The plans that turned out wrong

Andrew was on high spirits on this chilly winter morning mainly because he was meeting his best friend Caina Dante at Obsidian Harbour. They had planned to shop and spend some time together. Andrew hoped he would be on his best behavior because recently he had admitted to himself that he had feelings for Caina yet according to Arthimacy and Divination revealing them wasn't the best option.

He now stood in the crowded Harbour, snow covering all roofs. He smiled as he rubbed his hands together, his cheeks having gone a bit red due to the cold. A happy feeling ran through him as he thought about telling Caina that he had been made prefect. Andrew wasn't expecting this but yet it was a great honor and something this Slytherin was proud of.

Andrew looked around the place, wizards of all sorts zooming here and there speaking in different tongues and differing in skin colour. He wondered if a festival of some sort was going on. Maybe it was because of the wedding season in New Zealand.

He wore black trouser, white t-shirt and a long black, knee-length over coat. He wondered where exactly the Bleak Street that Adira had mentioned was and how it would be. Was it really dark-ish in there. Andrew didn't want to know for now. He was just waiting to see the girl for whom his heart beat these days.

Caina had tried to ignore her feelings for Andrew and lately she had been able to push most of her thoughts aside. Honestly she don't even know why for a short time she felt like he was even interested in her. Obviously he only wanted friendship and as much as this young Slytherin prefect wanted more, she knew better than to actually consider pushing the bountries of the friendship. To break the friendship. To kill the friendship that was so long had lasted would literally kill Caina more than anyone could expect. So she decided that day, when she had heard tell from Andrew, that she would push her feelings aside.

Walking slowly in her new black flats and completely knew outfit. After the announcement that she had made prefect, Caina's mother actually took the young blonde shopping making an entirely new wardrobe. It was great in the blue eyed girls mind. Better now as she walked down the streets not really paying attention to where she was going in her new short jean skirt which was just finger tip level when she placed her arms at her side and a new black top that fit perfectly not too tight but surely not too thin. Her hair was in loose curls as she continued to keep her pace slow yet comfortable.

Though as she continued to walk, she realized that she was not sure where she was going. It was getting darker and surely it wasn't that time of day. Looking around a few times she caught sight of no one even close. Where the hell was she. Then it hit her like a ton of bricks, she had entered into Bleak Street and due to the chaos going on her in mind, this young girl forgot out to get out of where she now found herself.

Andrew's eyes searched the Harbour for Caina but no matter where he looked he couldn't spot her. She couldn't forget ,could she? he thought as he spotted a blonde girl walking across the street. Her figure resembled Caina's, but then why is she not looking at me and going the wrong way? he wondered in tension.

Making his way through all the first years he crossed the street but she had disappeared. He was feeling positive by the minute that she was Caina. He moved from one alley to another, it was like a criss cross maze. He finally came out in one alley and he realized that the light was minimal in this part of the Harbor and one look at the shop's display items told him that he was in the Bleak Street.

Not that this Slytherin felt scared. He was worried about Caina. "CAINA" he shouted his head spinning around in all directions searching for the blondie. Many heads turned in his directions and he realized that some were very ugly.

Remembering his third year COMC lessons he knew what they were hags. Creatures that ate children and the Daily Prophets last issue zoomed in his mind. As the creatures closed on him, he spotted Caina at at far end of the street. He made a run for it.

Running towards Caina's direction he watched from the corner of his eyes as the hags followed them. Reaching the girl and as he saw his face, he knew it was her but at the moment they had a bigger problem. He spun around facing the hags who were closing on the pair. He took out his wand and pointed at them.
