Raymond Mandy entered the Great Hall and was in awe. This was how great magic was. Attending classes had made him really tired, and he deserved this. He decided to be a skeleton. He had to wear a lot of makeup because his complexion was darker, but it did not bother him He went and grabbed a handful of candy. He doubted his sister was going to show up at the feast because she hated loud places. She had become extremely sensitive, which he found irritating. No female was supposed to be so sensitive! Ray Ray carried a Sally doll under his arm. She was Jack's lover, so she had to be apart of his outfit somehow. He managed to get a doll. He did not know how, so Raymond just assumed he had a secret charm. He wanted to dance, but he couldn't dance. He used to dance all the time, but then he became more self conscious. Now, he cared about his image and whether he was embarrassing himself.

Aliyah practically skipped all the way to the Great Hall for the Halloween Feast and the black cape she was wearing fluttered behind her. Her costume this year was a vampire, complete with fangs and strawberry jelly blood. The first year froze in the doorway of the Great Hall amazed at what she saw. The decorations, the pumpkins, and the food. Locking her eyes on the food table, she purposefully walked towards it only to be cut of by some monster. She glared up at the older student as he took the cookie she had been eyeing and mocked her with it. She couldn't tell who the person was because they were wearing a mask but their rudeness was unmistakeable. The young Slytherin rolled her eyes as the costumed student walked away.

With a small plate of cookies in hand, Aliyah searched for something to do while she munched. She spotted a boy dressed like a skeleton and she recognized the boy's fluffy hair as a fellow Slytherin although she didn't know his name. The girl's hair was normally loose and curly as well, but today she opted for a different look with a smooth high bun. She walked up to the boy and gave him a smile. "Hi! You're a first year Slytherin right?" she said offering him a cookie from her plate. "Cute doll." she playfully teased. She assumed that it had something to do with his costume, but the reference was lost on her.

Raymond had yawned for a second time. Why was he so bored? He had stuffed the candy in his pocket because he no longer wanted to hold it. It was all wrapped, so he did not have to worry about it melting in his pocket. It would have been funny if it did melt, but Raymond was not up for being embarrassed. He hugged the Sally doll to his chest. She was his only friend right now. He could not recognize anyone else. But, someone had recognized him. It was probably because of his hair. He had very wild hair, but he thought it was cute. Hence, he never let Michelle touch it. Raymond looked to the girl and nodded. "Raymond Mandy," he told the girl with a smile. He was glad that she had decided to talk to him. This was one of the times when Ray Ray did not feel like being outgoing. It was nice to have someone come up to him for once. He did not know the other girl's name, so he was expecting an introduction as well. He had seen her in classes, and he knew that her future was promising. "She's a frankenstein, except she's female." he held out the doll for the girl to examine it. He was very serious about his doll. They had grown close in the few minutes they had been together.

Aliyah took another bite of a cookie, her fake fangs immediately breaking the pastry to pieces. Eating was proving to be a bit more difficult that she thought it would be, but the cookies tasted so good. "Aliyah Wright." she said to Raymond in return. She couldn't recall if she noticed him much in class, but she always enjoyed getting to know another housemate. Taking a closer look at the doll, it was clear that it wasn't as cute as her initial comment had implied. Aliyah never really played with dolls much growing up, but she knew an attractive one when she saw it. She often got them as gifts for her birthday or christmas, especially from the muggle side of her family. She was glad to be aging out of that kind of stuff because if she got one more tropical beach barbie she was going to flip out. The eleven year old nodded when Raymond explained that the doll was a frankenstein. It made a little more sense with its patchwork dress and stitches everywhere, but the doll was homely and Aliyah still didn't get his costume. The older boy who stole her cookie was dressed up like Frankenstein and she supposed the doll was cuter than that guy's outfit. "She is...ummm... really special..." she said as diplomatically as she could. "But I still don't get it. You are a skeleton with a doll." she said confused.

Raymond nodded after the girl told him her name was Aliyah. It was an okay name. He thought Raymond was much more old and original. But, he had always liked his name the best. Aliyah did not seem to understand. He rolled his eyes. How annoying. He wanted to just walk away, but that would be very rude. Raymond was no longer that rude child he used to be. He was glad he had matured. He was sure his future was better now that he had become less childish in his actions. He was good at putting up a face. Most of the time, he did not even know that he was. "In the movie, they end up together!" he explained while shaking the doll. Ugh. He would rather read a book than stay here and talk to someone that knew nothing of fun. Raymond liked muggle movies. He did not understand that not everybody was just like him. "I'm not stupid." he pouted. Ray Ray turned away from the girl, and he hugged the doll. He wasn't stupid. He was going to get somewhere in life. The Slytherin was obsessed with the future. A woman had told him that he was a natural in Divination. He had taken that to heart.

Aliyah blinked at Raymond, confused by his reaction. "Dang...what did she ever do to you?" she asked amused as he shook the doll around. "So in the movie the frankenstein doll and the skeleton get together in the end." she repeated, trying to fit together some plot to the characters the boy was describing. The eleven year old watched movies. She even would watch really really old ones with her grandmother when she went to visit. But her grandmother would have never watched something with those types of characters and Aliyah must have missed it on her own. She might have been interested in the movie if Raymond had bothered to explain. She rolled her eyes dramatically in return when her housemate announced he wasn't stupid. She almost had to hold in a laugh. For someone who was so sure he wasn't stupid, he was acting completely dense. The girl's mood immediately shifted when Raymond turned away from her. That was rude and unacceptable. She had been nothing but nice to him and even offered him a cookie! Not wanting him to get away that easily, she grabbed his shoulder lightly with the intention of getting him to turn around to face her. "Hey! What's you problem?" her tone becoming more direct. "No one called you stupid and I just wanted to know what you costume was."

Raymond nodded slowly. This girl did not seem to get it. Whatever. He was done explaining it to her. He really did not want to get too irritated. He felt like something was punishing him. He would do no more explaining. This girl was not worthy of knowing about Jack Skellington and his precious adventures. Raymond was never this irritable. Before, he was very friendly. Now, he found himself getting mad at people for the smallest things. He was beginning to become like his sister, too sensitive. Ravynn was the bright one, and he loved her dearly. But, even she could not escape his negative moods. The Sorting Hat must have made a mistake. Raymond had wanted to be in Slytherin before, but, now, he thought it was going to ruin his future altogether. How was he going to make friends when he could not express himself properly. How was he ever going to meet his mysterious older brother? He sighed and spun around to look at the girl. "I am obviously a skeleton!" he stated while pointing to his face. Did he paint his entire face for nothing? Adding the doll had been a horrible idea. It was getting more attention than the main part of his costume, himself. "You're clearly blind if you could not see that. This is just a prop! The main focus is supposed to be all this stupid stuff on my face!" he yelled and threw the doll on the ground. Evil spirits must have been surrounding him because he was not the happiest camper.

This whole interaction had become too confusing to Aliyah. She came to the Halloween Feast to have a good time, eat some food, and may be even dance a little, but her evening was going down hill fast thanks to Raymond. "Gathered that much." she snapped back when he said he was a skeleton. That much was obvious. He was silly to think that no one would ask about the doll. If he chose to included it, it must have been important. She just wanted to know why. She couldn't have been the only one who has never heard of the movie that he was trying to reference. "I saw your face and I knew you were a skeleton." she tried to say in as even a tone she could muster. The boy's yelling would draw attention to the pair and that was something the first year most certainly didn't want. She had noticed Sage and some of her professors scattered around the party. Her costume wasn't much of a disguise and she was not going to act a fool in front of them, let alone the whole school. "And if the doll wasn't important, then you should have left your little girlfriend at home." she said as leaned down to pick up the doll off of the ground. The Slytherin was tempted to shove it into his mouth to keep him from shouting. She opted instead to do the proper thing and give it back, although shoving it roughly back at him probably wasn't the best way to do it.

Raymond was done. He was so done with this girl. It was not his fault that she knew nothing. The boy was not going to respond to her anything she said. Aliyah clearly was not worthy of his time. Females weren't worthy of his time anymore. Guys were much easier to communicate with. They were not so freaking sensitive! Raymond could not say much on that, because he was very sensitive when it came to how others viewed him. He still had quite a bit of growing up to do, But he had many years to do it. There was no point in starting now. That would take the fun out of being a kid. He took the doll that the girl had shoved at him. He held it tightly in his hands. Girlfriend? Oh no she didn't. He threw the doll at the girl's face. "You keep it. You're both worthless." he hissed and shoved the girl out of his way as he walked off. This was over.

Raymond was being ridiculous. He was ridiculous and rude and immature and dense. Aliyah could feel herself getting more and more tense every second she spent with the boy. She stood her ground glaring at her housemate. Suddenly the doll that had been the cause of all this messing came flying toward her. The Slytherin was too shocked to move out of the way and it smacked her squarely in her face. Worthless! Wortherless?!? Raymond's words echoed angrily in her head. The first year really wished she knew a good hex or two. She would have aimed a couple straight at the boy's face. Seeing bats fly out his nose or watching him vomit up a couple slugs would feel so much more rewarding than slapping him. Her housemate clearly didn't know who he was talking too. Aliyah wasn't one to think she was better than anyone else, but she knew her worth and she didn't take being treated poorly lightly.

Aliyah was fuming mad and before she could even open her mouth to tell him off, Raymond shoved her knocking her off balance, sending the remaining cookies she was holding to the ground. She glanced from her now empty plate to the back of the boy's fluffy hair covered head. Yeah...he is going to the top of my To Hex List... she thought bitterly to herself as watched him go. She looked down at the broken remains of her desserts. They were tasty but now they were ruined, just like her first feast at Hogwarts. The tension that was building inside her suddenly exploded. She quickly picked up the doll and stormed out of the Great Hall, still painfully aware that their were eyes everywhere. Once she made her way to the quiet of the entrance hall, she screamed and threw the plate she was holding to the ground, not caring if it broke or made a bigger mess. Exhausted and disappointed, she went back down to the Slytherin Dungeons wanting to forget that this night ever happened.
