Sneaking out of Beauxbatons was just as easy as sneaking out of his old school. Dressed warmly in a sweater and his wool coat, Sebastian jogged towards the village, eager to get a bit of time away from the castle. He was actually beginning to enjoy the school, but it didn't mean that he was ready to give up his troublemaking just yet. He knew that if Trilby found out about his excursion, she would probably be dissappointed in him, so he had no plans to tell her. What Trilby doesn't know... Sebastian thought and then wondered why he cared so much about her opinion. It's cuz she's my best friend, he thought in an attempt to convince himself that there were no other feelings there.

Reaching the village without any sign that he had been seen, Sebastian relaxed slightly, letting out the breath he hadn't even noticed he was holding. Because of the cold weather, there weren't many people out in the street. As he looked down the street of the village, Sebastian saw an old man exit a pub and inside, he could see how crowded it was. With a smile, Sebastian made his way there. If there was any place to go to not get caught, that would surely be the place, so long as none of the professors decided to grab a drink.

Sebastian looked around when he went inside and didn't see anyone he recognized. He headed up to the bar and in his broken French ordered a butterbeer. When he had it in his hand, he turned and looked for a seat. It was just his luck that two ladies were just getting up as he turned. Sebastian was at the seat, quick as a flash, and enjoying his butterbeer. He looked around anxiously especially whenever he heard the bells on the door. He didn't look very young, but someone might be able to tell he was a student from the school. Sitting there, he hoped something interesting would happen so that his absence from class wasn't just for a butterbeer.

Chloe Livingstone had been in France a total of three days. She was there for a muggle photoshoot that had ended earlier that morning. It was a fashion shoot that she had been asked to do by a designer who had seen her while on vacation in New York City. Chloe had come to France for that reason but now that it was over, she decided she wanted to visit some of the wizarding sights her dad had told her about.

Chloe wandered the streets until she came to an older pub. She entered the doors and looked around. It was crowded in the room and it seemed most of the people in the pub were much older than herself. Chloe walked to the bar and ordered a drink in fluent French. Her father had taught her French and Spanish from the age of two onwards.

Her blue eyes scanned the room until she saw a table with one free seat and a boy who looked to be around her age. Chloe walked to where he was. "Do you mind if I join you?" she asked, reverting to English.

Sebastian had grown tired of his fear of being caught. The worst that could happen was that he would be given detention, and although he wasn’t looking for that, he was looking to enjoy his time away from the school.

When he heard a voice asking to sit down, Sebastian’s heart went into his throat. Sh*t...I’ve been caught, was his thought as he looked up. It was then that he realized the question had been asked in perfect, unaccented English. Looking back at him was a girl about his age, and Sebastian breathed a sigh of relief.

“Holy…you startled me” he exclaimed and then moved over. “Sure you can join. How'd you know I would know English?” he asked because considering they were in the middle of a small French town it was unlikely that many of the people sitting beside them knew much English.

Chloe smirked as the boy said she startled him. It amused her some as he moved over, allowing her to sit down next to him. Chloe sat down carefully. She was surprised by his question. Chloe hadn't even realized she had switched back to English. She shook her head. "I didn't. I simply forgot to speak in French." she said, shrugging her shoulders. Chloe was so comfortable with all three of her languages that she often switched between them without realizing what she was doing.

"I can speak in French if you prefer." Chloe offered, wondering what he would say. He sounded American so she wasn't sure. She took a sip of her drink before turning back to him. "I'm Chloe by the way. Chloe Livingstone." she said proudly.

Sebastian took another glance at the girl and wondered if he knew her from anywhere. Something about her was so familiar, as if he had seen her before, but at the same time, he knew he had never met the girl. “No…my French isn’t so good” he said shaking his head.

When the girl introduced herself, the feeling of knowing her from somewhere hit him again. He knew the name from somewhere though he didn’t think it was from Salem. “Nice to meet you Chloe” he said, holding out his hand for her to shake. “I’m Sebastian Rossi. What brings you here?” he asked, curious as to why someone would choose to come to this place. There really wasn’t much to do in this place as he was finding out for himself. Now, he knew why so few of the Beauxbatons students actually skipped classes. They were far more interesting than this village.

Chloe nodded her head as he said his French wasn't very good. She smiled at him. "I'll stick to English then." she teased slightly. A bright smile lit up Chloe's face as the boy introduced himself to her. "Its a pleasure to meet you Sebastian." she said in a warm tone. Chloe was nothing but a shameless flirt.

Chloe's blue eyes scanned the boy. He was rather attractive. She fixed a pretty little smile on her face. "Well I have a modeling shoot in the town over that finished earlier today. My father had told me about this little wizarding town nearby so I thought I would visit." she told him, a hint of her New York accent seeping through. "What about yourself?" she asked him.

The girl sitting before him was certainly bubbly and Sebastian couldn't help but smile back at her. When Chloe looked at him with her pretty blue eyes, Sebastian became a little nervous. He fingered the earring in his left ear and twisted it unconsciously. "You're a model?" he asked, though it wasn't too hard to believe. She was definitely good-looking enough to be.

"I'm...cutting astronomy class" he said sheepishly, trying and failing to think of a lie to tell the girl before him. "Hey, are you from New York?" he asked realizing that her accent was very familiar. He had been there once or twice, but he was a New England boy at heart and his Boston accent, although faint was definitely present when he spoke.

Chloe grinned as Sebastian asked her if she was a model. She laughed and nodded her head. "Yes, but its a rather new thing and its mostly just in Europe." she explained. Chloe noticed that the boy seemed a little nervous. She couldn't help but wonder why. When he said he was skipping class, she figured it must be that. Chloe grinned. "My dad teaches me magic at home. What's it like to go to a real school?" she asked curiously. She didn't know many other witches and wizards.

Chloe pursed her lips as she caught a hint of a Boston accent. She wondered why Sebastian would go to France for schooling if he was from the States. Her curiosity grew as he asked her if she was from New York. Chloe smirked. "I am. I've lived in the city my whole life. My dad owns a hotel chain and the main ones are in New York." she explained.

Sebastian was surprised to hear that the girl was homeschooled, but then realized that it probably made more sense considering she traveled so much for her job. He shrugged his shoulders at her question. "Cool, I guess. I used to go to Salem and that was loads of fun though we didn't get to see the girls all that often. The teachers at Beauxbatons are really good...and the students are ok, I guess." He could think of a few students that he could do without, but for the most part things had been going really well at Beauxbatons. "Homeschooling must be pretty alright though...you don't have to deal with annoying students" he said easily.

I knew it, Sebastian thought as she said she was in fact from New York. As she explained who her dad was, Sebastian's eyes widened. That's it, he thought and excitedly said, "I knew I'd seen you somewhere!" Every time a new Livingstone hotel opened up, her father and sometimes his family would appear on television announcing the grand opening. "I had no idea he was a wizard" Sebastian stated, "must be cool to live in a hotel." Now that he knew who she was, Sebastian was surprised to see how nice Chloe was. She's nothing like that other hotel girl. The one with the dog. What is that girl's name?...so far anyway, Sebastian thought to himself.

Chloe listened as he explained about Salem and then Beauxbatons. She thought it sounded rather fascinating. She wondered what it would be like to go to a magical school. Chloe laughed as Sebastian said she didn't have to deal with annoying students. She shook her head. "Oh, no I still deal with them. I'm only homeschooled with magic. I still go to a muggle private school. Luckily I graduate this year. Though I guess I will end up at a university next year." she said with a grin. Chloe learned both magic and muggle things. Her dad thought it was best in the way of keeping up appearances.

Chloe wasn't surprised to hear that Sebastian had thought she looked familiar. Her family was famous and Chloe tended to get put on the covers of gossip magazines, mostly false articles saying she was running wild and too much of a partyer. Chloe nodded her head. "Yes, he is very good at covering up his magical abilities. I think its because my mother is a muggle. They prefer the muggle world to the magical one." she said with a shrug. It was just the way she had always lived. Chloe laughed as he said it was cool to live in a hotel. "We actually don't live there. We just keep a floor there for our use. My parents have a penthouse over near Central Park in the city." she explained.

Sebastian shook his head sympathetically as Chloe said she still had to attend school. “Ugh…so you have to deal with learning two different kinds of things…I couldn’t.” Sebastian had never done well in regular school, which he had attended until he was eleven, so he had been thrilled to discover he was a wizard and would no longer need to attend school. It was one of the best things that happened to him.

“What do you prefer?” he asked, noticing that she mentioned that it was her parents who preferred the muggle world. Just then, a person came through the door and Sebastian recognized that it was one of the professors in the school. Luckily, it was the professor of a class he didn’t take, so Sebastian didn’t think he had too much to fear, but he still ducked his head a bit. “Can you move over a bit?” he asked, wanting Chloe to slide over and block him from the professor’s view. He heard the door again, and when he looked up, Sebastian saw the professor’s back as he walked away. Breathing a sigh of relief, Sebastian turned his full attention back on Chloe.

“That’s still pretty cool. I would certainly make good use of the space” Sebastian said with a small laugh, thinking of the parties he would throw if he had a whole floor in a hotel to use.
