Somehow, Somewhere

Akihiro walked along the edge of the cliffs, his shoe close enough to the edge that it made little rocks crumble under his weight and fall to the dark area below. One step could be the end of it all. Akihiro wasn't a clumsy person, but he wasn't going to take a chance. Stepping back from the rocky edge, he stayed closer to the other side of the path.

Finally reaching the top, he stretched, his long arms reaching far past his head. A cool wind flew over him, causing his choppy, black hair to move with it in a slow, but fierce dance. His clothes rustled, as if he had gone back five years, back to when his maids had to fix his clothes constantly because an article of his clothing wasn't set properly.

Sighing at the old, foolish memories, he crouched down to the ground and picked up a small pebble. It's edges were jagged, but not sharp, although if you tried hard enough it was possible to hurt yourself with it. Slowly turning the rock between his fingers, he stood and pulled his arm back. With all of his might, he swung his arm out, throwing the rock as far as he could down into the dark nothingness below. He watched it was it fell, and continued to watch it when he could see it no longer, as if somehow, somewhere, it would appear back into his sight.
