Lily made her way out of the Castle and down to the Quidditch pitch, her broom under her arm.
She hadn't gone flying since she had arrived at Hogwarts New Zealand, and had taken a sudden notion.
Lily was a good flyer and she loved it, but she had to be in the mood for it, otherwise she would find herself loosing concentration and falling from her broom. This was why she hadn't tried out for the Quidditch team.
Arriving on the pitch, she mounted her broom, tucking a strand of her brilliantly red hair behind her ear, before kicking off of the ground and flying into the cold spring air. A wide smile on her face, she done a few laps of the pitch before zooming through two of the goal hoops and doing a loop-de-loop. Arriving in the middle, she accelerated and flew upwards, until she was high above the Castle, when she sped downwards at top speed, pulling upwards moments before she would hit the ground. Flying into the NE section, she stopped abruptly and peered around herself.
She had now been at Hogwarts a good month, and she still had made no progress in the friends department. She had been hoping to maybe meet someone out on the Pitch, but as far as she could see, she was the only person there!

Lily was bored. Up in the Ravenclaw tower she was sick of studying and no one was around to get a game going with, so she grabbed her broom and headed out toward the pitch to go flying. Having the wind whipping through her hair was always a great feeling. She might not be able to play a game, but she could at least do some laps and burn off some energy.

Heading out of the castle, she quickly walked down to the pitch. As she approached, she noticed that someone else was flying around, and then stopped. Lily hoped that the redheaded girl would not mind her joining in, and mounted her broom. Kicking off from the ground, she flew up and made a quick lap, moving towards the southern end of the pitch. She weaved around the goal posts, then flew up to the NE section of the pitch at breakneck speed. She stopped, pulling up next to the girl that was hovering there. She didn't recognize her at all, so she introduced herself. "Hope you don't mind me flying too," she said with a smile, "I don't think we have met before. I'm Lily Potter."
