Rose was sitting in front of the warm Gryffindor fire.It was a freezing day outside and she had worn some of her warmest clothes. It was the first day of September. It would be still warm in France,it would have just gone into the season autumn but in New Zealand it was going into Spring. So instead of getting colder it was getting warmer which was great because Rose loved warm weather. She hated being cold.Though today there wasn't any signs of spring,it was still very much winter but weather was always funny in some places. She had been just resting in front of the fire after a nice warm dinner.Classes would be starting up soon and Rose had been looking over various books. She wasn't the studious type but she just wanted to be up to speed because some students would have grown up around magic. So they would have learned things from their parents or older brothers and sisters.Rose had't had that even though her Papa was a wizard. She had never seen him do magic because well she had never really seen him.Rose didn't want to be behind so for once she had been going over what they would be learning in first year and she had had been practicing different spells. They weren't too hard and Rose was happy with her progress.

The rest of the evening was free for her to do what ever she wanted. She contemplated finding some of the friends she had made but a better idea came into her head. She went upstairs to her dorm and got out her sketching pad and pencils. They had been a present from Lucie before she came here. She had been so happy when she had got the pencils and sketch pad.Her old one had been full and messy and she had just bought a normal pencil as she had never had enough to buy the proper set that she had had her eyes on for ages.It was an amazing going away present and she was going to take good care of it.She got her bag and put them carefully inside and walked back down to the common room. She walked out and headed up to the North Tower. It was be nice to sketch the grounds from above. She had never sketched from that vantage point before and she was looking forward to seeing what it would look like.Luckily the North Tower wasn't very far away so she was up there in a matter of minutes. It was cold up there and she wished she had worn a jacket but her jumper and ugg boots were keeping her pretty warm.It was quite breezy and her hair started going everywhere but she still walked until she was looking out over the walls. It was an amazing site and Rose thought it was quite beautiful. The ledge was quite thick so she set her bag down, opened her set of pencils and took one out.She then got her sketch pad.She sat up on the ledge her legs dangling over the side.It was a long way down and if she wasn't careful she could easily slip or a gust of wind could knock her off but Rose wasn't afraid of heights and she wasn't scared really. She looked around for another few minutes before beginning to draw.

Bituin was exploring the school, it was the first time she had ever been in a building so big. Let alone a school that was based on a Castle. It was later in the evening and she had put on a jumper and a jacket to keep the cold at bay. The reason being was she was going to be exploring one of the towers, the one which connected to the Owlery. Seven floors plus the lower levels and the tall towers. Everything here just seem so big. She was used to the little hut sh called home, it was right near the beach and warm all year round. When she had gotten here in New Zealand she had spent some time in the mall near Wellington. It was a muggle mall, but it seemed safer then the magica mall outside of the city limits. She was new to this whole magic buisness, but her mother told them when they got their letters she had thought they would all along. However she also told them that she was what magic folk called a Muggle. A non-magical person, and she had know idea what their father had been, weither Muggle or magic or even pureblood. Everything seemed to be a mystery to them as they got on a ship to take them to New Zealand. It had been a long trip on the ship but it seemed like it would be well worth it.

Walking along the halls Bituin found herself at the end of the tower looking down at the grounds of the school. She crossed her arms as she looked over the school. It was beautiful here, even during the night. Looking down she saw lights flowing out from the first floor and wondered how her sister was fairing underground. It wasn't quite dark out, she could still see the wide open grounds, the lake in the distance. She heard that mermaids lived there and wondered if she'd ever get to see one. Hearing a strange noise she turned and saw a girl sitting on the ledge with a pencil in hand drawing something on a paper. "Oh, Hello. Are you drawing something?" She asked the girl even though it was sort of clear the girl was.

Whenever Rose was drawing she usually blocked everything else out.Drawing was a solace for her. When ever she was sad or upset she would just grab a pencil and some paper and head out to the country-side and draw until well into late evening. She also loves to paint. That was her favorite thing to do.She didn't have any of the proper equipment.Since her papa had no job, they were pretty poor at home.Rose didn't mind too much,as long as she had paint, paper and a pencil she could live. When she was either painting or drawing she tried to image her papa doing the same.He was more a painter then a drawer.Since they had never really bonded she tried to do so by painting and drawing. It somehow made her feel closer to her papa.It was the same with the piano. She had been playing the piano since she was three. She just had a talent for it.Her mama had loved the piano and when ever Rose played she tried to imagine her mama playing it.Rose wished she had both her parents. When her mama had died she had basically lost both her parents.

There was so much to see in this castle, she had been here for a few days now and she still hadn't seen all the grounds. She was going to paint a lovely picture and send it to Lucie. She would paint the whole castle, her interpretation of it anyways because she didn't think there was any place that she could see the whole castle.Or maybe there was,she hadn't see all the grounds yet but Rose would prefer to paint it from her own mind. Her mind had wandered a bit and she had stopped drawing. She looked down at the drawing. She didn't like it,so she turned over the page and begin again.Rose was picky when it came to her art.It had to look right or she would throw it away. She always paid attention to detail. She wanted it to look as realistic as it could get.Suddenly a voice came up behind her and she jumped, almost falling to her death over the side.Thankfully that didn't happen and she looked behind her and saw a girl. She didn't recognize her. "Yeah, the grounds"She said smiling. Her heart was still beating a bit faster after the rush of adrenaline. "I'm Rose Bellard"She said

Bituin was happy to be at Hogwarts and she was glad it was actually real. She hadn't believed what the letter said to her when she first got it. Neither did her sister Josefina, both took the letters straight to their mother. Their mother had sighed and told them it was true and that witches and wizards were real and they had the chance now to go to a special school for the next seven years and learn to master magic. Her mother had seemed sad that her children were going to go, but she was happy for them. Now the two girls weren't exactly muggle born, they weren't sure what they were and didn't even know that there were terms for the different types of blood.

Looking down at the page she noticed that the girl was actually really good at drawing the ground, it was just as pretty as the real thing. Bituin loved the land, she loved to hike and run through the woods and it seemed like this place would be a beautiful place to do such things. "You're amazing at drawing," she said to the girl looking back and forth from the page and the view. As the girl introduce herself Bituin smiled in return. It was nice to met such a person who seemed so nice, and she was a talented person. "I'm Bituin (Bit-win) San Buenaventura, but feel free to make up a nickname for me if you wish," she said with a laugh as her name was pretty long.

Rose had to say Hogwarts was great. She hadn't known what to expect. It was all totally knew to her and the school was nice. She had met some really nice people, well mostly. There were one of two people who weren't so nice but Rose could forget them as long as there were nice people in this school. She wasn't used to being surrounded by so many people though. The sensation was new and almost unnerving but she knew she would get used to it in time. Her previous school hadn't been big.In fact it had been quite small, smaller the most school. They hadn't lived in Nantes,it had been just outside it and for some reason they had decided to build a school there. It had been quite nice in a way because they had been close as classes. You made friends easier but if someone didn't get on they were screwed because you were near them all the time.Thankfully that hadn't happened in her year.Any bully she had tried to stamp out immediately because if she hadn't people would have been unhappy.

Rose blushed, she was the second person to tell her that and really Rose wasn't used to it.Lucie was the only person who had seen her drawings and she hadn't really taken account her praise but when someone unrelated to her had said it then it was different. She wasn't sure what to say so she just nodded and smiled meekly her cheeks red. Rose laughed "Certainly a long name"She said smiling. She had never heard a name like it before "Nice to meet you Bituin"She said smiling widely.Bituin seemed nice and she loved making friends and she bet Bituin would be one.

Bituin smiled at the girl's blush when she complimented her drawing. She actually wished she was good at drawing or painting. Or just good at something other than getting along with a sister who had attitude problems. The young Ravenclaw liked to hike and run, but those two things wouldn't get a person far in life, just a simple hobby. She supposed she'd worry about after school once she got older but Bituin was a worry wort about things like that. Prehaps one of the subjects would really stick with her. She still had to find someone who would go outside with her to run just to run.

The young girl laughed at the comment about her name, it wasn't even her full name. She had her middle name, Omana but she hadn't shared that with the girl named Rose. It didn't seem like a thing that people normally shared with others. "I'm Ravenclaw," she added to the conversation unsure where they should go with their poliete conversing.

Sorry about the size and time it's taken

Rose had liked all the people she had met so far, well there was only one but maybe Rose had caught him on an of night. The two had been in the forest in the middle of the night.Rose had been more irritable then usual and he just hadn’t seemed nice.It seemed to Rose that their personalities had just clashed. That is bound to happen, not everyone you meet is going to like you or vice versa.Rose didn’t mind really there were plenty of other nice people in this school that were worth a lot more of her time, like Bituin here. She seemed really nice and sweet.Rose had now sketched half of the grounds. Her page was being blown by the wind which was kind of annoying but Rose persevered.Bituin said she was in Ravenclaw. “I’m in Gryffindor”Rose said looking up and smiling at the girl “How do you like Hogwarts so far?”She asked curiously
