Having just finished up with the 'Meet and Greet' session she'd put together for the Kynleigh decided to change her clothes before heading down to the gardens. There was one person that she hadn't seen since school had let out for the holidays and she couldn't believe that she actually missed him. Somewhere over the course of the last year Kynleigh and Elijah had grown to be good friends. Where other people thought her to be strange or act odd, her Hufflepuff friend seemed to not mind how she behaved and accepted it as normal. Kynleigh rarely missed anyone with the exception of her parents when she was at school so she found it strange to have missed Elijah, but she still did nonetheless.
Before she had left her dorm room she'd sent a letter to him seeing if he had to the time if he wanted to catch up and talk down in the school gardens. She figured she'd give him about fifteen minutes and if he didn't show up she'd catch him at another time. It was chilly outside so she pulled her new jacket tighter around her. While she liked her new clothes her parents had bought for her she missed her old ones, they were well worn, but the new clothes had been a necessity due to her recent growth spurt. The Gryffindor had grown close to three inches and had filled out in places that now made her somewhat self-conscious about her appearance. Several of the boys in her house had seemed to notice as they now smiled at her while giving her the once over whereas they used to avoid her and call her a freak or a geek behind her back. She wondered if Elijah would notice the changes. Some part of her hoped so, but the other part hoped he didn't because things like that made boys weird and the last thing she wanted was for the Hufflepuff to act strange around her. In all reality he was her only friend at the school and while Kynleigh liked to be by herself the majority of time, but the time they spent together was nice too.
When she finally reached the gardens she noticed that there wasn't much in bloom, but there was something strangely beautiful about it. It was mostly bare and still which was probably why she liked it there so much. She found a bench and stretched out on it, looking up at the sky. The clouds were thick today, but there was some patches of blue trying to peek through which meant there was a sun up there somewhere trying to break out and shine down on the day.
