Thalia was having a bit of trouble adjusting to her new life at Hogwarts, now that it was finally time to begin her magical journey here. She wasn’t sure how she felt about being a Ravenclaw considering that she didn’t exactly have a preference, but she didn’t mind it at all. Especially because she got to be with her sister, in the same dorms, which was exciting and at the same time, comforting. The girl knew that if she ever had trouble or needed something, she could always turn to Tee and vice versa. Really, it was a bonus having not only a twin but a twin sister. Of course, the first year was aware she also had her older sister Artemis, but Teodora was much more in reach, if she had an emergency or was feeling really down. Which hopefully wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. Thalia has woken up that morning feeling really sleepy, and had been confused when she didn’t see her sister anywhere in the room. She had gotten up earlier than her, apparently, and Thalia had woken up fairly early, but her sister had failed to write her a note. Or if she had, Thalia had not seen it.

After a few minutes of attempting to fall back asleep, the Ravenclaw figured she might as well get up. Maybe she could go looking for her sister and see where she could have wandered off to. It wasn’t a day full of classes today so unless Tee decided to go explore the castle without Thalia, she was at a loss as to where she could be. Well, she really hoped Tee didn’t go explore by herself or had already made friends without her. Thalia didn’t want to be left behind, though she knew her twin would never do that to her. Not intentionally. Once she had searched one or two floors, she gave up. Sighing, she came to the conclusion that it was rather difficult looking for someone when you didn’t know the castle well enough. It was easy to get lost. Thalia ended up on the fourth floor, and she entered the next room that she saw, finding a quiet place to sit, by the fireplace. She curled up in a ball and before she knew it her eyelids began to shut and she fell fast asleep.

Luxen had picked out a book from the library titled 'Rise and Fall of the Darkest Lords'. A book all about dark wizards and how they rose to power. More importantly for Luxen, the book also talked about what lead to their individual downfalls. Unfortunately, Luxen was only a first year and had no way to access the restricted section and so the book was PG-13 at best. It provided him with insight but left out a lot of details that Luxen was sure the writer had done on purpose.

The Slytherin Common Room had been unusually active this evening and so Luxen had decided to leave and find some place quieter to read. He traveled up to the fourth floor where the for the first time he entered the students lounge. He had not actually expected it to be empty but did certainly not anticipate that someone would be sleeping in the lounge. Luxen thought about whether to wake the girl up by 'accidentally' dropping his thick book above her head but decided against it.

He sat down in a chair opposite of hers and opened his book for a few short seconds. It bothered him that someone was sleeping in the student lounge like a homeless person. It was distracting at the very least which meant that to Luxen, it was an offensive act at the least. "I believe a bed might be more comfortable if you are tired" Luxen said both loudly and coldly.

Freya was coming down from the Owlery after sending another letter to her brother. It was too early for her to have any pressing need for supplies from the muggle world, but Freya was already feeling a little trapped being stuck at boarding school and writing to her brother distracted her. She felt uncomfortable not telling him about Hogwarts, especially after an entire year, but she just didn't know how to break the news to him or even if she wanted to tell him. It wasn't something she urgently needed to inform him of, though, so she figured it was fine to ignore for now.

Freya was thinking of heading back up to her dorm, but remembered that her belongings had colonised the floor and she wasn't about to confront that mess in case someone asked her to clean it up. She swerved into the student lounge and and wandered over to find a seat near the fire. Dropping into a chair, Freya grimaced when she heard a boy say something loudly to a sleeping girl. She didn't recognise them, so safely assumed they were first years, but she thought the girl had the right idea. "That's a top-tier nap spot, my dude," she said casually, raising an eyebrow at the first year boy. Freya didn't appreciate his tone or attitude at all. "I get that you're jealous, but keep your voice down 'cause people are sleeping." She set her bag down on the ground, pulling out a comic book she'd "borrowed" from one of her housemates and began flicking through it.

Thorgan was enjoying himself at school so far, it was a big place to explore and he was taking every available opportunity to look around he had before classes started and the school part actually took over. The new Gryffindor had spent his early days most exploring the upper floors, starting with the Gryffindor tower and making his way out. It had been early on that he came across the student lounge, it was a nice idea to have somewhere students could gather and interact that wasn't segregated by their houses. It was somewhere he often found himself gravitating to as something was always sure to be happening. Sure enough as Thorgan found himself in the lounge once more there seemed to be a bit of debate going on about as girl napping. Though less a debate than one boy being rude and a girl sticking up for the other girl taking a nap. "What's wrong with taking a nap on the sofa? The dorms are all so far away," Thorgan shrugged as he joined the small group. "Besides," He began, lowering his voice at the remark of the non sleeping girl. "These sofas are comfortable," Thorgan added in a loud whisper.

"Perhaps you didn't hear me, Dude, it was simply a suggestion" Luxen said even louder and colder than before adding sarcasm to the word 'dude'. He didn't recognize the girl nor did he care to interact with her any longer than he needed to. She annoyed him even more than the sleeping girl.

Then another began to speak and Luxen didn't even bother listening to what he had to say. He knew from Defense Against the Dark Arts that this boy was a Gryffindor First Year. Instead, Luxen closed his book and stood up tall and straight.
"Obviously, despite this being a common area, I won't be able to get much use here" Luxen said even louder than before, stopping short of yelling.

"Once vermin enter an area they breed more vermin" Luxen said in a lower but snarky tone to the small group before turning to take his leave. He wasn't going to let them intimidate him for his actions when they were no better. He was sure they were the type that preached 'friendship and unity' while at school but never even acknowledging one another outside of it. They were hypocrites who always wanted to find another villain to disguise themselves. Luxen didn't care if he was their villain, he simply had better things to spend his time on.

When Thalia heard a voice she opened her eyes, still sleepy. Ugh. That nap had not lasted long enough to make her any less tired. In fact, it seemed to have made things worse. She blinked and glanced at the boy, with a small frown on her face. What...well, he could be right. This was a common area, and the girl was probably wrong for having fallen asleep here. Suddenly, she was really nervous, after all he was a stranger and seemed to be telling her off for something she obviously should not have done. She felt her cheeks turn pink, and didn’t say anything as the girl spoke too, now Thalia was fully awake and her usual timidness kicked in. She almost jumped in surprise when another boy spoke; had these people been watching her sleep this entire time?! She giggled at his words, and nodded, deciding to speak at least a sentence. "It’s true, they’re so comfortable that I fell asleep..." she trailed off when she saw the slytherin boy’s expression. Thalia glances down at the floor, feeling both stupid for saying something like that and intimidated by the boy. She felt tears well up in her eyes but she tried to ignore it, beyond relieved when the mean boy left.

Freya looked up from her comic and winked at the new boy who joined the group. He seemed far more reasonable than the rude boy. The happenings in the room were almost more interesting than what she was reading, and Freya didn't bother trying to hide her grin as the Slytherin spoke again. He was the one making it difficult to read, and Freya didn't know why he didn't just go to the library or his own dorm. She was struggling not to laugh by the time the kid got up to leave. "Good luck in your nap quest, buddy." she said, waving at him. She almost wanted him to stay so she could try wind him up further, but that would be unfair on the sleeping girl, who she was dismayed to see had already woken up. "This place has nothing on the cold stone floors up in the tower, but I applaud your comfy-seeking skills," Freya smiled at the girl and clapped quietly, feeling a little bad that she'd been woken up already.
