The days to the fourteenth of February passed in a heartbeat. Karl's daily routine hadn't changed much after that faithful afternoon he had spent with Meera in the outskirts of the castle. He often searched for her in the corridors, trying to make his way through the advancing crowd when he saw her simply to offer her his greeting. Nothing gave him more pleasure than to see her somewhere, especially when she wasn't surrounded by her friends so that they could exchange a few words and experiences. He didn't know how she truly felt about his constant would-be stalking, but she managed well to hide any annoyance if it existed. After all, he was hopelessly in love, and that was often followed by a recklessness beyond measure. The two tried to keep their relationship as secret as possible though, for Meera still wasn't sure how others would react to it.
As he stood in the courtyard the morning of the 14th, he had to admit he was worried. This would be their first actual date, some time they could spend alone, given their plan to go to some secluded place to be alone turned out all right. Karl frankly had no idea what they would do - they hadn't thought about anything but trying to be alone, after all, that was one of the most important things for Meera, and Karl would respect that. He felt he would do anything for her, and that worried him a little. He stopped thinking as he her approaching towards him, and he had eyes for nothing and no one else.
