Having spent most of the morning in the dark and dreary place he called his home at Hogwarts, the Slytherin Common Room, Iason decided that it would be a nice treat to get out and about and enjoy the nice weather that they were having at the moment. Of course with his book in hand he figured that he would take the opportunity to go outside and enjoy the weather but there was no excuse to not take a book out with him to enjoy. Iason hadn't really explored much of the school yet apart from the library and the Slytherin Common Room and with classes just around the corner he really needed to get to know his way around the school.

Taking his time he made his way from the dungeons and made a pit stop in the kitchen to pick up an apple to eat along the way as he had skipped lunch and dinner was still a few hours away. The warm air hit Iason's face and messed his already messy hair a bit but it calmed down as he moved further into the castle grounds. Iason had to admit that the grounds were extremely pretty and with the lovely weather just enhanced everything around him, with the sun shining through the trees making them seem greener and the water glimmered like a diamond. With the water looking so inviting he decided to sit under one of the big oak trees by the lake. Taking his seat he opened the book and continued from where he left off as he stuck into his juicy red apple.

Gabriel was highly enjoying his time at Hogwarts New Zealand even if it had been brief so far. He was pleased to have been sorted into Ravenclaw though he knew his mother had secretly been hoping he would be sorted into her house, Slytherin. Gabe was pretty sure that they had the best common room of the four houses. It sat up high in the air with a spectacular view of the grounds around the school. Gabriel enjoyed it because it made him feel like he was flying. The first year had even tried out for the house team, and he had made it as a Chaser. As soon as the list had been posted, he had written notes to his father and to Kiera to let them know. Gabriel didn't even think that it was so bad having his mother around. He loved Jacqueline, and he was seeing her much more regularly now.

Gabe looked out the giant windows to the outdoors. It was a lovely day with exceptional weather that was really too good to pass up. The eleven year old ran up to his dorm and grabbed a book before heading out to the grounds. He wandered around for a bit before spotting a nice, shady tree. The only problem was that it was currently occupied. Gabriel looked at the other boy, guessing that he was a first year too. Well, there wasn't a better time to start making friends. Gabe smiled. "Do you mind if I join you?" he asked politely.

It was far too easy for Iason to get lost in a book and it didn’t have to be a particularily interesting book, be it a novel or a textbook, Iason enjoyed reading them all and today was no different. It was no sooner he had sit down that all the noise around him seemed to have been drowned out and all his attention was on the book in front of him. It had even taken him a few minutes longer than it usually would to eat his apple as he would captivated by his book so much that he would leave his mouth slightly open with his free hand holding the apple up to it but would forget to take a bite it would seem to a passer-by. It wasn't long until Iason had read a few chapters and figured this would be a good time to take a break. He would of continued to read but he could feel his eyes starting to sting and he had been warned a number of times before about reading too much in one sitting damaging his eyes and if he continued to do so he would have to get glasses. This wasn't particularily something that Iason wanted to happen as he had enough problems about being seen as a dork around his peers. Yet he hadn't met enough people in Hogwarts just yet to be seen as a dork, the only person he had really gotten to know would be Blaine but they met by reading the same book so he couldn't see himself being called a dork by Blaine.

Letting his eyes rest he cast them over the grounds, this place really was beautiful. Sure where he lived in Greece was beautiful in its own way, the rolling hills and the surrounding villages, it was all very picturesque but Hogwarts was magical and just by looking at it you could tell it was different and not just any old castle. Hearing a voice above him Iason broke his train of thought and looked up in the direction of the voice, squinting his eyes to minimise the glaring beam of the bright sun. "Be my guest." Iason replied to his question. Shifting over to the side a bit so the boy could sit down Iason noticed the boy was carrying a book. "What are you reading?" he asked, always interested when other people read leisurely.
