Skye looked forward to the Yule ball every year, it was a chance to dress up and be girly for someone who spend most of the year getting muddy and having windswept hair as she chased Quidditch glory for Gryffindor. Not that it was going her way so far. So for one night of the year Skye could be a different person. Skye was one of the last girls to start getting ready, she wasn't one for spending a whole day preparing herself before actually putting her dress on. Skye only needed half an hour to fix her hair she way she had decided on a few weeks before hand. Luckily it wasn't too complex of a style so she had it ready in no time at all. The Gryffindor fixed her dress making sure the fit was just right before she headed off down to the Great hall.
Skye hadn't given much thought about going the ball with a date. The only person she wanted to go with wasn't really an option. She didn't know what she and Willow were but she was pretty sure that they were not in a 'Yule ball date' place so she never even brought it up. The one thing she could count on however was that she would see the Ravenclaw bombshell inside, and she knew that she would look drop dead gorgeous, Willow had a way of making Skye's jaw drop and breaking her heart all with a single look. She would need to work on that if she hoped to service, what ever it was she had with the Ravenclaw.
As she walked into the Great hall she was taken back with how beautiful it was. It was her sixth Yule ball but she never got used to seeing the hall decorated like it was and it never ceased to amaze her. Skye made a split second decision that she wouldn't waste any time looking for anyone in particular, she grabbed a drink from the refreshments table and swayed a little on the spot. Skye was going to enjoy her night, whoever she ended up spending it with.
