Sleep Is For The Weak

Aaron had been having the time of his life at Hogwarts, he spent most of his time (when not in classes) in the Gryffindor common room bonding with his fellow first years. He had grown particularly close to Lucas, Elizabeth and Zara. They all had a shared interest in looking for adventure and looking to create fun in whatever they did. He was lucky to have such good friends that would share in his search for new experiences and who would help him to create unforgettable memories.

It had soon reached nightfall and Aaron jumped out of bed and signaled to his best friend, Lucas, that it was time to put their plan into action. He put on his slippers and slowly opened the door so as not to wake his fellow room mates and slipped out into the corridor. He tiptoed down the stairs and waited in the common room for the others to surface so they could begin their adventure.

Zara was glad to have made such good friends at Hogwarts. Not that it was ever a particular concern for her, but now she had truly grown to create a bond with a few friends that shared the same interests as her and that she wouldn't want to lose for the world. People like Luke, Evelyn, Aaron, Liz, Beth, etcetera, etcetera. Her Gryffindor group of friends had managed to become especially close, and she couldn't imagine not taking up seat next to them during classes or not going on cool and crazy adventures together with them. It was only their first year together but she hoped nothing bad would come between them.

After the whole forest incident Zara was sure her mother wouldn't be too happy if she got in any trouble, whether she found out about everything that she did or not, but she supposed her marks would make up for it in the end. Who knew actually trying in class could come with such benefits? It allowed her a little bit of leeway, which made for some great stories. So when she had agreed to go on a nighttime adventure with a few of her close friends today, she was abuzz with excitement and put on her usual dark clothing for both their camouflage and sneaky aesthetics, before slipping downstairs to the common room-- quietly of course, as she didn't want to wake her roommates. As she made it to the common room, she immediately spotted the boys. "Bonsoir my friends. I've got the snacks as usual," Zara whispered, shooting them her bright smile and wave. Beth wasn't in the same room as her but she didn't doubt the girl would get there soon; she was just as much an adventure-lover as Zar. And boy would this be one heck of an adventure.

[Lucas Woodlock]

Lucas loved a good plan to create mischief. Sure his hope that having a relative on staff would leave him somewhat untouchable had fallen flat on his face. He had already been in Professor Kingsley's office a couple of times, but who cared? What's the worst that could happen if he got into a bit of trouble now and then? He wouldn't get prefect? Lucas didn't want responsibility anyway, Riley could do that as he suspected Aaron would be just as ineligible as him by the time such a decision came around.

There was a plan in place or something to do with the library, but unlike Aaron Lucas had actually fallen asleep when he got into bed so when he heard movement coming from the direction of Aaron's bed he mumbled something that made little sense. "Five more minutes mum," He mumbled and turned over to go back to sleep but in doing so he fell out of bed. "Ok I'm up," He said getting to his feet urgently. "Oh right yeah we're doing stuff," He nodded pulling on his dressing gown and slippers and followed Aaron out of the dorm. Coming down into the common room they were greeted with the ever chipped Zara, Lucas waved his hand in an attempt to dismiss her. "Zar, ssssshhhh, some of us actually got woke up for this,"

 

[Elizabeth Benivieni]

Elizabeth was looking forward to tonight. She had made some plans with a few people that she started to see as friends. It was going to be her first time for a night adventure with others. She had tried to sneak out in the night on her own but not always with succes. The Gryffindor was on her way to the common room but had to be really quiet for her roommates. They were all sleeping thank god, but she knew herself she was very clumsy sometimes. She grabbed her bag with her wand and a few others things that might be handy and almost stubbed her toe to the side of a bed. She sighted and took the stairs to the Common Room. When she heard a few not very loud voices she walked towards them. '' Hi guys, Is the adventure squad ready to make some memories?'' She smiled at them so excited for this trip. She heard Zara saying that she brought snacks with her, that was a really nice idea. '' We also could pay a visit in the kitchens when we get hungry, Aaron loves cake don't you Aaron?'' She chuckled thinking about her previous adventure in the kitchens together with Aaron were they had a cake fight.

Aaron didn't have to wait long before the rest of his friends joined him in the common, even Lucas who looked like he'd rather be in bed then anywhere else at that moment. He slapped his best friend on the back and said "glad you were able join us" he winked. He turned to Zara "nice idea on bringing the snacks!" he said, grinning at the young Gryffindor girl. She was also dressed completely in black which was a great idea for sneaking around in the dark, something that Aaron had completely overlooked, standing there in his pyjamas and slippers. Luckily, he wasn't the only one as Lucas had also chosen pyjamas over stealthy clothes.

There was only one more person that they were waiting for before they could start their midnight adventure and she had joined them in the common room not long after Lucas had dragged himself out of bed. "Elizabeth! Hey" he said as she joined the group. "Oh yeah, I could do with a visit to the kitchens, I fancy some cake actually. Speaking of, got it out of your hair yet Lizzie?" he asked, laughing.

He clapped his hands together and looked around the group "so, we're all here. Are we all ready?" he asked his fellow Gryffindors. What they were about to do was either going to be very stupid, or very fun. Or both. Aaron just hoped that they would be able to make it out of the common room and get back again without getting caught. It probably wouldn't happen but it was a nice thought.

 

[Zara Lovette]

Zara beamed at the acknowledgement of her brilliant idea from Aaron before sticking her tongue out at Luke. "Oh shush, I'm the highlight of your day and you know it." She whispered in dismissal of his dismissal though she paused, considering her statement. "Well, as long as Evie isn't around I am." It was quite humorous how in awe the boy was of their lovely friend. She glanced over their clothing and shook her head. Pyjamas? They were on a mission! She'd have to give them her mission to-do list next time (which of course she had made-- she absolutely loved to-do lists). Soon Elizabeth had chosen to join them and she suggested going to the kitchens, which Zar silently agreed to. It was one part of the castle that she hadn't been yet, and she was eager to see what it looked like. Also, food.

"So, we're all here. Are we all ready?"

Zar went over her short mental list of things needed since her physical copy was somewhere in the bottom of her bag. She had double-checked it earlier and even tired Prissy out by letting him have a go at a ball of yarn. No distractions needed. She didn't need an angry howler from her mum, but she couldn't let such a minuscule fear stop her from an adventure with her friends. At least she wasn't breaking anything... Hopefully. The young lioness was quick with her answer before she turned to the others. "Ready!"

[Lucas Woodlock]

Usually, when there was a plan in place for exploring and potential mischief, Lucas would be the first one to make a plan but at that moment all he wanted was to crawl back into bed and go back to sleep. His fellow Gryffindor's didn't appear to be as effected by their lack of sleep as he was. "Seriously does no one else here sleep?" He asked almost growling. Zara dismissed his comment and stuck her tongue out at him, Lucas laughed at her and smiled, he pulled a straight face that Evie would top her as being the highlight to his day. "Sush, no one else knows," He said quietly to her staring at her. "But it is always nice to see you Zar, even at this time,"

Lucas smiled weakly at his best friend as he seemed to take charge of the group, he raised his eyebrow at Aaron who didn't usually take on the leadership role but with Lucas being so tired and lacking any real energy he decided to let him continue. It would be good for him to be more confident and be at the front more often. "Lead the way buddy," He smiled at him rubbing his eyes as he became more and more awake.

 

[Elizabeth Benivieni]

Elizabeth started to like thing more and more at Hogwarts. But meeting this people was the greatest thing until now, because they were all not afraid of breaking a rule and do some crazy stuff. And there weren't many of them who liked that, so it was a sign to keep this three close to her, she hoped so. She waved enthiosaticly to Aaron and burst out in laughter about what Aaron said about the cake. But she held her hand before her mouth quick after she noticed that maybe it was a little bit too loud and gave a little playfull push towards Aaron. '' Didn't you knew that we were all vampires Lucas. We don't sleep!'' She joked towards Lucas with a smile. She wasn't sleepy at all she was so ready for this! Looking around what the others were wearing made her think about her outfit again. She was also dressed into her pajamas, because when they got caught she could made up a thing it would be better to be in a pajamas than a outfit that screamed: I was not in bed. When Aaron and Zara said they were ready Elizabeth looked around if somebody would spy on them, but she didn't saw much. '' I was born ready for this!'' As energetic as always Elizabeth responded at the three. She walked over to the exit door that led to the stairs and opened the door quietly, and waited for her friends to follow. She was about to take the lead first, but Lucas invited Aaron to take the lead so she awarded him that. They had also experiance in sneaking out so maybe it was a good idea to follow them. She herself was a bit reckless so maybe if this had to succeed she had to follow them first. '' I think the coast is clear.. so Aaron will you go first?'' She said friendly towards him.

Aaron paused for a minute to take the time to savour the moment. He had his best friends surrounding him and they were going to share in an incredible adventure. He was very happy and not even getting caught by a Prefect or a Professor would change his mood that night. Aaron grinned at the other Gryffindors as they announced, one by one, that they were ready to go. He didn't know how or when he decided to become the leader but it seemed to come naturally to him in that situation. Normally, he would have expected Lucas or Zara to take the lead but it seemed that they were too preoccupied. He grinned at Lizzie and walked towards the exit "no, we'll go together" he said and he took her hand as he began to sneak out of the common room. Aaron paused for a second to turn back to the other two to wave them over. Four young Gryffindors out of bed, what could go wrong?

Zara was slightly surprised that Luke had mentioned no one knew about the couple; she supposed she hadn't considered the fact that she was close friends with both Evelyn and Lucas so she probably knew more than most. It really only boosted her morale as a best friend to know that she was special. Nodding, she gave a wink and playfully zipped her mouth shut to show that she understood before returning to the group.

Aaron had seemingly taken a lead this time, which was a pleasant sort of change for Zar as she was usually used to declaring herself the queen of adventures and dragging people around as she wished... It wasn't bossiness, just confidence. She watched as all of a sudden Aaron pulled Beth to come along and perhaps she was more tired than she thought because it took a second for her to respond. They paused and Zar smiled before nodding and making her way over, with a glance over to Luke as he did the same. They found the exit and Zar peeked her head out slowly, glancing around. "Coast is clear~" It would be a bummer if their adventure had to end before they even fully made it out.

[Elizabeth Benivieni]

When Aaron grabbed her hand Elizabeth laughed towards Aaron. '' Are you afraid of going alone? '' She said while smiling at Aaron who was walking before her.
'' Look out! There is Styx.'' she said while pointing her finger to the front, and went diving to the ground while still holding Aaron his hand, so that she could pull him with her. With a poker face she looked a bit shocked. '' Joke, it was just a ghost.'' It was a joke, he wasn't there but Elizabeth wanted to see their faces. She definitly didn't want to see Styx on this time, Lucas told once that he heard a rumour of Styx being a vampire. While he was the type for it, so maybe at night he was walking around searching for blood. While waiting for Lucas to join them outside she looked around if the headgirl wasn't searching for someone to punish.

Lucas watched on at his best friend, first he was impressed by his sudden leadership qualities which he hadn't seen in him before and second, he noticed the little exchanges between him and Elizabeth. He looked over at Zara and raised his eyebrows drawing her gaze over to Aaron who was currently holding the other girls hand. It seemed as though Lucas wasn't the only one who had seen something he liked among their fellow Gryffindors. 'Coast is clear' rang out as everyone seemed to take it in turns to be look out and confirm they were good to go, "Ok guys, we can't all keep saying the coast is clear, Aaron, you seem to be feeling pretty confident right now, you should lead the way and be the one to see whats ahead, what do you think?" He asked his friend. It felt almost strange not to be in charge, but if Aaron's confidence was soaring and he wanted to take charge, he wasn't going to stand in his way, and he could impress Elizabeth.
