Isaiah had no date to the valentine's dance, but he hadn't exactly sought one out, asking Keye wouldn't work, she'd hate these events, asking Kylie was out when he'd noted her with Pia's younger brother, asking Archie was a no go, because obviously he was with the king of the flowers, instead Isaiah sat alone vaguely listening to the music of the hall drift out to the courtyard. The ravenclaw captain had his wand in front of him and he was using it to write words into the air, much like how he'd done many years before, pointless flourishes into the air. The boy couldn't have imagined the path his life would take at that point, but here he now was, and while he didn't have a crush currently he did have something with Archie it wasn't exactly what most others were currently celebrating. Isaiah tried to tell himself that he wasn't bothered by this fact, not really, after all, he had homework and quidditch, classes and the brotherhood, what time did he have for love or relationships of any kind, but it had been odd to watch others pair up on a such a day and for some reason really display their affection for one another.

Perhaps this was what the school needed, after all, quidditch had nothing to solve the mood, for the first time in all his years as a player he could concede that perhaps quidditch wasn't the answer to everything. Isaiah had not enjoyed loosing, and he had felt bad for the slytherin team loosing also, but for once it wasn't a feeling that lingered, it flew away and he was just left being glad the games had been short. A game like the one his team and the slytherin team had played would have been less welcome. Isaiah ran a hand through the fading blonde hair, a little sigh escaping his lips as his gaze wandered up to the sky above him, how odd the last few weeks had been, how deeply he wished they were different, and for once, Isaiah felt a little annoyed that on this night of couples and love he found himself sitting alone.
