With the addition of the role of Quidditch captain and prefect to his already time consuming roles of brotherhood president and prince of flowers, Archie was finding himself with even less free time that year. He barely had enough time to cuddle with Orwell, let alone find a spare moment to scribble and send an owl to his friend Quinn. Owls were their preferred and only means of communication during the school year and Archie worried that the beaux boy would be mad he had not sent anything earlier. Thus being part of reason he was sending a letter halfway through the semester, rather than a week or two into classes (which was still late, in his opinion). He sighed heavily after making his way up to the owlery and quickly gave his letter to one of the closest owls, watching it fly away. Archie really did miss Quinn, despite what his actions and his incredibly late owl would have anyone believe. He hoped the response he got from the other boy wouldn't be laced with too much annoyance. ​

I'm really sorry that I haven't sent you something earlier. I'm now a prefect and captain of Gryffindor's quidditch team! It's so crazy and scary but also really awesome! It's also why I haven't sent you an owl until now because I'm super busy juggling everything. How do grown ups do this?! I have no time for Orwell or you, or even myself.

I miss you a lot, and I hope your year is going well so far. By the way, I've told Orwell all about you and he wants to meet you the next time we're all on holidays! I told him we should all get ice cream at the beach like we did that one time!

I'm not sure what else to write besides I MISS YOU AND I'M SORRY, so I've made a little bracelet of flowers from the wild patch for you. Orwell charmed it or something, so it won't die straight away. Please don't be mad at me for not writing before.
