Talking again

Veronica was taking Kenneth's advice and implementing it into her life. She had realized after a week that she was alive and she could do other things like normal single people. The pain never left her but it was getting reduced as days passed. She had not seen Zac from a week and in her classes she was sitting with Nicky and ignoring his presence.

She sat in the dinning hall and was eating some spaghetti because the matron had warned her to eat or else she would be fainting around the place. She ate slowly, hiding her face behind her hair that covered her right cheek because she didn't want to attract any attention of strangers.

Joshua walked into the dinner hall with a grin on his face. He was in good spirits recently after meeting an awesome guy that had seriously made him feel better about himself and not to mention helped him move on from Kenny. He walked over and passed a familiar face. He walked backwards a few paces and sat down. "A penny for your thoughts?" He asked Veronica as he had heard about what happened and he wanted to make her feel better as Will had done for him. He didnt like to see people down and especially when he liked them.

Veronica looked up and smiled on seeing Joshua. He had helped her a few times and was a good guy and if she was listening to Kenneth's advice she had to talk. "Penny is too little" she said with a grin as she chewed her food and tucked her hair behind her ear. "You seem rather happy?"she asked wondering what Joshua had been up to.

Josh grinned widely. "Well maybe a few galleons would do the trick and yup im happy i met the most coolest guy over the holidays. you know just when i think i wont find someone. Bang." He said with a laugh in his tone. "Anyway talk to me. Whats bugging you? If its Zac then move on, even though we are like best mates, i think you could do better than him i mean come on look at you, you are stunning, smart and talented. You could get anyone you want. Why settle for Zac?" He said with a smile on his face as he tried to comfort her and help her move on

Veronica laughed on hearing Joshua talk. It seemed she had laughed after a long time and she had missed it. "Someone's getting lucky" she said happy that Josh had fun over the holidays but he couldn't imagine what the news might mean to Ken. Of course she wasn't going to tell him. "Thanks for the compliments" she said with a smile. "I'm moving on but don't think I am looking for a relationship right now" she said as she ate some more.

"I mean with Qudditch and my OWLs I don't have time for a guy" she said with a wink. "Its sad he couldn't forgive me" she said her voice being low for once because she didn't talk about Zac since her break up evening when she had talked with Kenneth about him.

Josh nodded slowly. "Yup i am wel if Kenny gets to cheat then fine but he can only cheat when he has more than one boy friend and now he doesnt have me besides once a cheater always a cheater i guess. Oh well i dont care about him any more, he nearly made me leave my family so yeah." He said raising his eye brows and shrugging. "And there we go. If you two were really destined for each other then he would have forgiven you have gave you another chance. Obviously he didnt care enough and there fore he is not right for you." Josh said showing her his view on the matter

Veronica didn't know that Josh and Kenny had arguments or had broken up. It seemed like a break up season or something and she wondered what Ken was going through at the moment. He had helped her so much when she needed him and if she needed to help him she would. "But you are still friends, right?"she asked Josh with her fingers crossed.

"Yeah, you're right" she said with a smile as Josh said that Zac and her weren't destined for each other. Maybe your prince charming is waiting for you somewhere, she thought with a slight blush. "So are you not moving out of your parents house?"she asked wondering what would happen of Ken and Josh's plan to buy a new house for themselves.

Josh shook his head. He and Josh had not been friends really before they had date so they wouldnt be now. "No i dont think we are. We werent friends to start off with we just dated and i dont like the fact that he went behind my back and started seeing someone else, he could have at least left me and not strung me along. Oh well at least i know what is going on with Will. I know he is marrade to a woman, he said before anything happened." Josh didnt care about that fact. At least he knew about it and he wouldnt be finding out some other way later on. "No not at the moment anyway. Once i leave school i will do but for now i thinks its logical to stay there for the time being."

"Oh okay" she said a little sad that two of her good and close friends weren't talking to each other. She could have talked about that if she hadn't caught the words 'Will' and 'married to a woman'. "Yeah you can move out once you graduate. You have any future plans?" she said with a smile. "Where did you meet Will and is that his real name?"she asked curiously with a smirk on her face.If he was dating William then....the world was so confusing sometimes.

Joshua pursed his lips and shook his head. He wasnt really thinking about the future at the moment. "No not really. Maybe become a shop keeper or something. Im not really thinking abou that yet. I want to take it as it comes instead of planning it out." He said truthfully as he took a fork and began to share her food as she seemed to have little interest in it. "I met him in Obsidian. We talked and he helped me with my problems and then it just happened i guess. And yes that is his real name Veronica." He laughed. "Why'd you say that?"

She smiled as he said he was not sure about his future yet.She had been that way but after her father passed away she had started thinking about her future. By thinking she didn't mean settling on a career choice but rather thinking about which subjects she was interested in and whether they had any career associated with them which she would like.She was glad to share her food because she wasn't really having the appetite to eat much especially since she normally ate little.

"Oh...I thought I knew the guy you were talking about. He just my eldest adoptive brother...William" she said with a smile wondering how weird it would have been if she would have her guess right. William being a gay was true according to Jasper who somehow was involved with William ignoring the fact that they had an age difference of more than ten years. If William would be seeing Joshua as well...but of course it wasn't William who Josh met.

Joshua nodded once slowly mouthing *oh*. He then laughed slightly at the thought of dating one of Veronica's brothers, adopted or not. "Well unless his last name is Morte then i doubt it. Wow imagine the awkwardness of that. Ohhhhhhh tense times." He laughed as he took another mouthful of pasta. He was aware he was being a bit of a pig but he didnt care, he was a boy he was allowed to pig out like this. "I didnt know you were adopted." He said once he had finished the food in his mouth. "You like your foster parents?" He asked her curiously

(Will said that Veronica won't know about Josh and Will till later and then cause drama when needed. So Veronica won't know William's second name )


Veronica tried to remember William's second name but couldn't. She had her guesses at Clow since many people in the manor had Clow as their second name. "I don't think that's his second name" she said a little unsure. The thought left her mind as she started smiling and laughed at his joke. "Very awkward" she agreed as she ate a little more and finished her portion. She grinned as she observed him eating.

When Josh said that he wasn't aware of her being adopted she shook her head. "Oh..no. I am not adopted. You see my father passed away so my mother asked me to stay with her in New Zealand. I never knew my mother but I said yes since she was my biological mother" she tried to explain him. "She adopts all the other children who are orphan and neglected so I am her only biological child and all the other kids including William are adopted" she explained as she ate a cookie and drank some juice.

Joshua nodded slowly as he listened to Veronica explain about her mother. She sounded like a good person to him, taking on kids that have been abused or what ever and giving them a home. Joshua liked things like that. "Oh right cool. Do you like living with your mum?" He asked wondering if she felt the same. He knew that not all peopel liked their parents but luckily Josh was not one of them. He loved his family and them loved him in return.

Josh leant across and grabbed a cookie like she had done and took a bite out of it. "You know if you ever need to talk to anyone, im here. Im a good listener as im sure you have found out and i like helping people out. Even more so when they are pretty girls who have just gotten out of a relationship that they should never have been in in the first place because they were to good for that said person." Josh said with a smile as he took another bite out of the cookie

Veronica chuckled at his question. She was not sure if she liked living with her mom or not. "I'm not sure. It seems like there is a dark secret of my mother and the manor or something...she's...very secretive and non of the kids are able to tell me what's going on in the manor...like...like they're under a spell" she tried to explain hoping Joshua would understand what was going on in her mind. "Nothing's confirmed yet and she is very kind with everyone so I don't know for sure"

Veronica finished eating her chocolate cookie and took a sip of the pumpkin juice.She was glad for Joshua saying that he would be there for her. "Thanks" she said and she really meant it. Had it not been for Kenneth and Joshua she wouldn't be smiling today and would probably be thinking about ways of ending her life. She owed them so much. Veronica smirked when Josh said that he especially helped pretty girls who had gotten into wrong relationships. "Am I suppose to consider that as you flirting with me?"she asked him wondering if Josh was interested in girls as well.
