Pink rose for Arvel

Arvel Ayers, if Sam remembered correctly, was in her brother’s house - something Xavier had mentioned when she had asked him just the other day. When she had received the list of all the people she had to deliver these roses too. So far all the roses had been yellow, which meant friendship, but this next one was more interesting. She tried not to smirk as she asked, politely, a passing hufflepuff if they could please call Arvel for her, because naturally she could not get into the common room (not that she had any such desire). The blonde leaned against the wall as she waited.

When Arvel was told somebody was asking for him at the door, he knew this had to be a rose from Analei. He'd been waiting eagerly for it all morning, assuming (perhaps arrogantly) that she would send him one. He put down his homework and went straight to find out who it was, hoping it wouldn't be Nixon, or Jacob, or someone else super awkward. But it was Sam, whose name Arvel had only paid attention to because she looked quite a lot like Analei. Every now and then he would see Sam in the corridors and almost mistake her for his friend. "Hi," he said, knowing he didn't need to introduce himself to her.

Sam glanced up when she heard a voice and she smiled when she saw the boy she was looking for. "Hello," she replied, standing up properly again and no longer leaning against the wall. "This is for you," she got straight to the point as she held out the pink rose, without a note. Some people did not want to waste time or words with a piece of paper. Or maybe this person who had sent Arvel the rose just didn’t want him to know who it was, just yet. But then again, what was the point of sending one if you didn’t want your crush to find out you like them?
