Jocelynn was looking for a girl in the Slytherin house just a year above her. But so far the girl seemed to allude her. She looked at the table during the meals and even tried to figure out the second year's schedule to find her after a class but to no luck. Then finally someone who seemed to know her pointed Jocelynn to the Trophy room and the girl went hoping it wasn't as a joke. "Jessica...Matthews?" She asked walking into the room. She hadn't ever been there before and was surprised by the amount of trophies in cases around the whole place.

Jessica wasn't exactly sure what had possessed her to duck into the Trophy Room of all places today, although she sort of suspected that it was something to do with wanting to see Tristan. He might be in here, who knew? She wasn't particularly interested in any of the trophies herself - no one she knew had one, after all - so once she had seen that the place was empty, Jessica was about to leave again... until she heard her own name being called by someone. "Yes, hello?" she called back, turning around cabinet corners to try and find the person looking for her. Finally spotting the entrance, and the girl standing there, Jessica's heart leapt excitedly in her chest - it was a rose delivery person. Folding her hands in front of her she made her way quickly, and hopefully calmly, over to the younger girl. "Did you need something?" she asked with a polite smile, even though she had a fairly good idea of what the girl would say next.

Jocelynn was happy to hand out roses and she thought this girl she was just meeting was very pretty and deserved the rose she was getting. Of course she thought everyone deserved a rose. She had gotten a yellow one from her closest friend and even a pink from her previous date to the yule ball. She didn't think he really had a crush on her since they were just like 12 years old but she thought it was nice anyways. She would have been more happy with a yellow one from him though. "I have a rose for you! Would you like it?" She asked unsure if this girl wanted her rose, some seemed to not want their roses so much.

As expected, the delivery girl announced that she was about to receive a rose, and Jessica smiled to hear the confirmation of her thoughts. "Oh, thank you! Of course I would, yes." The girl hadn't held one out to her yet, and Jessica's eyes darted quickly through the flowers she was holding, assessing the colours. There was one rose in particular she was hoping for, and she saw no point in bothering to try denying it to herself. "I didn't think there would be anyone who wouldn't want a rose." The idea seemed alien to Jessica, but she figured she might as well make polite conversation while she waited for the girl to complete her delivery. She didn't want to seem impatient or overly eager.

Jocelynn was happy the girl did want her rose. She wasn't sure why she asked that in the first place. She was going to get it from Jocelynn if she wanted it or not. "Oh good! It's just this yellow one, but yellow ones are the nicest! It means the person thinks of you as a friend, but also that they thought of you!" The young Gryffindor announced as she pulled the yellow rose out of her bucket. This slytherin girl seemed pretty nice and Jocelynn was glad to deal only with nice people so far. She shrugged her shoulders at what the girl said about someone not wanting a rose but Jocelynn hadn't wanted her pink rose she got. It had been awkward, she didn't think of the boy in the same way.

Jess,

You are a good friend, and I adore you!

~ Brook

Jessica smiled politely throughout the girl's babble, already slightly let down to hear that the rose was yellow and therefore not the one she was expecting. But the day wasn't over yet, and receiving any kind of rose was nothing to be ungrateful about. Taking the flower and note from the younger girl with a smile, she held both in her hands for a moment without examining them further. "You're right, that is a nice thought. Thank you again for this, I hope you have fun with the rest of your deliveries." Hoping the girl wouldn't expect anything more from her, Jessica felt it was safe to turn her attention to the note. The message was short, but seeing who it was from caused an immediate smile to spread across her face. Funnily enough the delivery girl had been right - it did make her happy to know that Brooklyn had taken the time to send this rose to her, and she wished she had sent one in return... but she had been too concerned with thinking of Tristan. Gently twirling the bloom back and forth in front of her face, Jessica felt that she would have to make it up to the other girl somehow.
