((Yellow rose, open after Sydney Townsend))

Emily had enjoyed delivering roses in the past, and she was glad she had signed up again this year. It had felt a bit weird taking instructions from her best friend, but she was proud that Alice was running something so exciting and fun. Basket on her arm, Emily headed down to the dungeons, double-checking the name on her list. "Sydney?" She called out, the name of the city she still thought of as home comfortable and familiar in her mouth. "Sydney Townsend? Has anyone seen Sydney?"

Valentine's never ceased to make Sydney grumpy. How everyone had somehow managed to take all the sincerity out of a holiday celebrating love and make it into some gaudy display was beyond her. Not to mention it seemed like you couldn't get a moment of peace between all the roses flying everywhere. Sydney had been hoping to get a reprieve heading back to her dorm, but it seemed she couldn't even make it that far without being accosted either. "What do you want?" She asked the deliverer with a frown, wondering if she actually had a rose for her. Maybe it was a trick, like what she'd done to Eric in the past.

Running around in random places yelling out people's names didn't always work out for the best, and Emily couldn't help the bright grin that spread across her face as she realised for once she had been successful. "Hey!" She said cheerfully, reaching into her basket and handing the younger girl a rose and card, smiling in defiance of the Slytherin's sullen disposition. "Rose delivery for you, happy Valentines day!"

Dear Sydney,

You're amazing, and can't wait for more mischief!

from,
- S.J xx

Sydney was still suspicious of the delivery, cautiously taking the rose, but ready for a trick. She was surprised to feel her face heat up when she realized the note was from Samantha, quickly pocketing it and staring at the rose for a beat as she tried to puzzle out the twisting in her guts. "Thank you," She said quickly, abruptly making a beeline for the Slytherin common room. She needed to be alone with her thoughts for a bit.
