Isaac Ashworth had started his fifth year at Beauxbatons about a week ago and he was excited to be back at the school. Over the break he had moved to New Zealand together with his father and sister after his parents divorce and he had to admit that he had missed France. Not like New Zealand hadn't been fun, it was amazing, but he was born and raised in France and it would take a little time before he was settled in in his new home. He was glad his sister came with his father and him though, because them both attending different schools caused him to not see her very often, so if she would've stayed to live with their mother in Marseille he would probably see her a couple of days a year, whilst they would now see each other at home every break just like they used to. He did miss his two younger sisters though, they had a strong bond and it had been hard for him to leave them behind. However he had promised to visit them and he wasn't about to let go of that promise.

Making his way into the Beauxbatons student lounge the fifteen year old noticed that there weren't a lot of people in the room, he had expected there to be more students hanging around this place to catch up with their friends after their break. More people were always more fun, but at this moment Isaac didn't mind the feeling of peace that hung around the room. Looking out of the window whilst sitting himself down on one of the sofa's closest to it Isaac couldn't help but smile, glad to be back at school and being happy and excited about what the new schoolyear would bring.

After the holidays, Isabelle was very happy to be back at school. School had always taken the girl's mind off of things, especially after the joyful but also frightening news of Clarissa being pregnant with twins. Isabelle thought it was bad enough that she was pregnant with one but two of them had just made the situation worse. Her step-mother was so far into her pregnancy now that she was getting more annoying than usual which frustrated Isabelle to the point where she just wanted something else to occupy her mind before she became too enraged by it all. If the new babies were going to be anything like Anastasie then Isabelle would definitely be packing up her bags and leaving, no matter how hard her father would protest. Unfortunately, that probably wouldn't happen at all. Where would she go? She'd obviously end up getting lost somehow and would eventually end up coming back. So, despite how desperately she would want to do it, there'd be no way that she could.

Isabelle sat in the corner of the student lounge with her large charms textbook covering her face, her eyes scanning the page. She was reading up on the Quieting Charm which was something she'd hopefully be learning some time this year. It seemed like a very useful spell that Isabelle would definitely want to cast on her younger siblings when she had the chance. In fact, she was so curious to find out what exactly it did, other than silence people, that she had the urge to ask an older boy walking into the room. "What!? No, you can't do that! What if he thinks you're stupid?" she thought as her eyes peered over the top of her textbook at him. She could feel her hands beginning to shake just at the thought of talking to him as she watched him sit down on one of the sofas near the window. "E-excuse, excuse m-me." Isabelle stuttered awkwardly in French from across the room before hiding her now extremely red face entirely behind her book again. She was definitely going to have to suffer the consequences now.

Isaac was sat as close to the window as possible as his eyes were scanning the school grounds. The weather wasn't as great as it should be, but that didn't stop the students from hanging out outside. Small groups of students had spread across the ground, either walking around or chatting away as they had sat themselves down somewhere. Some of them were laughing and others had serious looks on their faces. The fourteen year old wondered what they would be talking about, whether it would be about the break they just had, about being back at school or about more serious matters.

Classes hadn't started yet, but the dark haired boy had to admit that he'd be happy when they would. He never really dreaded class and he could actually enjoy learning more about magic everytime, as long as they didn't keep him from having fun. There were almost no students in the student lounge, which caused the sound of a voice make Isaac turn around and see to whom it was directed. Looking around Isaac noticed a girl sitting across the room, hiding her face behind a book. Getting up from the armchair the fourteen year old made his way over to her, hoping it had been her speaking because otherwise this would be a very awkward situation. Isaac came to a halt in font of the girl, although he was keeping as much distance as he thought would be appropiate. "Was that you?" He replied in French whilst smiling at the girl, even though she wouldn't be able to see his smile untill she would lower the book.

Isabelle could feel her face turning a bright shade of red as it was hidden behind her book. Now that she thought of it, her question was rather irrelevant and she hoped that the boy who she had spoken to just thought it was a hallucination or something and would go back to whatever he was doing. However, when she heard his footsteps coming closer to her, she held her breath, suddenly imagining a scenario where the boy hexed her for disturbing him. It was moments like these where she wished that she was invisible or that she could finally be able to apparate away. That way, she'd be able to quickly escape whatever the boy was going to do to her without being harmed in any way.

The boy's words rang in Isabelle's ears and she jumped, waiting for him to cast a spell on her. Instead, nothing of the sort happened and she slowly put her book down below her eyes to look over it at him. He was smiling at her, waiting for some type of answer, but she couldn't bring herself to say anything and simply just nodded her head, too afraid to speak anymore. All Isabelle wanted to do was disappear and pretend like she never said a word but it was too late now and all she could do was hope for the best.

Isaac looked at the girl in front of him full of curiousity as she had jumped up after he spoke, yet she was still covering her face with the book she was holding. "Wow, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." He spoke, his voice a bit softer than usual, feeling as if that was an appropriate way to talk to her at the moment. As the girl slowly lowered the book she was holding so she could actually look at him Isaac's smile grew even wider as he was waiting for her to say something. She didn't. Instead the girl nodded in reply to his question and the fifteen year old had a feeling that she was either shy or she just didn't like to talk much. Perhaps a combination of those.

Observing the girl for a little bit Isaac came to the conclusion that he had seen her before, which wasn't all too strange as this was going to be his fifth year at the school. However he still came across people he was sure he had never seen before multiple times a week. One other thing the boy had no doubt about was that she couldn't be in the same year as him, if she was he was sure he would've noticed her in class and he hadn't. Turning his attention back to the girl Isaac looked at her. "So, did you want to ask me something? Or am I just imagining things?" The boy chuckled, curious about whether she would respond or just shake her head and get back to reading.

I'm so sorry this is so late!

Isabelle felt slightly foolish when the boy apologised for scaring her. Not only didn't he mean to scare her but she didn't mean to get scared, and as she looked at the boy over the top of her book, she came to the realisation that he was probably someone friendly and so Isabelle tried to smile back at him, despite it not really being seen. Being shy was definitely something that Isabelle had to fix, especially since coming to a new school. She had only been there for a year and a bit now and hadn't even talked to anyone there. The blonde knew that had to be changed and so she tried her best to speak to him, lowering the book a bit more so she could be heard.

"Y-you were j-just imagining." she stuttered, hoping the boy would believe her and change the subject. Better yet, he could just walk away and pretend nothing happened and everything would be perfectly fine. Despite the slight confidence of opening her mouth, the girl was still frozen and her fingers clutched the book tightly, using it as any means of protection even though she knew he meant no harm. There was no way that she could move and so she just continued to look at him, feeling quite intimidated regardless of how much he was trying to keep his distance.
