Shalamar was relieved that the exams were nearly over, she looked out upon the lake and smiled serenely. It would soon be time to go home again and though she could not wait to see her parents or her siblings, she also had grown to love the time apart from them. This troubled her greatly and she sighed gently as she turned to look back up at the castle. The world used to be so plain and simple but now... now it was fraught with so much else. Here at Hogwarts she was constantly surrounded by troubled teenagers, teenagers who had learned enough magic to do serious harm to people. So far she had stayed under the radar, but she knew that at some point that would or could change and she dreaded the day that it would.
Her long black hair was tied up in a pony tail hanging loosely down her back, while the side partings of her hair remained free of any ties and blew gently in the wind. The cooler weather was settling in and she closed her eyes now to enjoy the crispness that it offered. As of yet she did not fully understand her place here, her destiny if she had one but hoped that it would reveal itself to her within due course. Shalamar has kept herself from much of the extra curricular activities by simply studying in the library or in her dorm. She attended none of the quidditch games as the sport simply did not entertain her at all. She turned once more to look out across the lake, smiling at the sight of a tentacle diving swiftly below the surface. Once again she had missed the giant squid but only by a fraction, some day she knew she would see him completely and couldn't wait for that time to come. She had changed alot over the past year, now she was thirteen and the young woman she was becoming had already taken root.
