painting a portrait all over my heart
new zealand was a comfortable fit on izaak jay finch. sure it didn’t have that old blue jeans
feeling that bondi did, but it was somewhere not far behind. so it was only natural that for
the twenty-two year old to exhale a warmed sigh as appeared at the corner of a particular
street he had walked down so many times that the prints of his size elevens might’ve been
imprinted onto the sidewalk. new york city was something completely different altogether
and it was only yesterday that izaak had arrived back from a week long business trip in its
crowded over-priced and overrated vices. but izaak and business trip in the one sentence?
chyeah right. he had been hard-pressed to believe it himself the entire time he was over in
the four closed walls of dull grey offices, with nameplates of important people he had been
expected to remember and expansively large desks izaak suspected were all just for show.
but business was exactly what he had gone over to do and business was exactly what he
had come back with. a sponsorship deal with america’s most prestigious of surfing brands.
while his job as a lifeguard was all good and safe and fun ever since he had been little the
young man had always possessed a certain thirst for this kind of success, with aspirations
dreamt all the way up to the world title. and now he finally had a shot at it, izaak had been
thrust right in there with the big guns, he already had three competitions lined up for this
year and on top of it all not only were they coughing up more than what he was currently
earning but they were also throwing in new boards, wetsuits, first class plane tickets and
penthouse suites. it was indeed the life and it was all his to live. naturally the first thing that
izaak had done was to call up alianne on the cell phone he had bought her specifically for
occasions as such and relay the exciting news. as corny as it may sound, his girlfriend had
been the inspiring light in his quest for this partnership. alexis’ death had opened izaak’s
eyes right up to the cold fact that life was just far too short to sit about deliberating instead
of taking chances. and when he had been ready to accept this, who else had been there
but alianne faith cooper? izaak would be the first to say it, she was so much more braver
than him. and so far in the three wonderful months of their concealed relationship she had
been the very best of influences on him. dare he say he that he was falling in love with her?

but between the week that had just passed and the various trips he’d had to make in and
out of the states, izaak jay finch should have known more than enough by now to write the
bestseller “bad boyfriend one-oh-one”. they had barely had any time with each other over
the past month, izaak had even missed valentine’s day and so tonight would be the night
that he would make up for all of it. they had been planning their belated celebrations for a
week now, had set the date for the night after he came back down under but he still would
not give a whisper about where they were going. alianne knew by now that he was a dead
sucker for surprises. all that he had told her, and all that he had told her he was going to
tell her, was how to dress. like a princess. but he didn’t need to see the dress to know that
she would look like a million dollars, she always did. make-up, no make-up, hair groomed
or thrown up messily off her face, aly always had him catching himself staring. izaak had
spent the afternoon hanging lights, tucking food into a picnic basket, digging an old suit
out from the deepest and darkest corners of his closet. it was possibly going to be one of
the most romantic things he had ever done for a girl and all of it was his own special way
of saying thank you, sorry, i missed you but most of all, and terrified he was to admit it, i
love you. alianne was the light at the end of the deepest and darkest tunnel he had ever
had to venture down, how could he not love her? but how could he ever say it out loud to
her when he couldn’t even admit it to himself? izaak jay hadn’t felt like this since alexis
had been in his life and she had left it so quickly that he hadn’t even had time to brace
himself. who was to say that the same couldn’t happen with aly? once had been far too
much, izaak wasn’t even sure that he would have made it through if it weren’t for his best
friend. if he opened himself up like this there was no going back, it wasn’t something he
could duck out of, there was no off switch. the only question now was, was he ready for it?

one would think that after having spent all week in suits, izaak would have been used to it
by now but he couldn’t shake the perpetual yearn for a favourite, worn pair of jeans as he
took the few stairs up to his girlfriend’s front door. to his surprise the young man found that
he was quaking a little on the inside, nervous even as he faced the door. would the truth
just all slip out tonight and was he okay with that? but the young man scolded himself and
wrestled with his cuffs, this was aly, this was his aly and he was being downright ridiculous
because there was no need at all to be nervous. so as one of his hands reached out to rap
against the door, the other tightened around the dethroned stem of a single crimson red
rose and he told himself silently to breathe.

Alianne Faith Cooper stood in front of her full length mirror in her walk in closet, running her fingers down her short amethyst and black dress. It was a little thing, strapless and perfect for the warm summer air. It really brought out the purple hues in her irises as she stared at her reflection. She had specifically chosen this dress for that very reason. It was reserved for the occasions when she was trying to look her best. Her sandy blonde hair was curled and the ends, left down to flow around her shoulders. It had been a little over a week since she last saw her gorgeous boyfriend. He had been away on a business trip, getting a sponsership dealing with surf boards. It was an exciting chance for Izaak and Aly was thrilled with it all. It pleased her to see him happy but she had missed him a great deal in the past week. Tonight would be their reunion as well as a celebration for Izaak's success.

Izaak had intentionally hid the details of tonight from her much to her annoyance. The suspense of the surprise and details was enough to drive the beautiful blonde insane. Since his revelation Aly had sat at home, trying to figure out where he might be taking her. It was maddening. The only details he had let slip was the fact she should dress up. Not that it was any help trying to figure out where they were going. Aly grabbed her shoes out of the closet, putting the tall heels on. They would make her about even with Izaak, or just a bit shorter. They also made her legs look even longer, if that was possible. At that moment, she hear a rap on the front door downstairs. The corners of her mouth turned upwards. Izaak Jay Finch. Alianne sprinted down the stairs, catching sight of her twin on the couch. Aly grinned at Alex and winked. "See ya!" she said as she headed for the front door.

The blonde girl opened the door slowly, taking in the details of the man before her. He was dressed to impress in a black suit, looking as dashing as ever, though Aly though she preferred his swim trunks. The suit just didn't do his muscular build justice. Her violet eyes scanned him, spotting the beautiful ruby rose in his hand. They finally rested on his face, locking in with his deep azure eyes. The clash of colors was just as mesmerizing as ever. She couldn't help but consider herself lucky to be able to call him her boyfriend. She smiled up at him, her stomach doing a nervous flip. "Is that for me?" she said, her tone playful and excited.

one twist of the handle and one click of the lock saw izaak’s stomach turn excitedly inside
of him and stir up the jittery feelings that the thought of aly could initiate. then as a sliver
of light slipped out from the ever opening crack in the door and pooled out onto the street
izaak felt his teeth catch on his lower lip, suppressing the wild grin that he just knew made
him look like the happiest bastard out. there was no need to make the neighbours jealous.
but as alianne cooper, his best friend now girlfriend, stepped right on into the space where
the wooden detail had once faced him, izaak begun to wonder if anybody would notice the
man whose arm she was on at all. the girl was a vision no doubt, she’d turn any number of
heads, snag bucket loads of longing glances and plenty of wagging tongues. however she
wasn’t theirs, they didn’t get to press their lips against the gentle sweet touch of hers, they
couldn’t hold her close and feel her heart thud in time against their chests, they can’t have
possibly been able to gaze into the amethyst of her eyes just as izaak had done so many
times before, just as he was doing right now in that very split second. and then with his jaw
wide open, hanging in awe of his stunning girlfriend, izaak jay gave in to his eyes desire to
sweep down her heavenly frame. he was reminded of quite a different old time way back
when he and isabella had been dating and how her fantastical veela charm had wound its
way all the way around his head, his heart, his body over and over and over. but alianne
wasn’t a veela and every inch of what he was feeling, the palpitations of his heart, the rush
of desire through his veins, the dreamy stare his azure eyes had conjured up, was all very
real and so was she. his gaze swept down her legs, they seemed to go on forever as they
teetered tall in a pair of impressive heels. in fact izaak was half tempted to skip out on the
entire date just so that he could turn her right back around and lead her into the intimate
confines of her bedroom. for one thing though izaak was sure that alex was still in and for
another the young couple had only ever reached second base before. it was vital that he
took their relationship slowly, else he risked losing it. and although he felt as if he was truly
ready to take that final step with alianne now, he was a romantic through and through and
he wanted their first time with each other to be far more special than a quickie before they
headed out for the night. she was worth more than that, alianne faith was worth his world.

izaak was so bowled over by his girlfriend’s beauty that his speech and his ability to move
his mouth had become explicitly impaired. it took him but a moment to realise that she had
been speaking to him. and so regained his composure with a quick shake of his head and
a sheepish grin. the rose suddenly seemed to fabricate in his hand and izaak realised he
was still holding it, so as he fingered its red velvet petals he peeked his head cheekily over
aly’s shoulder and said in serious tones, “uh i got it for alex actually, is he in?” as he spied
his girlfriend’s twin brother on the couch just inside, izaak chuckled a little and gave the
younger man a wave. as much as he really did enjoy alex’s company this night was aly’s
and aly’s alone, so he stepped back and offered her the rose and a kiss against her cheek
as well. “i’ve missed you so much.” the man breathed into her ear as he remembered how
he had been counting down the hours until he could see her since he had woken up that
morning. there were so many things that they needed to catch up on, but they could do
that over dinner. right now izaak had a night to introduce her to. “and you look so beautiful
aly.”
as he sealed his words with a short sweet kiss izaak stepped in closer to his girlfriend
and cuddled her into his chest, aparating them away from her townhouse without much of
a fair warning.

the young couple appeared again in obsidian harbour. Being that it was a weeknight, there
were hardly any folk out in the shadowed streets, all the shops had shut up until morning
and the two were graced with the delicious feeling that the town was all theirs for the night.
with a silent smile, izaak slipped his hand into aly’s and curled them together as he led her
a little way down the street to round the corner. It felt so good and natural to be this close
to her and despite that they had only been dating three months, izaak could not help but to
feel that aly was his life after alexis because judging by the way he felt when he was with
her, he couldn’t imagine ever wanting to leave her. she had changed him in ways that no
one else had been able to, she had stuck by his side through every last sleepless night
and those mornings that he couldn’t for the life of him get out of bed, she had changed him
for the better. and wasn’t that what love was? izaak really needed to stop second guessing
himself and allow the night to take its own course and if that meant offering up his feelings
over the picnic blanket then so be it. they rounded a corner to meet with the edge of the
park and were instantly greeted by a delightful sight. there were threads of fairy lights all
tangled up in practically every tree and every branch that surrounded the fountain, which
was a spectacular show of glowing, sparkling light all on its own. and right by it, just out of
reach of its mist was a picnic blanket spread out on the ground, dotted with the warm glow
of tea lights. a picnic basket to its left held all the good stuff, the champagne, the food, the
chocolate covered strawberries. it was all for alianne cooper and izaak knew that with her
hot dogs in new york would have felt like a million dollars. but for all that she had done and
the happiness she made him feel, izaak wanted to do something extra special. and where
better to have it than the very spot where they had first met? this place right here marked
the beginning of something new for him and undoubtedly for alianne too and there was no
way that he’d ever forget it. “surprise?” he murmured warmly as his arm found the curve of
her waist.

Alianne's bright violet eyes drank in the sight of Izaak Jay Finch as he stood in her doorway, mouth hanging open in almost a goofy look. He looked in awe of her appearance, much like she had hoped that he would be. Izaak definitely did not disappoint. The corners of Aly's mouth turned up as she tried not to laugh at the sight. The way his azure eyes gazed into hers made cold shivers run down her spine in a new, unexpectedly pleasant way. Aly had never felt this way about anyone her entire life. Every touch, look, word, moment was cherished by the twenty one year old. A thrill shot through Alianne's chest as Izaak's beautiful azure eyes swept along her figure, appraising it, seemingly liking what he saw. As her violet eyes swept along him, she also liked what she saw. Izaak looked just as handsome as ever, maybe even more so tonight, if that was possible. Her eyes finally stopped on his face, seeing the look on his face as one of happiness. Alianne was reminded of a very different look on his face the last time she had seen him dressed up like this. It had been one of utter despair, pain, and guilt. Aly had saved him from slipping off the cliff that day, keeping Izaak with her. Since that day, there had been long, sleepless nights where Aly had stayed up all night just talking and soothing her best friend. He had needed her for support back then but it was no longer the case. Alianne had become the handsome young man's girlfriend, progressing naturally from their easy friendship.

It seemed to take Izaak a moment to comprehend Aly's words. Long enough that it made her wonder if he was as caught up in her as she was in him. There was no denying it. Alianne's heart swelled at the mere sight of the twenty-two year old. Each moment she spent with him only left her thirsty for more moments where she had his attention. Each touch was like a spark on her tan skin, an electric pulse between them. It had taken twenty one years but Alianne Faith Cooper had finally fallen in love. There was not another person on the face of the planet who was as deserving of this love as Izaak Jay Finch was. He was her best friend, the one she could trust above all others to understand her. He never pressured her or seemed to be bothered by the fact that she had yet to find a passion in this life as her parents, and sometimes twin, did. When Izaak did finally speak, he had Aly rolling those gorgeous amethyst eyes at his jesting as he replied that the red rose he held belonged to Alex. Aly shook her head, not suppressing her laughter. "Oh I'm sorry. Alex? Izaak has come to take you on a date." she teased lightly, her violet eyes dancing wickedly. Alex chuckled at the banter, leaving his sister to her own devices but waving at Izaak in greeting. Alianne grinned at her brother, shaking her head. The blonde knew how fond Alex was of Izaak. Her twin had already declared him the best suitor Aly had ever enchanted. Alex was also the only one who knew about the young couple's secret relationship. It was hard to keep something from a nosy brother that you lived with but Iz hadn't seemed to mind that Alex knew. In fact, the two young men seemed to get along splendidly. It wasn't surprising since the twins were similar in so many ways that it would have been impossible for Izaak not to have felt the same kindred spirit with Alex.

Alianne Faith grinned when Izaak stepped back, offering her the rose that he had in his hand. Aly faked a look of surprise; a gasp escaped her lush lips. "For me!? Oh my my my..." she said, in her best Scarlett O'Hara voice. Amusement twinkled in her beautiful eyes as she saw him draw closer to her. Her pulse quickened as he kissed her on her cheek and whispered in her ear. His words warmed her heart as they echoed throughout it. The blonde was pretty sure she could guess just how much he missed her since her own feelings were mirroring Izaak's. His brief kiss made her feel slightly lightheaded, as all his kisses did. They always sent Aly's head reeling and her heart racing. A coy smiled appeared on the bright young woman's face as Izaak's words warmed her heart. Izaak's arms wrapped caressingly around her as Aly snuggled into his chest. Without any warning from her beloved boyfriend, she felt the all too familiar tugging from her navel area as they apparated away from her house. When Aly's feet landed on solid ground once more, she looked around, easily recognizing the Harbour. It was a place she came often to shop, eat, or just hang out. The blonde looked at her boyfriend as he smiled at her but didn't explain what they were doing. Aly tried not to get frustrated; it would be a few more minutes before she too was in on the secret. Alianne tried to keep her patience as the young pair walked silently through the seemingly abandoned streets. Her hand was wrapped up in his as they walked down the dark street. It was only moments before they rounded the corner where the fountain sat. Alianne's jaw dropped as she looked at the magnificent scene in front of her. Amethyst irises were bright with the twinkling lights that had been hung all over the little courtyard where the fountain was. Her wide eyes looked around as she vaguely heard Izaak whisper surprise. Aly was too in awe of everything he had painstakingly done. The young woman knew of her boyfriend's distaste for magic and realized it would have taken him hours to do this all by hand. Izaak had to have spent all day prepare all of this just for her at the place where their oddly colored eyes at first clashed together. Tears welled in Aly's eyes as the sight before her choked her up. The blonde woman turned to her boyfriend with a look of awe and love in her violet eyes. "Izaak this is beautiful." she said sincerely. "Really. It is amazing." she told him, shaking her head in slight disbelief at all the effort had had undergone. Never had there been a person willing to do as much for Alianne Faith Cooper as Izaak Jay Finch just had.

painting a portrait all over my heart
the sight he had shaped the fountain into and the lights that glittered in compliments about
it was a vision, izaak wasn’t going to be unnecessarily humble and deny his handicraft its
suited credit. besides, gestures were always so much more substantial without the aid of a
wand. but despite the wonderland he had sculpted for the pair of them alone beneath the
starry night sky, izaak much preferred a different sight altogether. there was something oh
so stunning about miss cooper that, even as he stared right down the barrel and observed
her reaction to his surprise in affectionate silence, the azure-eyed man still could not place
his finger upon. he thought about all the moments, the minutes, the hours and the days he
had spent straight with her and realised that it was quite possibly something that he would
never in this life time figure out. the way she captivated him was a mystery, the way she
had made his heart race just when he’d thought that nobody else after alexis would have
the capability to was unexplainable and how it felt to fall in love with a girl like alianne faith
cooper... well that was just too spectacular for words. there was not a smile so bright in the
entire of obsidian harbour as the one on izaak finch’s hazed expression nor one quite as
goofily in love because as the young man saw his girlfriend tear her gaze away from the
sight before them, he lit up brighter than any fairy light hung upon the highest branch of
the tallest tree. it was plain to any ordinary fool; the man was in love with his best friend.

beneath the lights alianne’s eyes seemed to twinkle unnaturally but it wasn’t until he really
and truly dug deep into those beautiful gems of amethyst that he realised she was on the
verge of crying too. izaak’s expression fell, hard, and into the most concerned of frowns
that one might have ever laid eyes upon. had he done something wrong? did she not feel
the same way after all? was he pushing this too fast? not that izaak saw exactly how the
latter was possible. however all these buzzing, pressing, urgent thoughts stopped in their
frantic dart around his head as aly’s words left her lips. there was no such thing that he
had done wrong, those were tears of happiness pooling in his girlfriend’s eyes and alexis
had wept the very same ones when he had gotten down on one knee to propose to her.
they were powerful things, there was no doubt about it and they reminded izaak, not that
he needed reminding though, that aly wasn’t just any old girlfriend. there was something
so strong between them that izaak didn’t think would ever break. he tucked aly right into
his side with a strong arm that curled around her and pressed his lips sweetly against the
corner of her eye. “well,” he began as he walked her towards the picnic mat with a smile
dancing in the very blue of his irises. “i think you deserve even more baby girl. i've been
such a shitty boyfriend lately. i mean, i couldn’t even be your valentine.”
although izaak
was grinning he didn’t want to be known as that guy, the one that always missed holidays,
forgot anniversaries, birthdays, the whole shebang. he had never exactly been that guy to
begin with but there was nothing like a new relationships to cement these impressions.

the soles of his only pair of designer shoes and the spikes of alianne’s impressive heels
very soon were at the edge of the picnic blanket. but izaak wanted to greet his girlfriend
properly first, it had been over a week since they had last seen each other after all. and so
he drew aly in from his side and held her lovingly against him, one of his hands finding the
small of her back and caressing her body there with the sweetest of circles. meanwhile the
other slid upwards and cupped against the flushed warmth of her cheek, smoothing his
thumb along it as he inched ever closer to her. the young couple’s lips were locked in an
instant as if neither of them could be deprived of the other for any longer or else they may
just disappear. and for a long time there in their own little world, izaak showed no signs of
taking a break from making out beneath the fairylights with his beautiful girlfriend. however
you know what they said, that all good things must come to an end. but really, for izaak, it
was just a chance for an even better thing to begin. their eyes, once open, clashed in that
spectacular flair of colours. so close, too close, izaak was beginning to lose his head. “i...”
it had been about to slip out! the ‘l’ word had almost been introduced into their relationship.
he hadn’t told aly he’d loved her since before they had started their secretive dating as it
meant something entirely different in this context. but izaak didn’t just love her anymore,
he was in love with her. so why then was it so hard to say? the hand that had been upon
her cheek, the one that had wound up in her hair during their kiss, untangled itself and he
moved it up to rub awkwardly at the back of his neck. “i think that we should pop open the
bubbly.”
it was so obviously not what he had been about to say but just to know that he felt
that way was enough for now, right? izaak squeezed aly’s waist and passed her up one of
his unintentionally sheepish grins, hoping that she’d pretend to forget about it for now.

Alianne Faith was still stunned with Izaak's stunning gesture that she almost missed the flash of concern in his eyes at her tears. Quickly, she wiped the tears away from her violet eyes as Iz placed a muscular arm around her waist, pulling her into his side. Her heart did a flip as she fit perfectly right into Izaak's side. It was almost as if Aly had been made to go with Izaak, all the more solidifying her strong feelings for Izaak Jay. This was something way more than her typical two month relationship where she eventually grew restless and tired of her latest boyfriend. The latest boyfriend was now also her best friend. Alianne had seen both the best and worst of him in the past year but yet there was not one inch of him that she would trade. In Aly's eyes, Izaak Jay Finch was just about as perfect as they came. The bombshell blonde grinned up at that perfect boyfriend as he apologized to her. Aly shook her head in disagreement. While she would have enjoyed more time over the past few months with Izaak, Aly thought he was still best guy she had ever dated. "Oh I don't think I will hold that against you after tonight." Aly teased him slightly as they walked over to the magical wonderland Iz had lit up for them. Alianne wasn't the type of girl to get all worked up over one missed holiday. She was proud of Izaak and his new title as professional surfer. It suited him well in her opinion.

As Alianne's heels stepped off of the cobblestone street onto the soft green grass, she suddenly found herself swept into an embrace by Izaak. Her skin tingled where it came into contact with Izaak's tanned skin. Warmth crept up on Aly's fair, delicate cheekbones as one quick look into those beautiful azure eyes sent her heart racing. She was overtly aware of the exact positions of his hands, one on the small of her back and the other on her blushing cheek. Alianne's breath quickened as his face leaned into hers, his soft lips melting against her own. Aly snaked around his waist, pulling him closer as the kissing intensified. Her lips parted, deepening their kisses as desire rippled through her. Every other thought went out of the blonde's mind as she stood by the fountain, making out with Izaak Jay Finch, a marvel all in its own. Reluctantly, Aly pulled away from the handsome man as she felt her stomach grumble. Her amethyst eyes clashed with azure ones as a smiled spread across her lips. The smiled turned into a frown as Iz began to speak, stopping too short with only one word. However, it changed the mood noticeably. One hand untangled itself from her hair and went to worry the nape of his neck. Confusion and curiosity overwhelmed her brain as he suggested they pop open the champagne. Alianne Faith was positive that it wasn't what he had been about to say. She ignored the curiosity of the unspoken words and let a smile fill up her face.

"Yeah, Definitely." Aly replied without hesitation. She unwrapped herself from around Izaak, allowing him to get the champagne out. Since the young couple was to be sitting down on the picnic blanket for the majority of the date, Aly reached down to undo her shoes. Carefully, the tall blonde slipped out of her impossibly high heels and left them at the edge of the blanket. Alianne walked around the outskirts of the blanket, trying to take in everything that Izaak had so skillfully crafted. She was struck again by the marvel of the twinkling lights against the night sky. Aly turned back to picnic and her boyfriend. She sat down next to the basket, grinning as Izaak handed her a flute full of the liquid. "To us?" she said, raising her glass up for a toast. With that, Aly took a sip of the drink."So what's new?" she asked, half teasing.

painting a portrait all over my heart

at the age of twenty-two it was safe to say that izaak jay finch, like any typical male in the
fading days of his youth, had had his fair amount of experience with the opposite sex. be it
just as friends screaming out their lungs to a song on the car radio or something a little bit
more intimate between the sheets, he’d knew enough to be pleasantly surprised when he
wasn’t pushed and prodded by questions from his girlfriend. izaak knew that aly knew that
champagne hadn’t been what was on his mind, or on the tip of his tongue for that matter, it
was obvious in the way that he’d fumbled for its backup. but he appreciated it all the same
because those words needed to stew in his head for a little longer. he had been head over
heels, madly, irrevocably in love with alexis and she had died just inches from him in a car
he had been responsible for crashing. one could certainly not blame the twenty-two year
old for being apprehensive about opening himself up completely to those wild emotions
once more, not when his deepest and darkest fear was aly being torn from him in exactly
the same way. izaak’s azure eyes kept carefully to his girlfriend, watching her like he’d do
whatever it took to keep her safe and close to him. the young man didn’t think he’d be able
to go through what he had with alexis and reach the light through the tunnel in one piece.
in fact, he was sure he wouldn’t even manage to make it to the light. the direction of his
thoughts shocked izaak as he caught himself. why the morbidity? this was a date, this was
alianne faith cooper, his ray of sunshine, and she was not going anywhere. so izaak took a
breath, calmed his head, uncorked the champagne and poured them each a glass.

izaak finch felt like a lovesick teenager all over again as he watched alianne seat herself
gracefully down beside him. her dress seemed to sparkle like it had a mind all of its own
and yet it kept in perfect harmony with her model-like body while somehow managing to
do those stunning amethyst eyes justice in a way that her boyfriend had never even seen
before. dazzled by her smile, izaak dazedly held out a glass for her to take and thought to
himself that he could just lay kissing her all night if she’d let him. but when she proposed a
toast izaak was snapped instantly from his reverie. a breath of a chuckle leapt up from him
as he shook his head in spite of himself before clinking his glass against his girlfriend’s. “to
us and us finally getting to be together.”
he gave aly a handsome smile and tilted the glass
to allow the alcohol to slide down his throat. with all that was buzzing about his head, that
which he wanted desperately to say but didn’t know if he could, izaak was careful not to
down just that much more of the champagne to calm his strung up nerves, else aly might
realise that there was definitely something on his mind. “so what’s new?” the young man
slid closer to his girlfriend across the picnic blanket until the arms they were leaning on
crossed past each other’s and his lips were close enough that he could have whispered
and she would have heard him. “well...” he began, a sneaking smile on his lips to barely
hide the big news he was busting to tell her. “they want me to compete in the world tour.
all expenses paid, accommodation, airfares... it’s crazy aly.”
as he reached into the picnic
basket, izaak continued to keep his eyes upon that violet gaze and lifted out a gourmet
pizza that he’d taking the liberty of making, as per usual, with his own two hands. after
setting the hot plate down between what little space was left between their bodies, izaak
shifted to give alianne his full attention. “but the thing is, i’ll be gone for a month. so i was
wondering if you wanted to come with me?”
surely another month playing the non-existent
boyfriend would drive izaak insane. it wasn’t as if they had been dating all that long, hell
they hadn’t even slept together yet but alianne cooper wasn’t just a casual relationship in
his eyes – this was going somewhere, he could feel it in the way that he looked at her and
the way that she looked right back at him. his hand found hers and squeezed it tight for a
moment before running up the length of aly’s arm as he waited for her anticipated answer.

Alianne grinned as Izaak raised his glass, finishing her toast in a way that was only to true. Aly laughed as his glass met hers with a soft clink of crystal. The blonde turned her glass up to her lush pink lips, drinking down a few sips slowly as she savored the taste of the champagne. Aly's mind drifted back to Izaak's words, surprised by the intense relief she felt deep down in her very being just to be by his side once more. The twenty two year old had not even realized that she had been feeling anxious without Izaak near her. In the past month, Alianne had been alone more than she had been with Izaak and until this very moment she had not realized just how much she had absolutely abhored the distance. It had merely been an inconvience before and unfortunately she knew that his new job required him to be gone often. Aly's heart ached to be close to her handsome boyfriend, even if they were just sitting beside each other. It was as if Izaak had heard Alianne's secret thoughts as he scooted closer to her, sliding his arm past her own so that their hips were touching. His warm breath on her cheek as he spoke was so distracting that she was dazed for a minute to what Izaak was saying. Her mind took of on a tanget that was all too unappropriate for this moment. For what Aly thinking and so desperately wanting was to on Izaak, kissing him all night long. The young woman tinged pink slightly embaressed at her inner thoughts as she snapped herself back into this moment.

Alianne focused her attention on the words coming out of her boyfriend's mouth, not letting herself be distracted by his perfect physique. Her violet eyes widened in surprise, meeting his azure ones with excitement as she heard his proposition. Izaak Jay Finch wanted to take Aly on a month long trip with him around the world as he surfed and promoted his new company. His hand found hers, giving it a light squeeze before tracing up her arm, threatening to send her hormones into another frenzy. Focus Aly! she scolded herself. "Really? You want me to come?" she asked, her face glowing with excitement. This would be a big step in their relationship but Alianne was completely certain that they both could handle it. This was not one of her typical flings, a short lived relationship. Izaak Jay was her very best friend. Someone who knew her and trusted her with his life and she did the same with him. Not to mention the fact that Aly had already fallen head over heels for the handsome man. The blonde nodded her head, grinning up at Izaak. "If you are sure you can tolerate me that long. I mean gosh! A whole month!" she teased him. In reality, Alianne Faith Cooper had nothing holding her to New Zealand other than her brother and he could take care of himself. Aly didn't have a job so that wouldn't even be an issue. She had always known her underachievement would come in handy one day. "I love to go with you. It sounds so exciting!" she said, happily, as her amethyst eyes clashed beautiful with his. "When are we leaving?" Alianne asked, not giving Izaak a chance to change his mind.

Did she even have to question it? Really? Izaak exsufflated through his nose and gave his girlfriend a glance of sheer disbelief before replying with an obvious, “Of course, baby” and grinning all the while. As if he wouldn’t want her there soaking up the sun and making out with him on the sand when he wasn’t working the surf. But in all seriousness despite the fact that they had only been dating for three months, Izaak didn’t want to be apart from Aly, he had missed her so damn much in his last trip that he had managed to convince himself that something atrocious might happen should he leave her once more. Was this too clingy? Would people think he was dependable, pathetic even for a relationship of three months? Screw them, they didn’t have a single clue as to what Izaak had gone through, nor did they know that for a very long time there this beautiful blonde woman close beside him had been his backbone. Ever since she had dragged him from that cliff edge. Izaak was sure he had never met another young woman on the face of the earth that bubbled with quite as much energy and radiance as Alianne Cooper did. And somehow, in some way, in his life post the accident, she had managed to be the best influence on Izaak ever. The pair were always doing something new, always out of the ordinary, things that reminded Izaak of the person he used to be back in school, back before his dramas with Alexis, back when responsibility had never exactly been an issue. Aly simply made him feel... alive again.

"If you are sure you can tolerate me that long. I mean gosh! A whole month!" Again, Izaak snorted through his nose but this time it was accompanied soon after by his harmonic laughter. It was a joke, quite obviously. But Izaak was aware of the fact that some couples did tend to get under each other’s feet, though he and Aly weren’t just “some couple”, they fell back on the basis of a friendship that no one could possibly undermine. The azure-eyed man leant in closer to the girl he was absolutely, one hundred percent positive that he was in love with and purred near suggestively in her ear, “I’m sure I’ll be able to tolerate you.” His lips grazed the silken softness of her cheek and pressed a tender kiss there whilst the hand that was not supporting his weight placed his glass of champagne on top of the picnic basket and returned only to hold his girlfriend’s hip. Reluctantly he leant back from within the close proximity just to see the sunny smile spread further across his girlfriend’s lips as she gave Izaak her solid answer – and not just a yes, but an “I’d love to”. Izaak could not hold back the brimming grin from Aly any longer, she’d just agreed to take a leap with him in their relationship. Whether she was conscious of that or not, he couldn’t be sure but it was definitely a feat. One whole month together, drunk up on Hawaiian piña coladas and possibly even their love for one another... If Izaak ever found the guts to tell her that he loved her.

The excitement that bubbled from Alianne was nothing short of contagious, he replied to her question without a second’s breath, as eager as she had been off the mark. “It’s not until June but they needed to know numbers, and I figured you could use the time to pack.” The hand that had been resting on her hip slid upwards to jab her waist playfully as he teased her back and a cheeky grin danced over Izaak’s expression. However like every other time he seemed to catch her eye, Izaak found himself falling victim to the bright hues of amethyst that swirled before him. Something that glimmered within them though pummelled him with the confidence boost he’d needed and the young man leant forward into Aly, closing his eyes just in time to sneak one last peek at those magnificent eyes of hers before capturing her lips with his. This kiss was not as brief or as shallow as the majority of the ones that they had earlier this evening. With this kiss Izaak ravished his girlfriend with a hunger he’d never felt as strongly as now, their tongues touched, their tastes collided and he found his nirvana. Sure, Izaak had craved his girlfriend in this manner before but never quite as strongly. Hell, he’d go all the way with her by the park fountain if she’d let him. But the young man managed to break from their kiss long enough to breathlessly confess to Aly three small words he hadn’t said since Alexis. “I love you, Aly.”

Aly would have been lying if she had said that the date of their departure wasn't disappointing to her. She had thought that Izaak's traveling would have been sooner. Aly was unconcious of the way her lips formed a pout and her violet eyes gave away her displeasure at hearing this news. Now that the idea had been introduced into her beautiful blonde head, Alianne wanted to leave tomorrow. It would be a month long getaway with her delicious boyfriend where she would almost have him completely to herself. It was a hard concept for the twenty two year old to fathom. Since their relationship was still hidden from the rest of the world, Aly had to share Izaak a majority of the time, with his work, family, and other friends. Not to mention the fact that she felt like she was still sharing him with Alexis, and that Aly always would be. Izaak would never be completely hers but the blonde was okay with that. Sharing Izaak was undoubtably better than not having him at all. Alianne Faith Cooper was in love with her handsome boyfriend and didn't have any intention of ever letting him go. No one had ever made her feel the way he did when she was in his arms. It was one of a kind. Alianne felt certain that she could search to the ends of the earth and never find another soul so completely perfect for her as Izaak Jay Finch was.

Her heart skipped a beat, increasing her breathing ever so slightly as Izaak purred his words into her ear. It was enough to drive her absolutely mad with desire for her boyfriend. Despite their time together, they had yet to sleep together, something it seemed they were both being extremely careful about. It would be taking their relationship to another level, meaning something else entirely that it had it every single one of her previous relationships. It was most certainly the point of no return. Alianne narrowed her amethyst eyes at Izaak, pursing her lips as if his joke displeased her. "Are you trying to say that I have too many things?" she asked him. The twenty two year old shook her head before laughing. "You might be right. It might take me a month to narrow it down to one suitcase." Aly joked back with Izaak. Aly did have two closets full of clothes but she could live without it. Material possessions were never something she treasured. Every article of clothing was easily replaced or forgotten in Alianne's mind. The only reason she had so many different clothes was her love of shopping.

Alianne's laugh trilled in the darkness of their picnic as Izaak caught her off guard with his tickling of her side. She looked pointedly at him, her violet eyes dancing with amusement in the soft white glittering lights. She was about to give him a quick off the cuff retort that was typical from the blonde when suddenly his soft lips were pressing against hers. There was a hunger behind the kiss that Aly was sure they both felt. Her desire for him intensivied along with the progression of their kisses. Alianne clung to Izaak, not wanting his lips to leave her. The kisses grew to the point where they were most certainly indecent for a public place like this picnic by the fountain was. Alianne was not strong enough to break away from him, like she knew that she should. It was Izaak instead who had to end their kissing, leaving Aly utterly breathless, almost panting for air. Amethyst eyes met azure ones a little sheepishly. Then, the last thing she expected to hear tonight came out of Izaak's mouth. Three little words that he had said to Aly before but that now had a completely different meaning in their current context. Shock crossed her face in surprise as they warmed her heart and flushed her face. "Oh Izaak!" she gasped breathlessly. "I love you too." Alianne confessed her previously unspoken thoughts.

Izaak wasn’t sure if it was the kissing that had robbed him of his last snatch of breath or if it was the leap he had taken with those three words, those eight letters. But all of a sudden it felt as if his brain had been deprived of its source of oxygen, the young man was slowly suffocating in the surprise etched across his girlfriend’s stunning features and there was nothing he could do but to wait as if the moment was playing in slow motion. The last time he had said this was in the last conversation he and Alexis had had before she had died, it was no wonder his chest was so tight. But then the barriers seemed to crumble before his eyes, his name was exclaimed in a voice as breathless as his own felt and those three words, those eight letters slipped from his girlfriend’s lips. This was it, this was his new leaf of love. Who’d have ever thought? Izaak leant into her, close enough now that their noses brushed and teased her softly by keeping his lips sheer millimetres from reach. “Really?” The hopeful, boyish excitement was too overwhelming to contain and just to know that he hadn’t been the only one struggling with his feelings touched a grin to his mouth. “I love you Aly.” This time their lips did brush, but Izaak wouldn’t allow her a kiss instead his smile just seemed to grow wider and wilder with every passing moment. “Like crazy, love you.” Though amidst all the smiling and the teasing, Izaak was craving the kiss of the girl that had just told him she loved him. It was a surprise he had held his own for so long.

Being that his hands were already upon her waist, Izaak tightened them with a firm and steady grip. It almost drove him wild to pluck her out of the close proximity and remove himself from the electrifying tension that had been pulsating between their bodies. “I love you, I love you, I love you” The words tasted so nice on his tongue that he had to repeat them over again into Alianne’s ear as he laid her gently back on the picnic blanket. She really was an angelic vision, lying below him with those blonde curls spread about her like a lustrous halo. Only someone as divine could have possibly lifted him to this turning point in his life. The loving touch of his hands smoothed her stunning dress up and down the length of her sides whilst his mouth found the delicate skin beneath her jawline. Izaak didn’t care that this was a public area, not tonight, not when most were in the comfort of their own homes and when his girlfriend had just told him that she loved him. The ambitious young man was often struck with this inability to contain himself but that just meant he was all the more passionate, right? “Aly” He murmured again from his hover over her, content with paying divine attention to everywhere but her lips at the moment. This wasn’t the pattern that their time together usually followed and Izaak couldn’t help but to wonder if they might just conquer two milestones tonight. Would tomorrow be the morning that he’d finally wake up with her in his arms? Izaak could lie and say that he was completely cool at the prospect, but it had been years since he had had meaningful sex with anyone but Alexis. The thought tugged at Izaak’s head enough to have him break gently away from Aly until he could stare longingly into those amethyst eyes and toy with a lock of hair that framed her pretty face, wondering what she was thinking about in that exact moment.

Alianne Faith watched as Izaak's face lit up into a wide grin at her four little words. The handsome brunette man leaned in close to her, touching his nose to her nose, driving her absolutely crazy. Now that Aly was aware of just how strongly Izaak felt about her, all the blonde woman wanted was his lips on hers. Forget dinner. Izaak's lips were enough for her. Alianne laughed at his question as he echoed the disbelief that she had felt at hearing those three little words slip from Izaak's mouth. "Really." the blonde confirmed, her violet eyes dancing as the twinkling lights caught in her odd eyes. How could Aly do anything but love Izaak? He fit Aly like a glove with his sense of humor, wit, smarts, and looks. The blonde was convinced that she could search through the entire world, every person, muggle or wizard, and she would never find anyone who could even come close to comparing to Izaak Jay Finch. There was no man that could ever come close to captivating Aly so completely as Izaak had. No one could measure up in Alianne Faith's eyes and it was amazing to her that someone so wonderful had come into her life so unexpectantly. It was fate, in her opinion, that brought Alianne to Izaak. A cruel twist had driven away the one woman he thought he would love forever but given him Aly, to heal his wounds. Aly laughed as Izaak was so clearly taughting her with his lips, brushing them lightly across hers but withholding them when she tried sneak in a peck. The sound of those three little words repeating over and over flushed her face and brightened Alianne's dazzling smile. The beautiful blonde was certain that she would never tire of hearing those words even if Izaak said them once an hour for the rest of their lives. "I love you. I think I may since before that day at the zoo." Alianne said with a playful smile. "I was just too afraid to admit it."

Alianne frowned as Izaak started to untangle himself from her. The frown smoothed out of the corners of her mouth as Izaak gently lowered her onto her back so that he was positioned over her. Her hair laid in a tangled mess around her face but she didn't care. Aly was elated with the turn of the events tonight. The hushed tones of Izaak's voice sent shivers up her spine as well as thrilled Alianne Faith. Aly's whole body tingled as Izaak's smooth, soft lips touched her neck, kissing her. The smile would not leave Aly's face as she was wrapped up in her own perfect world with her boyfriend who was just as much in love with her as she was in love with him. The whole villiage could have gone up in flames and Alianne would have been none the wiser. Her amythest eyes were focused on those striking azure eyes. Then, almost abruptly, Izaak stopped kissing her, murmuring only her name. Aly looked up at her boyfriend as she was acutely aware of a lock of her hair in his fingers. Aly wasn't sure where tonight would lead them. It had already exceeded all her expectations of her wildest dreams. "Izaak..." Aly murmured. Then, she hesitated. She was going to ask if he wanted to leave this paradise however, Alianne didn't know where they would go if the did leave. Ever since they had begun dating, Alianne had felt slight awkward going to Izaak and Alexis' house that still contained her pictures everywhere. Alianne knew Alexis would always be a part of Izaak's life and she completely understood that but it felt disrespectful to her memory to go back there to make love to Izaak. On the other hand, Alex was probably still at the house that Aly shared with her twin. While Alex didn't care what Aly did, she wasn't sure if Izaak would care or not. Instead of letting the silence become uncomfortable and awkward, she blurted out the first question that came to mind. "What are you thinking?"

Izaak’s pulse thudded thickly in his neck as azure eyes licked against amethyst, he could faintly hear it in his ears, feel the palpitations in his jittery heart. The man was no fool, this could very well lead to he and Aly sleeping together and yet here he was in sweats over what he positively knew would be a most fantastical experience between them. The truth of the matter was that Alexis had really been the only girl that Izaak had loved like his last breath of oxygen, until Aly had jumped into his life – she literally was his breath, his second chance at life. His and Alexis’ physical relationship had run in parallel with their emotional one; every bit as powerful and unlike anything he had experienced with any other girl and Izaak Finch had a lot of experience. Surely that meant that by consummating he and Alianne’s relationship Izaak would be an open target for all that had destroyed him in Alexis’ passing. It would solidify his vulnerability, there really was no going back when they took this step with each other, neither he nor Aly would want to either. “Izaak...” Blinking his bright blue eyes, now mingling with uncertainty and the initial desire that had throbbed through him, the young man was snapped from his all consuming thoughts. Thankfully. But his name was left hanging in the air by his girlfriend, he noted with curiousity the hesitance on her face and wanted even more desperately than before to know what exactly she had been thinking of. Perhaps she’d be able to steer his stubborn mind in the right direction.

Guessing that the completion of her sentence was made as she asked him what he was thinking, Izaak wondered if it was best to air his anxieties. But as much as it was the truth, the azure-eyed man didn’t want to admit that he was intimidated, even in the least, by the idea of spending a night with Aly. His pride was as swollen as the next male’s. So instead, he grazed his thumb over her cheek and kissed the skin he had touched tenderly, as if she were the most precious thing in all the world. “I’m thinking about lots of things baby.” Now with his hand against her upper waist, Izaak began thoughtfully tracing the beaded detail of the dress she was wearing. A thought zipped into his head, a cheeky grin splashed onto his lips and Izaak leant forward to hush it heatedly into her ear. “Especially how this dress would look as equally amazing off as it does on.” Despite the calamity his heart was wrecking through his chest and the nervous twist in his stomach, Izaak knew that this was what he wanted, Alianne Faith Cooper was exactly what he wanted. And all of a sudden that desire seemed so urgent, so irrepressible that he personally felt that it couldn’t wait. “I want you Aly.” By this time he had resumed his hover over her and although was speaking softly, was not whispering. Their eyes met, powerful, invigorating, they stirred something bigger in Izaak and he had to catch his breath. “Right here, right now if you’d have me... Or you know, we could always just go back to yours.” He shrugged his shoulders comically, as if proposing a challenge to his girlfriend. He and Isabella had gotten down and dirty in the sand after all, all those many years back. There was nothing that a charm couldn’t fix, even if Izaak preferred not to exercise magic.

Alianne's heart was racing with the adrenaline that she felt at being this close to Izaak Jay Finch. The blonde was alert to every touch, every caress that made the blood pump quickly through her veins. Izaak Jay was the type of guy that had that effect on girls. The one where the simple sight of Izaak had all of the girls panting, wanting to be in his bed with him before they even knew his name. Izaak seriously was that incredibility good looking. The effect was twice as strong on Aly since she knew how amazing Izaak was not just on the outside but also on the inside. Izaak was more than just an physically attractive man. He was charming, intelligent, humorous, hard working, and had a wit that matched Aly herself. Aly knew just what a good catch Izaak was and she didn't want to do anything to threaten that. Though Alianne Faith was most certain that sex with Izaak would be unlike any other she had ever experienced. The blonde violet eyed young woman had been with quite a few men herself but no one that she had ever had a deeper connection with. It was enough to have any normal girl scared out of her mind. It would be fantastic, that was a given, but she would be opening her whole heart to him, no safety net. But hey, when had Alianne Faith Cooper ever been afraid of taking risks? Aly was no normal girl and Izaak was no normal boy. They were best friends. She knew him inside and out. Nothing would tear them apart. Their short relationship was a strong, stable one and intimacy would only strengthen it that much more. Alianne was certain of that.

Izaak's challenging words had Alianne's amethyst eyes narrowing as she stared back into those shocking blue tones. "That's awful big talk..." Aly whispered into Izaak's ear as he kissed her throat. Her voice sounded sultry without her working to make it that way. It was the heat of the moment, intensifying everything. The blonde knew that Izaak had framed his words in such a way on purpose. Izaak knew his girlfriend all too well. He knew that Aly would never turn down a challenge, direct or indirect. Aly caught Izaak's lips with her own, deepening their kiss. Slowly, she moved her lips right out of Izaak's reach, not allowing him to kiss her. "Bring..it..on." Alianne told him with a smirk on her lips. The young blonde beauty had just returned the challenge, leaving it up to him to decide. Alianne Faith was giving her boyfriend the okay to take the next step in their relationship, right in the middle of the Harbour. Right next to the fountain that they had once had a water fight in on their very first meeting. Alianne's fingers traced Izaak's jaw line, meticulously making their way down his neck to the front of his shirt. Button by button, Alianne loosened Izaak's shirt until his bare, well muscled chest was revealed. Aly's soft lips gently pressed against his jaw line as she got his shirt off of him. Alianne's arms went around Izaak's bare back, feeling the toned muscles as she continued to press her lips against his skin.

Something had taken over Izaak Finch, possessed him with the spirit of an incorrigible animal as he payed his undivided attention to his girlfriend’s silky soft skin. He knew he shouldn’t let himself go too far, he knew how he could get and he didn’t want to rush their first time with each other. But all he felt was Alianne’s sweet breath hot and sultry in his ear, the words she spoke were lost on him but Izaak hummed in agreement with them anyway. In his defence though, at their age three months was a long time to be dating someone without consummating the relationship. It weren’t as if they hadn’t had any opportunities, there had been countless. But Izaak had just needed time for his heart to catch up with the rest of him. And tonight it seemed like it finally had, with a vengeance too. Their lips met once more and Izaak all but consumed his girlfriend entirely. It were as if until he had her completely he just couldn’t seem to get enough. Even then he wouldn’t be so sure of himself. Aly had a mighty fine way of always leaving him panting for more. Tonight seemed to be headed down the same path already when she pulled her lips away from his and out of reach. With the taste of her still heavy upon his tongue, Izaak forced out a desperate moan and attempted to edge his way closer to Aly’s lips. But surprise, surprise – failed in satisfying his craving for her lips again.

He was forced, however, by the three words that she smirked to look at the bigger picture. Those azure eyes widened, only intensifying the striking blue, as he began to grasp the implications of what she had just said. They were actually going to do it, right here and right now on this picnic blanket in the place most important to their young relationship. “Um, I love you.” Izaak chuckled lowly, but Alianne was already dancing her graceful fingers down the length of his chest, popping open buttons as she went. The young man couldn’t help but to shiver where she grazed his muscles, they tensed and flexed in the moonlight. With gratitude he tenderly kissed her cheek whilst she busied herself in undoing it. Izaak was sure there weren’t many girlfriends in the world who were as bold and as carefree as his. Their guys just didn’t know what they were missing out on. When the unnecessary folds of clothing had been discarded from his torso, when Aly’s lips suckled onto his jaw line and her hands began to explore his back and the muscles that rippled beneath her wandering caress, Izaak fastened his arms lovingly around his girlfriend and lifted her up into his lap. “Mmm, hello.” He growled playfully and fiddled with the zipper of her beautiful dress absentmindedly before capturing her lips for the countless time that night. For a heated moment Izaak allowed his tongue to tango against hers as he dragged down the zip. His square hand slipped down past the material and smoothed gentle circles across her spine. But Izaak halted the lip lock to offer Aly one final choice, to make sure that this was definitely what she wanted. “Last chance babe...” He murmured as he gazed straight into the stunning amethyst hues of her eyes.
