Maka had been at the school a few days by now and he was still fairly unsure where things were. this morning was a fairly big achievement for him, it was the first time he had found the great hall without getting lost or making a wrong turn once. this did come at a slight cost mind. he was a little later than usual arriving and looking around he saw that most of the seats were filled and the air was also filled with the daily post arriving. he wandered down the length of the hufflepuff table and eventually found a seat between some older students two thirds of the way down as someone was leaving. he sat down and was just reaching for the sausages when an owl landed in front of him. he didn't recognise the bird and it was holding a scarlet envelope. "shoo wiroop [owl], you got the wrong man" he said however when the bird dropped the letter he saw the name on the side did indeed say maka and then it started to smoke. oh no. please don't be... he thought not able to finish the thought before a terrible echoing screech of laughter erupted from it echoing around the room. hahahahah kooniny [youngest child] Maka, yu go' hufflepuff. you foo'. couldn't you 'ave at least tried to coco it up t' ge' ravenclaw, oo are a' least an-'alf respect'ble 'ouse. not as grea' as slytherin, or even gryffindor like low but still a heap betta than the badger. mabe ya should have stayd home with Zab, as you the only one of our mob 'oo can stan' 'er." it screechedin his sisters voice, her accent strong before cackling again and catching on fire. he hoped the echoing hopefully making it hard to understand to people who were not as used to the thick australian accent she had. he looked down and his still empty plate as he could feel people staring his direction.

I can't be bothered writing Maya's accent but she is obviously Australian! Much dedication to you, Mia! P.s. Hope you don't mind me joining!

Maya was happy to be back at school. She had stayed home for most of the break and not really gone anywhere. She had taken most of the time to spend with her brothers when they weren't at school and she hung out with her friends at the hole. It had been a lot of fun most of the time, when she wasn't getting sun burnt anyway. She had to admit she kind of resented obtaining her father's skin and being the only one who had done so. She was beginning to think her mother wasn't her mother, but she knew that wasn't true. She had the baby pictures to prove it. Even then she had been as white as a sheet. Shaking her head, Maya headed to the Hufflepuff table and quickly sat herself down near her favourite food. Not that she really had a favourite food, but what Australian child didn't like sandwiches with chocolate spread? Though she wished they had nutella here. Because Nutella was one of her most favourite spreads. They also had no milo, why no milo? Was it just because it was a muggle thing?

She was only a couple of minutes into her eating when there was a disturbance quite near her. Looking across the table, Maya noticed that there was a boy who seemed to be fretting over some sort of letter. She was about to ask him what was wrong when a screeching sort of voice came from it. Maya blinked and had to cover her ears. It was so loud! When it was finished, Maya looked at the boy and noted that he seemed to be slightly disturbed. Maya felt sorry for him, she would have been upset if someone sent a screeching letter to her, she supposed she was lucky to be muggleborn then. Moving to the other side of the Hufflepuff table, Maya smiled down at the boy. "Are'ya okay? That sounded kinda serious. Is there anythin' I can do to help ya?"

[[I for some reason only write the accent for una, the other kicketts have it but i don't type it.]]

There were fa few people starting to laugh nervously as the remains of the burnt letter settled on the desk. seriously una. he felt like telling her. how did she expect him to fit in, or make friends if the first thing people related him to was receiving a mocking howler in the post, she was certainly the kind of person who acted way, way before she thought it through, that kind of thing was what got her in so much trouble over the years, and get her in so many fights, though thankfully her family loyalty meant that she also always stuck up for him in whatever respect against anyone except Lowan which was great. he was just about to pick up some vegimite on toast to take and eat elsewhere but he couldn't see the spread when he heard a voice talking to him in an accent that almost made him feel like he was back home. "'t's 'kay cous. jus' ma sistr tryin'a be funny." he said after even years at home he was so used to calling people cousin it came out without him thinking. looking up and he was a little surprised to realise he was talking to a rather pretty blonde girl, that was not who he was expecting the voice to look like. "If you didn' pick up before i'm Maka" he said deciding he may as well introduce himself to the friendly girl and not rely on Una's rant to do the job.
