Alyss had woken up slowly that morning from the girls dormitory, it was the weekend and she was glad for that as it meant that she could have slept in, but unfortunately, at nine am, her snowy white owl Annabelle was outside the window, squawking her head off, and she had flown up towards the Owlery. 'Great.' She muttered, there went her chance of sleeping in, but she supposed that it was better to wake up earlier, so she wouldn't make her roommates angry, so she turned off her alarm, that she had set to ten thirty am, the time she had expected to wake up, and quickly got dressed into a green shirt and jeans, placing on her robe over it and stuffing some Owl treats in her pocket, began the long journey up towards the Owlery.

She made sure to walk slowly as she was still waking up slowly, and didn't want to make a fool of herself and fall down the stairs in front of everyone. She had seen a few people that weren't Slytherin, and that she believed weren't worthy to be her friend, so she just glanced at them as she walked past, her usual smirk on her face as if she was thinking 'I know something that you don't know', before continuing on her way towards the Owlery.

By the time she had reached the Owlery, she had finished waking up, and she was angry that her owl had woken her up so early. She probably wanted to get fed or something. Couldn't that owl have waited to later? 'Annabelld!' She hissed, rattling the box of owl treats quietly, making sure not to wake up the other owls, she didn't want to have an onslaught of angry owls because of her, and besides they would probably peck repetitively at her. She definitely didn't want that.

Annabelle came out and squawking loudly stuck out her leg, a letter was tied onto it. 'Can you be anymore louder?' Alyss hissed, quickly grabbing the letter, and throwing some owl treats in her direction. Annabelle responded to that with an even louder squawk, before flying off after the owl treats. She dropped the rest into Annabelle's bowl, and slit open her letter and began reading it:

Dear Alyss,

It has come to my attention that your father was killed, and that you don't have a suitable home to stay in. I never liked hearing that a fellow friend has passed away, however considering the circumstances, my wife and I have spoken about your living arrangements. My house is plenty big enough for another person to take in, and I am offering that room to you if you wish to take it.

Remember that the choice is entirely yours. I have two other children that are attending Hogwarts right now, one is Leviathan and the other is Kamaria. Leviathan is in your house, and one year ahead of yourself. Though if you decide to move in and eventually perhaps even join the Zhefarovich family, I would highly advise talking to Professor Styx. Seeing that I am your boss in the owl shop, you already know how I am and perhaps even who I truly am. Think about this wisely, and let me know what you think about possibly living with my family.

Sincerely,
Axel Zhefarovich

Alyss couldn't help but her mouth drop open slightly, and with a quick glance around her to make sure that no one had seen the "Slytherin Ice Princess" as she had been called by those younger and the same age as her be shocked. She quickly shut her mouth, in case someone walked in on her. She had heard of Axel Zhefarovich and the Zhefarovics, and here she was being offered to be a Zhefarovic later on. She did know about who truly Axel was as her father had told her and how they were friends, so she summoned a quill and some ink and began writing back:

Dear Mr Zhefarovich,

I really appreciate you offering this opportunity to me and thank you so much. I would love to stay at your place, and I feel honoured for the opportunity to eventually join the Zhefarovich family. I would love to do that as well. I will talk to Professor Styx and thank you so much for this. It makes me feel a whole lot better about everything that had been happening, especially since I want nothing to do with my mother, and she has specifically said that she wants nothing to do with me, or magic.

Thank you once more for this opportunity, and I look forward to hear a response from you.

Sincerely yours,
Alyss Summers

Alyss finished her response, and attached it to Annabelle, sending her off, watching her go with a small smile on her face, she was excited to see what Mr Zhefarovich said in response back to her. She hoped that she hadn't sounded too desperate, though this was definitely better than going back to the Hogwarts Halfway house or staying with her "friends" or even by herself.

OOC: Feel free to control Annabelle by the way.

OOC: Eh, I suck at controlling owls. XD

Dear Alyss,

Your mother doesn't deserve to be around magic or you for that matter, from what I have heard of her. I will alert Professor Styx and he will tell you all about being in this family. I will have everything set up for you by the time school lets out for the next break. Otherwise, focus in school, and everything will be taken care of. You staying elsewhere other than with a friend of your father's would dub me as a bad person, but I see now that this will be a better opportunity as well.

Glad to read that you are excited about this, and I look forward to your stay with us.

Sincerely,
Axel Zhefarovich
Axel glanced over the letter, and realized that this was why he hardly wrote to his children. He sucked at writing letters. As soon as he sent that letter off, Astrilda and Adriel needed his attention. He stood up from his office and went to care for them. Being a father, a shopkeeper, a Death Eater and an assassin for the family was really taking it out of him.

OOC: So do I. It's my first time of controlling an owl. XD

It didn't take long for Annabelle to come back to Alyss with the letter, and Alyss retrieved the letter from Annabelle, and read it a small smile on her face. She was glad that there was someone that cared about her since her father had died and she was grateful to Mr Zhefarovich for that. She absent mindedly began stroking Annabelle gently, wondering what to write back, before scrawling with her usual messy writing, trying to write as neatly as possible.

Dear Mr Zhefarovich,
Thank you so much, and I appreciate what you're doing for me. I will focus in school, and thanks for alerting Professor Styx for me, so he can tell me about the family. Will my being a half-blood be a problem though? I really hope not.
Sincerely yours, Alyss
She glanced at the letter once more, and sent Annabelle off, hoping that Mr Zhefarovich would say that her being a half-blood wouldn't be a problem. She knew that the old pure-blood families didn't really like half-bloods that much, and especially hated mudbloods, but she had heard a rumor that they were becoming more lenient. Hopefully that rumor was true for her sake.

Needless to say, after Axel tended to the children, as well as kissing his wife just because he wanted to, he went back to his office to see the owl perched on the back of his chair. He took the letter into his hand, and read it. He didn't have much time free, but a little letter barely took any time at all. He was a little peeved about not killing that failure of an uncle of his, but that was saved for later. Taking another piece of parchment, ink and his quill, he started to write.

Dear Alyss,

There may be issues with some members, however seeing that I am a highly respected member of the family, and will be throned to be the next Head after Bashta (father in Bulgarian, something you will hear a lot) steps down, no one would question my actions. Fifty years ago, there would have been great problems, but now, it depends on who raised the child and where the family descends. Seeing that there are very few half-bloods in the family, but there are nonetheless, and no one has really had an issue with them unless they stirred up issues.

I highly doubt you would. However, some members, say my son for example, may give you a hard time once he sees, but that boy will give anyone a hard time to see their reaction. Though they would hate to have to deal with me as well if I have to step in.

Sincerely,
Axel Zhefarovich
After Axel sent the letter along, he wondered if anyone really would give her a hard time for her blood. Axel thought for a while on that, and decided that if Asparuh saw her as worthy, then no one would bother her. But that alone is a risky step. He was the type to kill someone if they weren't worth it. Axel would just have to go by this one step at a time. Seeing that he was the next Head and all, no one would go against him, except the next Patriarch and all, and that was Kalif.

Alyss had headed down to her dormitory, and had passed more people on the way up. She had begun doing her homework and when she had just finished her first essay, she saw Annabelle tapping on her window, with another letter tied onto her foot. She stood up, and untied the letter and read it, a faint smile on her face. Mr Zhefarovich was right when he said that she wouldn't cause problems, but she was glad that it wasn't fifty years ago. She would also try and make sure Mr Zhefarovich wouldn't have to step in as she was the type to defend herself, so she was sure she could defend herself against the others if need be, she hated being considered weak just because she was a girl and she would try and prove that she wasn't weak.

Dear Mr Zhefarovich,
I'm sorry if I seem gushing, I'm just really grateful and shocked that you would give me such a great opportunity. I will do my best to make the family proud, and I can not wait to see you personally to thank you in person for this opportunity.

Sincerely,
Alyss

Alyss sent off Anabelle with the letter, a still surprised expression on her face that Mr Zhefarovich was being so nice to her. She was grateful to him for that, and she would do whatever it took to show him that.
