The lounge was too quiet in Delaney's opinion. He was sprawled across their couch again, vaguely attempting to see if he was able to balance a grape on his nose since just eating them had gotten boring awhile ago. It was just him and Asher around the house today, with Asher having settled down not long ago to try and work on some songs. Delaney had joined him in the guise of 'helping' though they both meant that mostly meant being a nuisance and offering colour commentary while Asher did most of the writing. Lyrics had never been Delaney's strong suit anyway. He thought more in sounds and rhythm than actual words when it came to music, which suited a bassist fine.

"Asher," He said, propping himself up on his elbow to glance over at Asher. "Asher, hey," When Asher didn't look up fast enough, Delaney hucked a grape at him, enjoying the satisfying arc it made as it bounced off Asher's head.

Asher had been feeling lost a lot lately, and no matter whose bed he found himself in, the feeling still nagged at him. He decided to try and sit down to work things out the only other way he knew how- bust out some awesome lyrics. He had been lost in thought, hunched over his notebook, when he vaguely heard Delaney calling him. "Hm?" He half-turned, not really looking up as his pen flew over the paper. But then the grape bounced off his head, snapping him back to reality. He looked up, pouting. "What? I was busy," He picked up the grape from where it had landed and threw it back, aiming for Delaney's nose.

Delaney only had enough time to go crossed eyed as Asher returned fire with the grape and it bounced off his own face, slapping at it as it tumbled onto the couch cushions. "It's not like you're writing anything good, your first pass on lyrics always suck," He said petulantly, mourning the loss of a perfectly good grape. "I bet I could catch the next one in my mouth," Delaney said with a glint, chucking another grape back at Asher, not particularly caring if he hit him or not.

Asher chuckled, rolling his eyes at Delaney. "Just means the second draft is perfect," He replied easily. Asher picked up the grape as it rolled into his arm. "That sounds like a challenge," He grinned, an idea forming in his head. "Wanna make a bet?" He bit his lip, a gleam in his eye as he thought about what could be done. "Loser has to eat one of Leo's 'healthy' dinners," He teased, knowing that could either be amazing or devastating depending on Leo's mood.

"Whatever you say," Delaney sing-songed, knowing better to knock Asher's lyrics for too long. They didn't need a repeat of the rest of the band trying to write anything. Delaney had no problem coming up with riffs for their stuff, but ask him to pick up a pen and he struggled to rhyme anything. He sat up a bit more from his sprawl on the couch, eyebrows raised in interest when Asher mentioned a bet. "Deal, what's the game?" He asked, already grinning, certain whatever Asher's gameplan was, he could beat him. Especially if any of Leo's more 'green' dinner options were on the table. Literally.

Ash grinned, shutting his notebook and setting it aside. "It's a game," He declared, moving to sit on the other side of the counter closer to Delaney. "Whoever catches the most grapes in their mouth, wins. Simple!" He grinned mischievously. It was probably a childish game, sure, but it would kill time and be fun, so it was worth it in his mind. Though part of him did think Leo would be annoyed that Ash and Delaney were using his food as a punishment for losing a dare.

Delaney listened as Asher explained the idea, though he had already agreed to do it. "You're on," He said, rolling off the couch to his feet, content that Asher was about to get his butt kicked. Setting the bowl of grapes on the coffee table, Delaney paused to rip off a branch from the bunch, tossing it somewhat unceremoniously at Asher before grabbing a few of the loose ones at the bottom of the bowl in his own hand. "Wait, to be clear, are we throwing these to ourselves or each other?" Delaney asked. He was pretty sure he'd have better luck catching ones he could throw himself, having plenty of practice, but it would be a lot more fun to have an excuse to throw more stuff at Asher.

Asher grinned, catching the grapes and popping them off the stem one by one. "D, come on," Ash wrinkled his nose at Delaney before grinning impishly. "Food fights aren't any fun if you just throw food at yourself," he teased, ignoring the impulse to eat a grape. "First to ten wins?" Ash asked.

Delaney scoffed, shaking his head. "Who said anything about fights. Please this is pure sport," He said, tossing a few grapes deftly in one hand and frowning when he managed to drop one. "Sounds good, ready up." Delaney gave Asher just enough time to get ready before lobbing a grape towards him, an underhand throw in a relatively smooth arc. Asher would probably have to move a step or two to the right to catch it in his mouth, but that was all part of the game, really.

Ash laughed, rolling his shoulders and getting ready. He had to move a bit to catch the grape, barely managing it but throwing up his arms victoriously as he caught hold of it. He ate it, laughing a bit before grabbing a grape of his own. He tossed it, but it was flying just a little too high- Delaney was gunna have to jump if he wanted to catch it.

Delaney let out a whoop as Asher just managed to catch the first grape, shaking his head in mock disappointment. "Easy shot," He said, tilting his head from side to side and adjusting his feet as Asher lined up his own shot. The grape flew high and Delaney nearly over balanced backwards, standing on his tiptoes and lifting a foot to try and nap it before it landed somewhere behind the bookshelf. "Aw, what was that, come on. Do over," He insisted, giving Asher and accusatory glare and motioning he throw him another. "I know your aim sucks but at least try," Delaney goaded Asher with a grin.

Asher pouted when Delaney missed. "It's not my fault you're short enough to pass as a school boy," He teased lightly, pulling another grape free. He laughed, lining up to try again and tossing one to Delaney's nose- if he missed this one, then Delaney was just awful. Asher needed this- if he lost or won, he wasn't overly fussed yet, he secretly like trying all of Leo's weird foods. He was just enjoying spending time with his little brother. He smirked a little.

"Say that again I'll kick your a**," Delaney said, motioning at Asher threateningly with a grape. His wand was still laying on the coffee table, but if Asher wanted to go, Delaney figured he could take him muggle-style too. Thoughts of putting Asher in a headlock were derailed though when Asher finally gave him a good throw, and Delaney managed to catch the next grape in his mouth, coughing a bit when it slide to the back of his throat. "That's more like it," He said, chewing before tossing a grape back at Asher with his own mischievous grin, this time with a bit more force.

Ash grinned, pleased that he was riling up Delaney. "Bring it on," he challenged, holding his arms out and smiling like a fool. It seemed like it had been ages since their last good tussle. He went for the grape Delaney tossed, but it bounced off his nose. "Owww," He whined, rubbing his nose. "I didn't know you could assault via grape," He pouted. He tossed a grape at Delaney, only half aiming as he grew tired of their game. "It's not my fault you're a hobbit," He tried again, curious to see what Delaney would do.

Delaney gave Asher a warning look, enjoying riling each other up. He'd been restless today and some useless competition with Asher was a lot more fun than trying to work on music right now. Some days just weren't meant to be productive. "It's not my fault you suck," Delaney heckled, clicking his tongue as Asher complained about being hit by a grape of all things. "Right," He said calmly at Asher's next comment, setting the bowl aside so he could roll up his sleeves before picking it back up again. Clearly Asher was gunning for a fight and Delaney was happy to oblige, quickly making his way over and upending the bowl of grapes over his head before stepping back, admiring his handy work with a snort.

((godmod approved))

Asher chuckled as Delaney dumped the grapes on his head. "Oh, is that so?" He took the bowl and set it on the counter, chuckling as he turned back around. He flashed over, quick as lightning, and knocked Delaney to the ground, wrestling with him. "Surrender, tiny human!" Asher laughed loudly, rolling around and trying to pin the other man.
