Kate was incredibly bored. She had baked today and she had spent around two hours practicing her singing and violin.Since she had done her homework at around three in the morning and she had no classes today she had nothing to do.This is good for someone like Kate who needs to be distracted at every possibly moment so she can't start worrying. When she starts worrying it usually ends with her getting very stressed and at times having panic attacks but they weren't as frequent since she had the pills but it still wasn't a nice feeling. She would also start to feel hungry which was never good wither because she usually got sick once or twice a day.It was apparently another one of the symptoms and the doctors said that she would just have to get used to it but that was hard when what ever food you ate you would usually puck back up again. It also brung back bad memories of second year and they were memories she didn't want to relive.Plus she was worrying about the where about of Stefan. Her hand automatically went to the shorter necklace around her neck. She never took it off unless she was going for a shower.her hand always went to it when she thought of him.Stefan was something she worried about most days. She was just scared for him, scared that he was really hurt. She was starting to come to the end of her patience. If there was anyway she could at least know that he was alive at least. She suddenly had an idea "I'll write him a letter" she said to herself. She went to her suitcase and took out the writing set one of her aunts had given her for Christmas.A few minutes she later she was finished and headed for the Owlery.

The long flight of steps always killed Kate and she wondered how she had ever run up them. She had to stop and take a few breaths before walking into the owlery. There was no one else here except for the hundreds of owls. She hadn't been here since she had been writing to her mam in first year.So much had changed since then.Sighing Kate found her snowy owl and tied the letter to her leg.She hoped she knew where to go,all Kate knew was that he lived in New Zealand but she was sure she would. When she couldn't see her owl anymore Kate went back down the stairs and returned to the common room

A difficult few months to say the least had passed. It had passed in the blink of an eye, but more difficult times were ahead. Time heals all wounds, but wounds leave scars. It was neither happiness nor sadness that the teenager felt. It was a loneliness, the realization that he was finally alone to face the world. He had nothing left, no one to care for him, and despite all he'd been through that feeling was not one he'd ever really wanted to feel. To explain what had happened to the boy would be saying too much. He didn't talk about it, the doctors struggled to make him say anything. But, he only answered the bare minimum of questions. Why had it happened? Do you have any other family? Which school do you attend? All in all, it left him drained, tired and alone. He pretty much felt depressed and yet there was nothing he could do about it. He couldn't leave, he had no where to go. No way of getting to where he wanted to be. And with injuries like his, and the fact he'd technically died for about three minutes and that he'd only woken up at the start of February meant he wasn't really allowed to leave. All he knew was that as soon as he could go, he'd find himself in the system. With a family he didn't know, and without the ability to utter the words, I'm a wizard. There was no way he could be placed with a wizarding family. It just wouldn't happen. He'd made it so far, come so far and yet the simple act of what he'd dreamed of had caused him to lose everything. Just like on the many occasion he had really thought things through. He could at least claim that people were treating him better. He was the teen with nothing. He was the teen so thin people wondered how he could keep going. He was the teen in love with a girl he hadn't seen in a long time, and was half sure she'd hate him. He had really never felt more alone in his life. The Slytherin teen was not looking forward to the next few months. Recovery would be hard. Scars would be clear for years to come. The nightmares still happened, and would forever happen. But at least he could be happy in the fact that they would be his last scars. He would not have new nightmares happening. It would only be old memories he classed as nightmares. At least part of his hell was over.

The window the room he was in was always left open during the day. Letting the air, be clean and for him to be able to feel the cool air on his face. Although for the most part, the blinds stayed closed so he could see better. The colorblindness had been something the doctors had found out when he'd awoken and they'd tested his eye sight. Colour had been in that, and he had to say that he was colourblind. That seeing color was an impossible thing for him to do. It was as he sat, bored that an owl flew into the room and landed next to him. Confused for a moment, he then realized there was a letter with his name on it. Stefan Right away he knew the handwriting. With only one slightly mobile hand, he opened the letter and quickly read it. She didn't seem happy. He hated that. All he'd ever wanted was for her to be happy. Everything else didn't matter. She would always be beautiful to him. She would always be perfect, but seeing that she was worried made him feel guilty. He wanted to reply, but he didn't have a pen, or paper. He had nothing. He couldn't reply. He crumbled the letter in his hand, anger coursing through his veins. He wanted to be with her. Apologize a thousand times over, he hadn't meant to worry her. He had said goodbye, technically. He didn't know if he would ever return to Hogwarts, to her. He needed her to not be worried, or upset. Refolding the paper, he reattached it to the owl. He looked at the owl, "Tell her I'm sorry. Tell her I'll be okay" he whispered to the owl. The teen knew that the owl wouldn't actually be able to say any of those things, but the words had slipped before he could say them. "Go" and with that the owl flew from the room leaving the boy once again completely alone.

After she had sent the letter Kate had returned to the school and had continued on wondering until dinner time. There she had eaten a small amount of food and she had returned to her dorm. She read for over three hours and by now Tara was fast asleep and Kate began the process of attempting to sleep. For a while it worked, well Kate wasn't sure how long all she knew was that when she woke up she felt like getting to sick. She had run into the bathroom and had gotten sick and now she was looking into the mirror after brushing her teeth twice. It was now two or three in the morning.Kate felt tired but almost too tired to go to sleep. She sat down on the cold floor and laid her head against the wall. She was hoping that a letter would soon return from Stefan,it hadn't even been a full say but she was alert for the tapping on her window. She wans't sure if she would be able to cope if she got no letter in return. Her hand went to the heart pendant necklace around her neck.A small smile appeared on her face,at least of the worst happened she'd have something to remember him by but she didn't want it to come to that. She looked up when she heard a quiet tapping on the window beside her bed.She walked quietly out of the bathroom and opened the window for the owl.Her heart dropped when she saw it was the same letter but when she looked again she saw that it looked like it had been crumpled up.Maybe that had been Stefan?Kate wasn't sure but she was going to guess that it was,she decided to send another one

Stefan,

So you are alive then?I hope it was you who
crumpled up the paper and not someone else.
Why didn't you write back? What's wrong?
You know,we will be playing against you house
in a Quidditch match,I'm gonna be the chaser.
Hopefully I won't get sick during it because I'd
really like to beat them.Nothing much else has
happened here in Hogwarts except for the teachers
going on about the OWLs.I'm going to tell you about
what happens here so you don't miss anything.Would
you mind?

Kate

Kate wasn't sure why she changed the mood of the letter but if he hadn't wrote back the first time there wasn't much chance of him doing it again so maybe she would just fill him in on the happenings of school.Make it seem like nothing bad is happening.Kate tied the new piece of paper to her owl and set her off. When she was finished she got into bed feeling just a little bit better.

As was expect things were taking their time. There was a slow amount of healing happening. His body had been so weak that it had been more or less a miracle that he'd even managed to survive this long. The doctors were constantly mentioning to one another while they thought that he was asleep how unlikely it was that he should still be breathing the wonderful air that the planet gave. But, he was never one to give up. He fought harder when he was told he couldn't, when he was face with the issue of living or not living. He couldn't explain why he always fought so hard. Especially when he had nothing. No home, no family, no money, nothing. He wasn't the most fortunate of people. Nothing quite seemed to go the way he wanted it to. Nothing quite worked out in a way that left a complete smile on his face. Even now, finally rid of the one person keeping him in the rut, he still didn't have what he wanted. Things hadn't really gotten much better, he'd gotten sicker rather than better. An infection had set in, and it was putting his release off even further. And he wanted to just leave. The four walls of the room he was in were annoying him. He couldn't leave the bed, he was tired despite how much he currently was sleeping, and most of the food he just couldn't stomach eating. He would be faced with them and just could never bring himself to eat most of it. One or two bites, that was all. All he really needed. And in any case it was better than what he would've been getting had he still been at home. But at least home he'd never managed to get the cold in a perfectly well heated room. This wasn't what he had ever imagined he would be doing. He hadn't thought that he would stuck. Unable to tell anyone where he was or what had happened to him. He wondered if anyone had actually noticed, if anyone actually cared about the missing teen. He knew he had hardly mattered to most, but surely, someone would care. Kate, Sara, Tara, Willow. Surely they wondered where he was. Curious to know where he'd gone. A part of him hoped they'd just moved on. And a part of him wish so deeply that they'd try to find him. He was pretty conflicted about it.

Awoken at the dead of night by something flying into the room the colourblind boy opened his eyes and jumped slightly at the sight of the bird perched at the side of his bed. He knew who this was. The familiar writing on the envelope was clear. But it had been a couple of days since he'd sent the letter back to her. The window had been closed, and he had been pretty out of it, he wondered how long the bird had been waiting to get to him. The tired teen wasn't sure if he could bring himself to read the letter. He didn't having anything to reply with. He hadn't been brought any of his belongings. He had quite literally nothing. Only the clothes he'd been brought in. After staring blankly at the owl for a few seconds he took the envelope from it and opened the letter. As he moved quite a lot in the moment, a coughing fit erupted. It caused little flecks of blood caused by the cough irrupting his throat to scatter upon the top of the page. He read the letter quickly. Finding for the first time in a long while that he was smiling. Kate always managed to do that to him. It was nice to hear from her, even if she wasn't sure if he'd gotten the letter. He crumbled it slightly in his hand, hoping this would be an indication that it had in fact been him who'd crumbled it in the first place. He had no idea how to wish her luck without pen or paper to tell her than he wanted to hear all about hogwarts. All about all the things he was missing so dearly, but he couldn't. Instead, like before, he folded the letter and put it back in the envelope. "go" He muttered to the bird once again, as it flew off out of the window and into the cool night air. Within seconds of the bird living the teen was once again sound asleep.

After sending the letter Kate had gotten much more sleep then usual. When she woke up she felt a small bit better and for once she actually got up on time. When she got up she took a shower and got dressed quickly. Most of her clothes were hanging off her these days even though she tried her best to gain the weight. It was rather annoying because it brought back bad memories, doors she didn't want to re-open.she didn't understand how she was losing so much weight. She was getting sick all the time but she didn't understand how she could be losing so much weight. Her parents were going to kill her when she went back for the operation. They knew things were getting worse but they probably haven't envisioned it being this bad.But if she would be able to play a Quidditch match and continue on with school she was surely okay. Her parents would probably beg to differ and they wouldn't agree with her playing a match but they weren't here,so there was nothing they could do about. She had been reading another book in the common room two days later when she heard a tapping on the window.Kate smiled, glad that the owl had returned. She opened the window and let the owl in despite the looks from the other Hufflepuffs. She smiled when she saw that they letter was crumpled again. That took a huge burden off her shoulders. She hoped the reason he couldn't write back was because he had no paper or something like that. Her smiled dies quickly when she saw the few small bloodstains on the top of the page. She bit her lip hoping he was at least being taken care of.She walked up to her dorm and took out a piece of paper and sme nuts for her owl.She walked back down to the common room. She gave the owl some nuts and sat down by the table and started writing her letter
Stefan,

I really hope your okay and that your being take care of
you deserve that and much more.Your not missing much
in class though charms is quite interesting. We have a new
potions teacher though I couldn't tell you his name because
I can't either spell or say his name.Do you know Briar Rowan?
Apparently she is a werewolf! That's all I can think of today.

Kate

When she was finished she tied the letter to the owl "Go"she said letting her out via the window. She watched her fly away and got back to her book
