Benjamin Chase shifted on his bed with a casual attire that was over his whole body. The morning was a quiet one, with the trees outside his own bedroom swaying softly along with the soft breeze that accompanied it with its own peaceful dance. The leaves swayed in all sorts of directions that Ben could not really determine which, but he knew that the wind outside was strong enough for dry leaves to be picked up by it. It levitated slightly together with the wind then dropped again then just continued the cycle over and over again. It went along as far as Ben could see it until it disappeared from sight. The boy sighed and laid down on the huge bed that was beneath him, to relax his spine from the straight posture that he has been trying to keep up. He gave the window a final glance before even disappearing underneath the covers. The soft material of the bed did not even make a good effort to distract him because of his deep thoughts about last night's events. His parents have been discussing something in private again in their own bedroom and it sure made Benjamin toss over and over. He groaned when he felt a blooming headache from the base of his skull. The muffled sounds that his parents produced were still coming back and it irritated him like crazy. Seeing that he should refresh himself, Benjamin went to the bathroom and splashed on the cold water on his own face, before walking to his bed again to just sit there and think of what issue they had this time. His sea green eyes stayed on the same spot as usual and it was stuck there, looking at his shelf filled with things of different sorts.

Breakfast was the best meal for Victoria Alice Chase. She would always talk about practically anything during that time of the day and would not care if ever her parents and sibling would listen to her. The morning for today was actually scary for her, with her parents there, not even uttering a single word. She knew with what happened about last night's fight between the both of them yet she thought it was something minor to think about. Fights were not Vicky's thing. She was choosy with what she would usually deal with and would not dare care about what other people thought about it. Beneath a quiet girl was someone who wanted competition with others. Her personality was something like her mother though she was a gentler version. She was seven years young and it would be strange if a kid like her would compete all the time. Bratty was the type of word that kids like her would usually receive yet Vicky was no one like that. She looked at both of her parents with both heads hung low and tension in the air. Slowly, she swung her small legs from the chair that she was seated on. Strawberries were not really the type of fruits she loved eating and that was her excuse. She silently excused herself by eyeing her mother and leaving quietly before heading back to her room that was colored black and had small shades of fuchsia.

Her bed understandably did not entertain her. Nor did the books get her attention to its fullest. The neat shelf that was near her bedside had different kinds of books, each with a wonderful story that was golden. Her thoughts always drifted off to those stories but this morning was actually different. Victoria frowned when she thought about her mother and father. It was silent in the dining area and even her dearest brother did not come down to eat anything. The child got up and got a coloring book that was followed by newly bought coloring materials. Her legs brought her in front of the door that led to her Benjamin Chase's bedroom and she formed a fist then knocked gently on the door. After two seconds, she twisted the door knob and half stepped inside before even going to his bed. "Benjamin, can I stay with you?" She formed her usual puppy dog eyes in front of her own brother, not caring if he would shoo her away from his sight. She also stuck her lower lip a little farther from its usual place to show that she wanted his presence near her. It felt that like she was molested by the tension in the dining area because of the silence that echoed throughout the room.

The silence in the room made him quite relaxed while he took deep breaths to calm himself. The sight of his own bedroom made him bored and he frowned as he looked across the whole place around him. He did not appreciate the dark colors that his room had as of now, because of the drawn curtains that were put aside to give him some morning light. Benjamin eyed it curiously, trying to decide if ever he would close it or not. The view outside served him good, so it was not really a thing to worry about. The boy sighed dramatically and turned the direction of his sight to the piece of wood that was laid just beside him. His wand, Birch Wand and essence of dragonstone. Slowly, he recalled the memory of him purchasing his wand in the shop where it was sold. Ollivander's was a place that he will truly remember, because of the lovely experience that he just had there. It was not avoidable to have some things there destroyed. The wands that came his path were choosy and he wanted to sneer at all of them.

A small knock suddenly erupted the room's wandering silence as Benjamin was twirling his wand around his hand, not as fast. He was practicing how to do it, and he believed that that wand that he held would last him his whole lifetime. Two years of practice would do just fine and he would hopefully know how to skillfully twirl his wand around his fingers. He slowly looked at the door, and had a small feeling that it was his own Ravenclaw alumni mother. The knocking was exactly the same way as her mother and Benjamin tried to keep his face straight despite the nervous feeling he had in his mind. Slowly, the small replica of his mother appeared from the doorway with the usual eye techniques that her sister would often use at him. Benjamin's shoulders immediately sagged with relief as he decided to welcome his own sister. "Just shut the door, Alice." He smirked at the last word that he just spoke of, knowing that he would be smacked by his sister on the shoulder. Alice was not really a name that Victoria was fond of but Benjamin thought that it was better to call her that. It suited her, somehow.

Instantly, the petite female scowled instead of stepping forward. She hated that name that he would usually call her, just to tease and make fun of her. Victoria gave her brother a look of annoyance before closing the door firmly shut behind her. It clicked when it was locked and Victoria looked at her brother for reassurance. He seemed to not really care about her presence and the small seven year old rejoiced. She reluctantly put her things on his bed that was covered with blankets made of fine material, colored with gray shades that made the room look glum. Her brother had a bad taste regarding his room and Victoria just disliked it for that. She knew that her brother loved her as dearly as she loved him, but they still had the same arguments that happened almost every two or three days. "Don't call me that name, okay? You know I hate that." Victoria grumbled against her brother as she opened her small coloring book and flipped through a page that had a scenery of centaurs in a forest. She got her lovely set of coloring materials and took a brown crayon to color the body of the centaur slowly yet surely. She always aimed to color within the lines, to avoid messing up the lovely picture that it could turn out to be. Victoria Chase was no person who would just give up immediately. Her small left hand colored lightly, not even acknowledging the presence of her fellow companion.

After a silence of approximately ten minutes, Victoria briefly looked up and temporarily stopped coloring the legs of the centaur. She was slow yet sure that his picture would come out perfect. Almost perfect, she hoped. "Why aren't you surfing Benjamin?" She questioned, eager to find out if ever it concerned passing by their parents' awkward faces. Benjamin Chase did not really mind if ever a person would just toss him away but their parents were a total different case. They were the only ones that Victoria's Slytherin brother would give respect to, and she knew that that would remain forever. Hopefully, She thought as she looked down again, to resume the coloring of her drawing.

Benjamin surveyed his sister silently. She was so small. He hoped that he was not as small when he was her age. He was probably two or one inch taller than her. He was only eleven years old, and puberty hasn't really hit him yet. It was actually sad to leave his childhood years, since those were the ones that he valued the most among all memories. Memories like these were the most childish, funny and lovely ones to remember. His year in Hogwarts had been going well, he could say. He did not really mind if he did not have a proper set of friends. He actually preferred to stay alone. His sister and him planned to stay alone. Either together or separated, he did not care at all. Benjamin flashed his superior smirked at the small girl just beside him. Her remark was useless to his expression, knowing that he would always win against her when it came to teasing her and all that. Benjamin gave the small girl a look curiosity as he eyed her book. "You came here, to color a book? You could have done that in your own room." He replied in a lazy tone. His shoulders expressed a soft shrug after without making eye contact with Victoria. He knew that she would come up with some sort of an irritating response again but that was what he loved about her. Girls were always a challenge and Benjamin considered his beloved sister a challenge for himself to handle females on the proper way.

The idea of the splashing water came to his mind in refreshing memories. The muggle sport that he has been getting addicted to has been really getting him hooked with it. It was something that he - for once - took seriously to learn with passion. He yearned for the coldness of the water to splash on his bare legs and chest. He gave her a weak smile that he would rarely show to the people in Hogwarts New Zealand. "Father will question why I haven't come down for breakfast. Bad moods aren't meant to be messed up with." He replied with a knowing tone. His protectiveness with Victoria always curled up to him whenever she invaded his own mind, giving him the image of her innocent seven year old face. He looked at her straight in the eye, adoring the color that her eyes held. It was exactly the same as his and it reminded him of the cold winter season they would have in the manor.

The look on Benjamin's face was intensifying and Victoria became a bit rigid. Her small stick figure walked stiffly to the bed and sat down quietly. She hated it when Benjamin did that to her. It always bothered her and made her look quite sickly in her opinion. Something was in the back of her mind and she wanted to mutter it in front of him. Her body temperature became a little heated, because of the stare of her own brother on her. She huffed and spoke with that little high pitched tone in her voice. Looking for the correct words to what she would say was quite difficult since she did not want to actually make Benjamin win this little game of theirs. She looked at his green eyes that were hovered above her and frowned once more. "What?" Her high pitched voice boomed in the room that was supposed to be dark, but was fairly lit because of the drawn curtains that was just inches away from the windows. She actually liked it that Benjamin was giving himself a little light for his skin. It sometimes drove her crazy to see her brother, sulking in his room with dim lights and the corners isolated with darkness. She looked at Benjamin with a childish annoyance as she gently smacked on his arm. "I like your bed. Mother would probably be disturbed if I do this in her room." She replied back. Her imagination of her mother rubbing her temples would make Vicky a depressed soul, seeing her lovely mother in a stressed situation. The memory of breakfast suddenly flowed to her again and gave the chills, sending her to shudder softly.

Finally, the whole body of the centaur was already covered lightly with shades of brown. The brown color had slightly different angles on how it was supposed to be colored, yet Victoria did not mind. She was a child after all. A seven year old like her ought to experience that. She was no genius anyways. She nodded silently and looked up when she heard the usual drawl of Benjamin. "What happened to them? It was scary in the table a while ago." Her small shoulders sagged as she tried to get up from her previous position. Her belly was on the bed but now she got up to Indian sit just near Benjamin. The green orbs in her eyes indicated fear of lost and love. She always wanted her parents to stay together yet different problems came their way to ruin their family's relationship.

The way on how Victoria even questioned him surprised him, causing him to change the direction of his eyes to some place else. After a second, he slowly turned his head again to face her green eyes that was almost identical to his and thought of a response. To cover his small wait, he chuckled softly as she climbed on his bed. Her small legs always did not touch the floor whenever she needed to go down or something. Sometimes when it is too high, he needed to help her because of some orders from his parents. The elves too were around but Victoria did not want their help. She loved wasting Benjamin's time because of her silly actions that were limited because of the young age she was in, unfortunately. Benjamin knew that yet he did not really mind. He was quite protective over his seven year old sister. After all, she would grow up to be a lady someday. "You're so small, Victoria." Benjamin stated blandly after chuckling. She really looked like a small girl who was innocent of all the evil in this world. Her eyes were something that people would love to see because of its innocence in their. If they just knew that fierce personality that would always be discovered by different sorts of personality. Victoria and Benjamin Chase were almost alike, except for the smugness that Benjamin had compared to Vicky.

Nothing really was special about Benjamin's bed, except for its huge size in width and length. Its color was nothing really special. Just shades of gray and other neutral colors. Even though the color was nothing people expected from him, he still adored it. Some thought that his big love for the Slytherins and Slytherin house would be everywhere they'd see around him. Not to mention his room, they thought that posters of serpents and logos would be stuck on its walls. Benjamin was no fanatic but he was someone proud and arrogant about it. Did he care? No, absolutely not. "There's nothing wrong in your bed." Benjamin just looked away from her as she resumed the coloring of that picture in her book. It was a centaur who was doing something in the forest. It seemed like those creatures that were there in the Forbidden Forest in Hogwarts. The boy leaned over and looked to the picture. "Nice choice. So far the easiest, I daresay." Muttered the Slytherin to his little sister that was busy coloring. His green eyes went wide with disbelief immediately. All this time, his sister had no idea? When in the whole universe would be she be able to wake up because of sounds? Their parents were arguing about something and Benjamin even heard something shatter. "Expected. Last night, of course." He replied with a look of annoyance. Sometimes, he did not realize that his sister could be sometimes dense. But she was also clever at the same time.

Answering the question was quite easy, since it was always expected for a seven year old female to be as small as her. Victoria looked at her brother with a bored face. She always adored how stupid he was sometimes in front of her and how he would rarely see how obvious the answer to his question was. Benjamin was trained to be someone who would always want to win their fights even though he would be facing a lady, but Victoria seemed a joke to him. She was only his sister, and she would bet that Benjamin would never treat her as someone he would highly respect like their father. She did not mind though since she really was not used to people who would gawk at her and stare, with absolute admiration in them. Her emotions were also something she did not had control over so she immediately showed a look of disbelief. I'm seven. What do you expect?" She drawled with her high pitched voice dripping with boredom. Seven year olds were supposed to be enjoying their dear life with no problem at all. Victoria always had company along with her books and the sea's lovely view. Just looking at it made her relax but the waters were something she did not want to plunge deeply in. The depths of the ocean scared her even though she has been seeing it all her lifetime. Victoria did not bother to look up as she colored the picture of the centaur just in front of her, with her belly on the bed. "I know." She drawled once more. Her bed had a pure white sheet on it that did not allow her to have it filthy. Unlike Benjamin's the remains of her crayons would hopefully not be suspected by mother. The elves could clean it for her, if she would order them too but she did not want. Elves were fragile things for her and they could be easily beaten out with the truth out from them.

The centaur's whole body was finished with its face full of life with the color that Victoria applied onto it. The face of the creature had a light shade of brown on it. Its mysterious face had it colored with that kind of shade with the hair applied with black colors. It was colored in different directions though Victoria did not really mind about it. She looked at it with admiration, hoping that the picture would be almost equal with perfection. Her standards with her coloring activities were pretty high and usually, she would throw the paper away from her in frustration, trying to figure out on how she could color it better next time. "This one? Not really. There's a picture of a garden in one of the earlier pages and I think that's the easiest." She replied, quickly glancing on Benjamin's direction. She got the color green and rubbed the tip of the crayon gently on the surface of the paper, to color the leaves. There were trees surrounding the centaur that seemed to be hunting or looking for something. It had a discontent expression on its face yet Victoria did not mind it. She wanted to know the outcome of her drawing, to see if she has been improving or not. "Last night? What happened last night?" She asked with nervousness in her tone. She always thought that her parents were fine with one another, their relationship not breaking through the years that they have been together. Have they been drifting apart lately? "Benjamin! Tell me!" She yelled. Her young features were all captured into scared look, hoping that her brother would bring her some news that would not affect her at all.

What he just said seemed completely stupid to his ears. He quickly reddened but tried hiding it. She was, after all, trying to position herself lying her belly down on his mattress. He bit the inner skin in his mouth just behind his cheeks to keep him from answering. Until it hurt, he let go and ignored the pain and looked away from her direction. He planned to keep the silence from her, just so she would forget what she was just telling him a while ago. Benjamin did not really look as easy as he could be, but with Victoria, he acted stupid. It was a normal sibling relationship minus the rivalry that most siblings would contain between or among themselves. Ben thought of that drawl she made and smirked. It was almost the same as his, when he would try snapping back at someone who thought of themselves as a high person. Was his sister growing up to be a Slytherin just like him? Or maybe a competitive Ravenclaw with high standards? Neither was okay anyways. Ravenclaws were highly witty, and Benjamin could easily say that Victoria could grow up into an intelligent lady if she just tried to be so. He still did not know if she inherited the looks of their mother but he let a wave of patience brush over him. Victoria was to young to judge and to naive. Next time, she would be better to look at. Maybe two or three years from now.

Skipping her two responses made the room even silent than it usually was. Not one of them spoke as he watched Victoria color the picture in front of her green eyes. Benjamin's own eyes went to his window and looked at the leaves rustling outside, not even caring if the tree would fall down or not. The manor was something that could be repaired easily with a flick of his father's wand. Again, the Slytherin looked at the picture of his busy sister that was trying to make her coloring perfect as ever. She was always like that. Never ever would she give up and be hopeless. Benjamin had no talent in those drawing things yet he could irk someone shamelessly with ease anytime. "Have you colored it already?" He asked her, trying to peek in again to see if she was done. Just as expected, she got the other crayon and began to color the leaves of a tree. Benjamin sighed to himself, mentally reminding himself to draw in class if he would be bored to death. The second semester would come along and Benjamin did not really care if he would get high marks or not. "Have you not heard their arguments just in their bedroom? They forgot to cast the Muffliato Charm and so I heard it easily. It was a hard night. Mother seemed to talk the finances and father would always shout 'no' or 'never'. You're such an alert sleeper Victoria. I praise you for that." He answered sarcastically with that smirk on his face again. His sister was no one new to arguments but she was a person who was not usual to their parents' fights. Benjamin smirked at her with his American accent still ringing in his head.

What she just had said made a small effect on her, thinking once more if she just heard herself speak like that. It made her stiff, thinking of her high voice, smug drawl and bossy response. She grew up just like her own mom, but it seemed that Victoria was having Benjamin as one of her own body guards and it also looked that her brother was contaminating her with his own language when it came with socializing. Drawling was not really one of her usual tones with her voice yet she managed to utter it out. She murmured quietly, "I just talked like you." She frowned despite what her father could react to that. The females in the Chase clan were not so absurd as the males and Victoria always kept that in mind. She was one quiet member of the family, who did not really do anything except to read and to communicate using her body language and a small amount of her voice. She was not particularly shy. She was just someone who preferred silence to herself. Victoria judged herself easily, trying to meditate on her acts thinking if that was correct or not. "Yes. Do you want to see it?" She gently offered as she looked up with an innocent smile on her face. Her coloring had been improving day by day, but it still was not perfect just like the painters that she would see during exhibits that she would often go with her mother. She found it interesting for a seven year old. Benjamin thought of it as a boring thing with nothing to gaze at. There was no entertainment there for him, but Victoria found it interesting to watch. It took time, yes, but that was nothing if she would see the final picture with her green eyes. "Quit the sarcasm Ben. How should I know? I'm not someone who spies other people during late nights." She replied with her green eyes that matched Benjamin's a lot, looking at him with the same childish determination. She had a small frown patched on her lips but she still did not seem to feel it.
