Alexis opened her book and began to write. The library had never been so quiet. She smiled at this. She soon became bored and shut her book, wandering around the shelves and hoping she might bump into someone for a nice chat. The more friends she had, the better, she thought. She wasn't really looking at the books, but one jumped out at her. It was the biggest book she had ever seen. She heaved it out of the shelf. It was a book on magical creatures. She took it to a table in the corner, where it was always warm because the sun shone in there. Opening it carefully, she coughed and spluttered. Dust flew everywhere. Still wheezing, she turned the page.
She soon became absorbed in the book, and forgot about everything that was going on around her, including the time. She wondered how many people had seen this book. She smiled as she read intently, taking in all the information she could, as this would increase her knowledge for lessons. She found out all she could, and then, carefully went to put the book back. But it was too heavy. She struggled and moaned, realising there was no way she was going to get the book back in its original place. She decided to wait for someone strong to come along and help her.
