The days to the fourteenth of February passed in a heartbeat. Karl's daily routine hadn't changed much after that faithful afternoon he had spent with Meera in the outskirts of the castle. He often searched for her in the corridors, trying to make his way through the advancing crowd when he saw her simply to offer her his greeting. Nothing gave him more pleasure than to see her somewhere, especially when she wasn't surrounded by her friends so that they could exchange a few words and experiences. He didn't know how she truly felt about his constant would-be stalking, but she managed well to hide any annoyance if it existed. After all, he was hopelessly in love, and that was often followed by a recklessness beyond measure. The two tried to keep their relationship as secret as possible though, for Meera still wasn't sure how others would react to it.

As he stood in the courtyard the morning of the 14th, he had to admit he was worried. This would be their first actual date, some time they could spend alone, given their plan to go to some secluded place to be alone turned out all right. Karl frankly had no idea what they would do - they hadn't thought about anything but trying to be alone, after all, that was one of the most important things for Meera, and Karl would respect that. He felt he would do anything for her, and that worried him a little. He stopped thinking as he her approaching towards him, and he had eyes for nothing and no one else.

In the movies, when Meera had seen actresses act all nervous about dates she had considered them mad. Now when found herself in a similar position. First dates were considered pretty important when they were with a new guy, but a girl's very first date in life, that was something even more dramatic. Meera tried to think about the time she spent with the two former guys in her life but she had never been asked to a proper date before and she had no idea what to do. She could not ask her best friend, Alice since they were keeping this a secret until things were final. Meera had offered a small smile, brief nods and a few words to Karl when he popped up in the corridor but she did not want to cause any suspicion and she had avoided meeting his eye until the morning of valentines day. In all her nervousness, it had slipped Meera's mind that the day she had chosen for her first date was the very day when all romantic couples spent time together. When Meera had told Alice she would be busy on the fourteenth Alice had asked a thousand questions but Meera's slow and cautious answers had finally convinced her friend that she was going to meet her family on fourteenth.

It was her first date after all and Meera wanted to look just perfect. She knew Karl had already fallen for her but she was sure he would be looking his best and she wanted to offer him the same. After much debate in her head and help from Alice she had finalized her outfit for the day. It was a simple, one shoulder, cream colored dress that reached just above her knees. It had a little deep cleavage for Meera's liking but Alice thought it was just right. Meera left her dorm room and made her way to the front of the castle. She noticed something odd. Everyone but her were in dressed in some shade of red. She could see nothing but couples all around her as she made her way through the courtyard. She was meeting Karl at the tree where they had first met. She was too confused to offer him a smile as she walked up to him. Meera could see his focus, just like last time only on her and it made her blush slightly. "Umm..Hi" she said to him and then couldn't help but stare at a couple right near them who were making out. "A little early for Valentines" she said, her voice just loud enough. The pair stopped kissing and looked at her like she was mad.
