Re-entering the busy chamber after a brief intermission for the duelists to recuperate, Katherine gestured again for the two combatants to take their places on opposite ends of the platform. There was no need for another run down on the rules at this point, since both parties had overcome two opponents already. There was some sense of pride in seeing how far the woman's own son had come, unsure if Aeon would make it this far at the start of the duels, though there was no doubt that the duel against Kingsley would be more challenging for him. Stepping away from the platform as soon as the professors were in position, the Headmistress took her place on a further elevated podium, and raised her hands for attention. "Duelists, prepare yourselves." The woman called, allowing the two a moment to bow. "Commence."

Surprise was the reigning feeling running through her head. Having beaten the school's Charms professor had given her some confidence, but she was still surprised at her success. It wasn't as if the woman went around dueling every day, though she had enough masked aggression from everything that had taken place over the past twelve months of her life to make dueling not a terrible idea.

Bowing to her opponent, Cyndi got herself in position and readied herself to begin as soon as the Headmistress gave the word. The Gryffindor attempted to cast a spell meant to tighten Professor Summers' robes around his body. She'd watched his matches and had a feeling that subtlety would be key here, well that and actually hitting him with spells.

Aeon hadn't totally expected to make it to his third round, but perhaps a small part of him had. It wasn't nearly as easy as say, riding a bike again for the first time in years, but it did come with the same sense of familiarity, and the more the man dueled, the more assured he felt. Keeping to the branch of magic he was most proficient in was also benefitting him so far. He wasn't sure he'd be doing so well if he'd used anything but.

Summers bowed to his opponent and raised his wand to cast his first spell - not fast enough, it seemed, as Kingsley's spell made contact with him first, and he felt his robes tightening around his body. It was the same sort of tactic he'd used in prior duels, and the Transfiguration professor had not expected to be on the receiving end of the same spell. Already he was having difficulty moving his arms, and it was a strain to bend them enough to touch his wand to his robes. "Evanesco." He breathed, vanishing the constricting fabric from his body. It faded away, leaving him in the light, plain clothing beneath. "Incarcerous!" Summers followed up once his mobility returned. Thick ropes were conjured from his wand tip, in an effort to restrain Cyndi in much the same way.

Professor Kingsley wasn't going to get caught by that again. As the ropes shot towards her, she managed a quick shield charm. She rubbed at her wrist, phantom pains from the first match. Quickly, she cast a spell to send a tongue tying curse his way. It wouldn't stop him from using his wand, but it would force him to use nonverbal spells and not everyone was good at those.

Aeon's start had been sloppy, but now that he'd had his chance to recover, he was prepared to win. The man threw up a magical barrier to protect himself from the incoming spell, which shimmered back out of existence as the spell bounced away. Though he was capable of non-verbal magic - at least, when it came to the branches of Transfiguration - a tied tongue would have certainly made the duel a lot more difficult. There'd been some shouting from the audience as the animagus worked to defend himself, because of course the Gryffindor Head of House had a group of supporters, and so Aeon fired back with a feline transfiguration spell. Lions were cats after all, so it seemed fitting to try.

The professor knew the room was loud. It was a small chamber, the echoes near deafening . On occasion, she heard shouts for herself as this time. Smiling to acknowledge the support, the woman cast another shield charm to defend herself. It was cheesy but it worked. Cyndi sent a tickling charm Aeon's way in response. Similar to the bat-bogey hex, if it landed he'd be 'attacked,' not by bats but by feathers.
Action(s) Taken: Seeing if Aeon has a sense of humor

A tickling charm was a spell one might not consider useful outside of general mischief, but in a duel it could certainly decide on the victor, depending on just how ticklish a person was. Aeon was, unfortunately, quite ticklish, so he wasted no time in conjuring up another shield to defend himself from the incoming spell. The last thing he needed was to be incapacitated by a laughing fit. When the shield faded, the animagus fought back with a spell aimed toward Kingsley's feet, rather than the professor herself, in an effort to transfigure the platform under her into a gaping maw to swallow the woman into its hollow interior.
Action(s) Taken: Does not have a sense of humour. Cast two spells
