Taking Me Away

Makenna had survived her first week at Hogwarts and was now going into her second week. So many days she spent in the crowded classrooms fearing for her own safety. Way too many people seemed to be around her in the classroom or walking through the halls. It was almost too much for this young Slytherin. Better than at home she thought shivering with the thought of her father and grandfather. Luckily they had not made contact with her yet.

Still the pressure of the population and the classwork itself was making Makenna retract in her own shell more and more. She needed an escape, something to take her away from the world she disliked, feared, and at the same time seemed to never be able to understand.

What did Makenna always do when she needed to get away, she threw herself into a book. Walking slowing to the library her Slytherin uniform on along with some black leggings under her skirt and even a long sleeve black thermal under the short sleeved shirt. No Makenna wasn't dressed like this because she was cold, it was because she had to cover up ever ounce of skin as possible. That was one of her father's rules. Even with this Slytherin so far away from home she followed her father's rules.

Entering the library finally, Makenna walked over to the book shelves in the back as she began to leaf through some of the pages of random books trying to find one that she would be able to use.
