Killian found himself somewhat ready for this next session, though he was sure that he would not be able to cast this on himself because of the whole clashing magic bit. And rather than chance it and fail, he would simply use something else. Or someone else. He had his arms folded over his chest as the sixth years filed into the classroom. Soon, it was time to start the lesson. Killian tapped his finger against his arm as he thought of how he was going to do this. "I hope that you have done the reading that I laid out for you the previous lesson. Otherwise, this lesson is not going to make sense starting out."
He looked over the students, and assumed that there were some here that had not done the reading. Oh well. They would have to play catch up because he was not going to slow down for their sake. "So, let's see who has done their homework. Who can tell me what the Disillusionment Charm does?" Killian asked. His green eyes looked over some of the students, and eventually gestured toward a student that raised their hand. They answered the question correctly, and so he moved on. At least someone did do their homework, or at least, prepared for that single question. Killian was satisfied with that.
"Right, so the Disillusionment charm causes an object or a person to become similar to a chameleon, which you all should know what they are famous for." Killian took out his wand, and cast the spell over the desk to make it seemingly disappear. He leaned forward to put his arms on it, and though it looked 'invisible' to the point where they could see how the professor was sitting, it was still there. He even tapped his wand against the wood, sending the sound echoing through the room. He tapped the desk once more and it reappeared. "The Disillusionment charm is mostly used to hide magical creatures from those that should not see them. It works to a point, but not against those that have magical protection. I am sure you remember Clashing Magic."
Killian paused to take a drink from his coffee. "When you cast the charm upon yourself or on others, it will feel like someone cracked an egg on their head. You just wave your wand around yourself, like this, to cast it." Killian demonstrated with the wand movement but did not cast it. "Since I am part-giant, I have magical resistance in my genes, so I don't bother with attempting this. However, once you cast the spell, Finite, will end it. Anyway, since you are all sixth years, you can practice here on yourselves, your items, whatever you want. Or you can go elsewhere. I advise you to practice this because you will be tested on this. But don't cast it on anyone without their permission. So, you are free to go, or practice here." Killian gestured for the students to go do as they pleased.
Assignment: RP the lesson. Whoever answers the question gets EC.
