Open after Marga posts with Jonah​

Lumos didn't just walk into the Yule ball, he kind of launched himself in like he'd been summoned by bass and sugar. The lights were crazy and wild and he kind of liked that. He didn't really know what to think of the decoration, he felt like there maybe could have been more, but he wasn't going to worry too much about it and he'd barely made it three steps in before he was trying to dance his way thought a group of fourth years all mingling around and talking about something he didn't care about. His robes are intentionally crooked, obviously, to give him that sweet Slytherin charm he was so used to and his shoes lit up a little when he gave a big enough stomp. He didn't know how it worked, just that his mum had done it for him and he was forever grateful. He held his hand out to Jonah. "Come on, let's dance." It was nice to have Jonah with him, now that they'd both agreed they were in a relationship, last year had been a bit awkward and neither of them had really been sure, but he was sure now, and he was going to enjoy the perks.

While his boyfriend stole all the spotlight, Jonah was quite content to slide into the Ball like a meek mouse. His attention was mostly on Lumos too, his eyes raking over his boyfriend's outfit because Merlin did he look really nice. He'd just followed him, really. Like a puppy. It was so much nicer since he'd managed to confirm that Lumos was indeed his boyfriend. He didn't have to hesitate when taking Lumos' hand or wonder if the Slytherin liked him or if he was doing something wrong by wanting to be close. He smiled, almost shyly, when his boyfriend invited him to dance. And then he grinned and nodded, taking the Slytherin's hand with a soft laugh and then joining him on the dance floor. "You're having fun," he said as he leaned in so Lumos would be able to hear him over the music and the crowd.​

Lumos grinned because he absolutely was having fun. He took Jonah’s hand, beamed at him and then slipped into the chaos that was the dance floor. This was a dance, and Jonah was his boyfriend, of course he wanted to dance with him. He spun Jonah, and kept their hands locked together. It was fun having someone to dance with, and maybe he didn’t want to celebrate Halloween much, but doing anything with Jonah was such a nice bonus he wasn’t about to let that go. “Of course I’m having fun, I always do when I’m with you,” he said, shouting a little to be heard over the music. “Also I look really good so that helps of course.”​
