October felt like she was still a bit too young to be interested in going to something like the Yule Ball with a date, but she couldn't help but feel a little bitter that April already had a friend to go with, and she was by herself. October had felt lonely since she arrived at Hogwarts, but seeing April making so many friends so fast really just seemed to rub it in. Having such an outgoing person as a new sister was exhausting for October, being as introverted as she was.

But even an introvert could enjoy such a beautiful evening. The Great Hall looked absolutely splendid, and seeing her classmates all look so glamorous made October feel like she had been transported into another world, a beautiful and exciting one where anything could happen. Determinedly ignoring April and her date, October made her way over to the food tables, confident on her new heels already thanks to years of dancing on her toes. Her dress wasn't quite as glitzy as some of the girls here, but, as she nibbled on some of the snacks on offer, October felt more beautiful and special than she had for some time. Now, if only there was someone around to share it with.

The boy wasn't particularly hungry, however he wasn't exactly excited at the prospect of crowds of strangers who thought it was acceptable to touch a designer jacket with their sweaty ape hands so he was glad for the escape - even if it was a small one. As he walked over he saw a girl observing the crowd so the boy who had a devilish sense of humour said while discretely gesturing to a girl with heels that even a stilt walker would question, "How many times do you think she'll fall tonight?" He cracked a charming smile and looked on to see the girl struggling with her footing while she danced.

October didn't realise that she was being spoken to at first, used to being ignored by the majority of her classmates. It wasn't until she saw the boy's smile directed at her that she realised he had actually been speaking to her. Laughing quickly, October nodded, looking over at the girl teetering around. "Heels aren't even that hard to walk in. I don't know why people try to wear them when they don't know how." She said with a small smile, shifting from foot to foot comfortably in her own shoes.
