Valencia had enjoyed the Yule Ball and Halloween events so far, so she had decided to see what the Valentine's dance was all about. She didn't have a date this time like she had when she went to the Yule Ball, but Lenny hadn't minded going solo to the dance. She had gotten dressed up nicely and then headed down to the Great Hall where the dance had taken place. As she walked in, she had seen students around her dancing and also mingling around people they knew. She noticed a few familiar faces, though she didn't want to interrupt anything of theirs. Valencia stood around by the food slash drink table and took a bite of one of the finger foods that were offered, just glancing around the room, as well as people watching.

Natalia wished she knew more people, more... suitable people. The only purebloods she had spoken to so far were older girls, and she spotted neither of them in the crowd at the dance. Natalia could admit it to herself now, she was lonely. She knew that her parents wouldn't approve of her befriending just anyone, but she also knew they had expected there to be more of an elite group of purebloods at Hogwarts, an exclusive club that Natalia would fit in seamlessly. At least, that was the impression they had always given her. If such a group existed, Natalia hadn't found it yet. The girl was standing by herself near the drinks table, sipping on a drink as she watched everyone dance and talk together. This was nowhere near as elegant as Natalia had imagined dances at Hogwarts to be, but it did look... kind of fun? She spotted a girl nearby, someone from her own year. Natalia didn't know her blood status, but was pretty sure she wasn't pureblood like herself. But... surely it was fine as long as the girl was from a magical family? Natalia knew that surrounding herself with only purebloods was a lot to ask, as their kind was increasingly rare. "Good evening." She finally said to the other girl, a little stiffly.

Estella was the most excited for the Valentine's Day Dance. It was her favourite event last year and she couldn't wait to attend it again this year and hopefully have just as much fun. She wore a different dress this time. This time it was red and lacy, which was very different to her petite pink dress that she wore before. She liked changing it up a little, and she hoped that this meant her night would be different too. The girl admittedly was a little late for the event as she took her time with her makeup and her hair, wanting to look good as it was one of the only times in the year that she could. As she entered the Great Hall, she smiled around at all of the people dancing. She was thirsty though, and headed over to the food and drink table to get herself a glass of pumpkin juice. It sat next to the finger food where two younger girls were standing in front of. "Oops, excuse me!" Estella said, gesturing to the jar of pumpkin juice. "Do you mind?"

Valencia turned when she heard a voice and noticed it was a girl about her age. She smiled towards the girl. "Hiya. Are you enjoying your night so far? And what's your name?" Valencia asked the girl. She had seen a girl a couple of times during class but didn't really know her well. She had guessed that it was good to meet someone new though and maybe trying to get to know them in the process. Valencia sipped her drink a little longer, glancing around the room until she heard another voice. "Oh, it no problem," Valencia says with a small smile as she passes the jug of pumpkin juice towards the slightly older girl.

Natalia was waiting for the girl she recognized to reply, when someone else came up to them and disturbed them. Natalia sighed and stepped aside, wondering why the girl hadn't just asked them to do so without the useless question. What did it matter if she minded? "I'm Natalia Novak." She told the girl who had asked her a question. "I suppose it is enjoyable enough." She then said a little coolly. Natalia thought the decorations were pretty tacky, and so far there wasn't much she had managed to do. "You are in my classes." She told the girl, perhaps unnecessarily. "What is your name?"
