Swimming

Rose grinned. "Yeah, I guess." She said and then got down from his holding her and went underwater and swam out deeper a little. She got back up and wiped the water out of her eyes.

Austin followed her a bit deeper out into the water, although, not getting touching distance. He watched her dive under the water, and come back up. A question flowed into his mind. He inquired, "You don't think we will catch colds from this, do you?"

Derrik was up in the boy dormitory. The school day seemed to slow itself just for aggrivation. The other boys where talking about spells, classes, sports or random things that came to mind. Derrik looked out into the nearby window. The sun was out but was hiding itself. He looked toward the lake and saw his friends, Rosalie and Austin.

"I don't have much to do. Maybe I'll go hang out with them." Derrik hadn't seen Rosalie in a while and it seemed like ages since he talked to Austin. It would be like a school reunion for the three of them. Derrik got himself ready with his casual school cloths. He grabed his wand just incase if anyone wanted to be dumb enough to cast stupify on him.

As he walked down the Grand Stair Case, he gave a warm hearted hello to some of the portraits that he'd been talking to for a while. Finally he made it outside. He had to shield his eyes from the sun's bright shine. He still wasn't used to how bright the sun was here.

As he walked his way to the lakefront, he waved to the couple.

"Hey guys!" Derrik yelled.

Austin shrugged, "I just don't want you sick. But eh, who cares? I would be catching a cold too!" Austin beamed, and nudged her arm. Austin glanced at Derrik and waved back at his greeting. Austin heard Rosalie's whisper, and smirked a bit. Tempting him to be a little mean. Although, he wouldn't do it. Not with her around, at least.

Austin shouted, "Hey, Derrik! I hope you aren't just going to stand there and not swim!" Austin smiled warmly, his green eyes sparkling in the son.

Derrik walked over to the edge of the lake.

"Well I didn't have plans on swimming. I don't have any extra cloths at the moment." Derrik wasn't really much of a swimmer. Ever since a few summers ago, he had a horrible dream and that wasn't enough. One day at the beach someone tried to force him to swim and almost drowned.

Austin frowned slightly. He swam over to Derrik, and got out of the water. He motioned for Rosalie to come as well. He didn't want either of them sick, which seemed inevitable now. Austin grabbed his towel, and wished he had a shirt on while he stood near Derrik. Austin inquired, "I haven't seen you around in ages. Where have you been?"

Not like he himself had any room to talk. He was gone once for an entire week. Austin's eyes did not seem as happy anymore, as he recalled his illness.

Austin glanced at Rosalie, but did not smile as big as he would have before. Austin shook his head and said to Rosalie without taking his eyes off Derrik, "I think you know the answer to that. Keep the shirt on." Austin used the towel to dry his shorter hair and his body before wrapping it around himself. He turned and gave a wink to Rosalie. "You look cute with it on anyway."

Derrik was looking at Austin. He began to speak.
"Hey. I've been doing good. School has been keeping me well beyond busy its beyond believable. We finally got into Defense Against The Dark Arts. We know how to defend ourselfs/protect ourselfs finally. But other than that I've been ok. Still have ups and downs but that's just what life does. But enough about me. How have you been?"

Austin listened to Derrik, and paid attention as usual. Austin shrugged, "Well, now I've been doing good. Being stuck in the hospital wing wasn't the best time I've had here. But other than that, the classes are going well, I find out my uncle is extremely creepy, and my sister is cursed. However, I have been having a great time at the school." Austin smiled. It was rather hard to figure out whether he was sounding sarcastic or friendly. Perhaps both.

Derrik had heard correct that Austin had been in the Hospital Wing.
"Oh my God are you okay? Rosalie had told me that you had been away but she didn't tell me aboout you being in the Wing."
Even though that Derrik had never really talked, he still cared about other people.

Austin smiled at Rosalie, "Parselmouth? Dark magic...something or rather. Well, mom confirmed it. Aleyha can speak parseltongue." He turned to Derrik. Austin's smile was wiped away. He stated, "Will be for a while. She didn't tell you that I was in the Wing, mainly because she didn't know that I was getting sick and didn't bother to look there." He added, "Everything has been worked out though, and I'm over it." Although the disease he had wouldn't go away so easily, but he was feeling as good as he could get.

Austin saw Rosalie's mean look, and cocked his eyebrow up. "What was that look for? I did nothing wrong." Austin turned back to Derrik. His face remained a bit stern.

Derrik was pretty sure that something was going on between the two of them.

"Is...everything okay? I can sense some sort of disagreement here." Derrik was no psychic but he knew if something was wrong.

Austin shook his head. He then started to walk away, and said, "I think I should head to the towers and change clothes. You two have fun together." Austin didn't bother waiting for Rosalie. His emotions were too messed up to think straight. The last thing he wanted to do was to hurt either of them.

"So what are you guys up to now?" Derrik didn't want to be a third wheel or anything but if the couple was going to do something later, he didn't want to be in the way or their bonding.
