Penelope had always loved the Hogwarts grounds, she knew she would miss them after graduating at the end of the year. It was early in the semester and still somewhat cold, but occasionally they had some nice early-spring weather. Penelope had decided to take a break from her homework to take a walk outside, finding herself near the lake where she found a small patch of pretty wildflowers. She loved flowers and enjoyed picking them, though she never dared to do so in the gardens. Deciding that these were probably alright to pick, Penelope started doing so, picking out a nice colorful few. She smiled as she looked at them, maybe she could find a vase somewhere and spruce up the common room a bit, surely Professor Carter wouldn't mind?

Ruto couldn't say she found herself indoors very much. The only thing that kept her indoors were classes, and that was the main reason why she disliked them so much. Since she had some free time, Ruto decided she would head out to the grounds and get some fresh air. With her hair flowing in the wind behind her, she let her feet take her to wherever they wanted to go. It was a nice spring day, with a few new flowers growing around the lake. She wondered if anyone maintained the flowers there, as she knew the flowers in the gardens were cared for by the wild patch, but it didn't appear anyone were looking after the wildflowers, and that was perhaps the best part about them - that they could appear naturally beautiful without any assistance.

As Ruto stared at the wildflowers for some time, she noticed an older girl heading towards them. She began picking them and it seemed as though she was making her own bouquet. Roo couldn't help herself, so she approached her. "That's quite a lovely bouquet you have there. Did you ask the flowers before you picked them?" Ruto didn't mind very much, as she was sure they appreciated that the girl liked them so much to be taking them into her care, but she just wanted to see what the girl would say.

Penelope was lost in her own world and didn't notice the girl approaching her until she spoke. She jumped a little, startled, then turned around. She smiled as she recognized Ruto, a fellow prefect, but her smile dropped slightly at her question. Was she serious? Or was she making fun of her in some way? "Er, no. Should I have?" She asked, glancing at the flowers as if she expected to see they had ears she hadn't noticed before. She then returned her gaze to the Ravenclaw with a slight frown.
