The Next Step

Leo smiled at himself in the mirror as he finished getting ready for the dance, he'd asked Elizabeth and she seemed to be fine with going with him, though he was unsure as to whether they were going just as friends or whether they were more than that. The fifth year Prefect had something in mind to ask her, he didn't want it to ruin their friendship however which was why he felt slightly nervous about meeting her when he walked down to the common room. As soon as he saw her, he went over to her and smiled instinctively. "You look beautiful, Liz," he said, unaware of the nickname he gave her. Still looking at her, they headed to the great hall together. Should Leo hold her hand, or something? He was new to this whole thing and she was his first crush, and friend, so he'd have to get used to his heart beating faster whenever he saw her. Hopefully this night would not turn out half as bad as Leo expected it to be. The two were very good friends so they were comfortable enough around each other to be themselves, but somehow Leo wanted to impress Elizabeth this much more.​

Elizabeth was on her way to meet up with Leo and since they were both in the same house they could go together from the common room. Leo was now prefect and the brunette still liked to go on adventure, but she was more of aware of her future too and she didn't want her mother to be upsad of her always. She felt like she was getting older and she was a bit of nervous of this ball. She and Leo were great friends and she thought of that the same way with Aaron, but she felt different about Leo. She didn't understand it, because she felt like a boy sometimes too. Perhaps she just hoped this was going to be a fun night, and because of that had pain in her stomach. When was walked down the stairs with her large dress she had to laugh about herself. She had to learn to walk on heels, but wasn't ashamed of it. Leo could laugh about it she know. When she arrived with him she smiled and looked at him in his suit, he was so different in this clothes, but she was too she figured. He called her Liz and she kind of liked it, people had nicknames for her often and she didn't mind. '' Hi Leo! Thanks! I have to get used to my heels though. You look cool too!'' She didn't really know what she could say, she thought he looked nice but she didn't felt the need to say it out loud. Cool was fine too, because it was. She walked to the door of the common room and turned around. '' Are you coming or what?!'' she asked while smiling and couldn't wait to make some fun.

Leo grinned at Elizabeth's response, beaming at her. She always made him feel more cheerful than usual. "Don't worry," he reassured her. "Even if you don't get used to walking in them, you're still pretty awesome," he winked before offering his arm to her. They walked the rest of the way together, until they arrived to the great hall, where the gryffindor prefect noticed many people were already hanging out. He turned to his date - or at least that's what Leo hoped he could call her - and asked, "So, do you wanna like dance or something?" He asked her, unable to break the gaze. Not that Leo was the best dancer, but he would do it if his best friend wanted to. They were at a dance after all.​
