William was well practised at swinging by the Hufflepuff common room to pick up Eury on the way to the Great Hall. One of these days, he’d even try to get in the common room; he was pretty sure he knew how he’d just never been dumb enough to try, which was a high bar for William. After picking Eury up outside the common room, gawking at her dress and giving her an overdue kiss as he hadn’t done so for hours, they found themselves walking into the great hall. He didn’t know how they did it, but year after year, it still managed to look just slightly different, winter-themed (despite not being winter).

“I swear they use magic to make it colder in here,” William laughed as he led Eury by the arm into the great hall, the fake snow crunching beneath their feet. “The snow is a nice touch though,”

The Yule Ball was always something Eurydice looked forward to. A night to dress up, dance, and spend time with her boyfriend, for the most part without anyone butting in. She doubted Kael-nii would be around since Elio-nii had already graduated. And well... Tizi-nii will probably be there but she'd also been sort of, subtly, trying to avoid him after the whole debacle that was her boggart. To this day, she still hasn't managed the spell. But that was a thought for another day, especially since William always had a way of making her forget her worries, and she smiled into the kiss that he gave her. "Hey you," she whispered before they pulled away and walked down to the Ball, her holding on to his arm as she always has.

"As long as it's not slippery," she laughed with him as she shivered a little, adjusting to the small change in temperature—the winter theme was still so odd, but she couldn't deny it was pretty. "My shoes aren't made for ice," she said with a grin as she lifted her dress a little and showed him her shoes—all jeweled and high.

William looked down at the shoes Eury had worn for the ball and nodded in agreement. He didn’t know much about shoes, so he took her word for it that they weren’t made for the ice, not that many shoes were. “Well, I can test it out and see if I slip?” William stepped out in front of her, slowly letting go of her hand until he was far enough away that he would pull her down with him if he fell. “It seems ok, maybe the Headmaster put a spell on it or something, come try it out,” William held out his hand for her to come closer and take.
