Imogen Day was by no definition a heavy sleeper, in fact she was the exact opposite. She woke up early and went to bed a lot later than most 11 year old's and just most in general. This morning, it was no different. She'd woken before the first crack of dawn. Immy was wide awake and bored of lying on her bed listening to the sound of her room mates sleep. Quietly, Imogen slipped out of bed and got dressed. She walked down to the common room and sat on one of the warm chairs by the warm morning fire. She wondered what she could do. It was way too early for anything to eat and it was too early for the library to be open. The only place Immy could go were the grounds. Getting up from where she was sitting, Immy made her way out of the warm homely common room.

The corridors were cold and Imogen felt herself begin to shiver. She rubbed her hands against her arms in the hope she'd warm up. Immy was walking slowly down the corridor. Every step she took seemed to bounce off the the cold stone walls of the castle. Immy walked down the many stairs, taking each step with caution. There was a deadly silence on the stairs. No one was awake. No one was up. The silence was exactly what Immy thought, everyone needed. Immy looked around her. Though she knew she was the only one up this early, the echo of her footsteps made Immy worried that she wasn't the alone. Immy finally reached the door outside, she looked round her one final time, took a large breath and walked outside.

Outside it felt like freezer, every part of Imogen was cold. The air was still. There would be no wind that day. It would be a warm day. Immy walked down to by the lake. The sun was soon going to begin to rise. The area of the sky away from the lake had a lighter colour. A lighter blue. Immy sat down facing where the sun would rise. She slid off her shoes and threw them to the side. Immy lay down on her back and looked up to the slowly brightening sky. It felt peaceful. It was silent. As Immy stared up, her mind began to slowly drift away. Memories from the past few months playing in her mind.

The lessons, her essay, the book's she'd read. The student clubs she'd joined. The explorer club meeting had been on Immy had enjoyed a lot. The fashion club meeting and how she knew she didn't fit in with them. The Gryffindor try-outs and how much pride she'd felt during them. The flying, the playing. Immy's mind began to reel quickly through all the people she'd met, since she'd first touched New Zealand soil. Her friends. Her mind thought back to the day she'd become a Daisy Princess. She'd met Teddy that day. Immy was unsure how she felt towards him. She liked him, a lot but Immy didn't understand how much she liked him. He made her smile and laugh. He was quite cute too. Sure they didn't always agree on things but this was normal. That day had been the first day she'd ever felt truly herself. In the simple act of putting a few daisies together in a chain, Immy had laughed more than she had, in a very long time.

Immy's mind continued to wander as she watched the darkness slowly fading and the light of morning appearing. It was quiet, Immy knew she need this and since the gossip magazine had been released she knew that some others probably did too. A quiet moment to just think. A completely sound free start to a day.

"So, let us mark this day with remembrance of who we are and how far we have come" Immy whispered to herself unaware she'd said anything.

Corrie wpke up early again. Unlike his room mates he had gotten used to the new waking up pattern and had begun to wake up around five in the morning. queitly and slowly he got dressed into a large jumper his father had given him and a pair of old jeans,

Like the past few days when he had woken before everyone else, Corrie made his way down to the lake. He paused when he left the castle and saw it, just watching the rippples in the water and the half risen sun bounce off it. He put his hands in his pockets and made his way down to the closest part of it.

As he got there he saw a girl standing alone watching the sky, she seemed deep in thought. Corrie went to walk away when he heard her mutter something. Lookng around, he was sure they were the only ones outside.Corrie just wasn't sure if she knew he was there or if she was talking to herself. "Were you talking to me?" He used a soft voice, as not to scare her if she didn't know he was there.

A voice spoke. Immy was unsure if she had even heard anything. She shook her head slightly and turned to face where the voice had come from. A boy, about her age was standing in front of her. She smiled to him and slowly shook her head. The question he'd asked made Immy have questions of her own. Had she spoken. What had she said. Immy realised she was staring at the boy and had not spoken any words.

"No. I wasn't. I don't think I was."Immy said slowly, her voice softer than usual. She looked curiously towards the boy. What was he doing up this early. Had he followed her or just had the same idea as her to come out early. Immy glanced back up to the sky. "I'm watching the sunrise, would you like to join me?"

Corrie nodded, a little confused by her answer, and went to carry on walking. He paused when she asked if he wanted to join her. Well, why not? I do only have one friend here. He turned around and nodded again before walking over to where the girl sat. "I'm Corrie." His accent was barely noticable but was there, he couldn't hide it as well when he was tired.

Immy smiled as the boy came and sat down beside her. She was liking the company of someone she didn't know. It helped the silence. Immy kept her eyesight towards the sun slowly rising, while listening as the boy introduced himself. He had an accent, Immy was a little unsure of which but it was very clear to her that he had one.

"Imogen or Immy"Imogen said, her own english accent soft and subtle. "Where are you from, I can't place your accent."

Corrie clenched his jaw, mantally yelling at himself for letting it be noticable. I should be more careful! Before he answered he just prayed that this Immy girl was muggleborn or non-judgmental. "Bulgaria." He cringed ever so slightly, waiting for the assumptions.

Immy nodded and smiled as he said where he was from. Bulgaria. She really was meeting people from all over the world here in New Zealand. She saw the boy, Corrie cringed. Immy couldn't understand why. Bulgaria was a lovely country from what Immy had seen about it. She couldn't see why he'd cringe at it.

"Bulgaria, wow that is so cool. I'm from Wales." Imogen said smiling "Do you like living in Bulgaria?" Immy asked avoiding the question she really had in her brain with one that could possibly answer it.

Corrie sighed in relief as she appeared to have missed his cringe. He thought about the question for a bit, watching the last bit of the orange sky appear. "It's alright, nice views." Corrie chose not to explain about his family, he hadn't even told Kaede about them yet let alone someone he just met. "What house are you in then?" He didn't really care about the house differences but, for some reason, Corrie felt he needed to know what house she was in. Some houses, it seemed, had different views about the others.

Immy just nodded. She already knew that Bulgaria had nice view, she'd seen pictures but had never been and didn't really want to go. Immy smiled as he asked which house she was in. Imogen Day was very proud of her house. She thought it was the best house in Hogwarts.

"Gryffindor." Immy said proudly. "What about you?"

Corrie cringed once more, she was in Gryffindor. Slytherin would've been amazing, Ravenclaw would've been great, Hufflepuff would've been cool but Gryffindor was the house with the grudge against his. "Slytherin." He mumbled it fast and quiet in the hope she would pretend she heard it and forget about asking again.

Immy was barely able to even hear which house Corrie was in. She just managed to hear -erin. And of course the only house ending in that was Slytherin. Immy didn't understand why he wouldn't have Immy to hear which house he was in. She held no grudge against Slytherins or anyone from any house. She might not like people in the house but she didn't hate the house itself. Immy figured that maybe Corrie didn't want to Immy to know which house he was because he thought Immy might not like him because of it. Immy just smiled.

"Don't you love the sunrise?" Immy said looking back out to the sky smiling as she did. "It's so peaceful and beautiful."

Once again, Corrie sighed. He truly believed that this girl, Immy, hadn't heard what he had said. "Yeah, I do." He spoke truthfully, he had always loved mornings, whether he was awake early or not. "It's nice if you watch it right from the beginning, especially if you're with a friend or a loved one." Corrie supposed it would be nice with a family member aswell if you liked them but he didn't mention them.

Immy shrugged. She thought that while it would be good to watch a sunrise with someone you knew, Immy preferred if it was someone she didn't know. It meant that you didn't have to talk. It was just better when with someone unknown, like she was at that point. She had been watching this sunrise since the beginning. Immy had already been up quiet a long time.

"I don't know. I think I prefer it with someone I don't know too well." Immy said softly. "I've been watching this sunrise from the beginning and it is amazing. Are you an early bird too?"

Corrie nodded along with her, it was nice this morning watching it with her. He nodded at her question before realising she wasn't looking at him. "Yeah, alot of people think I'm strange because I love mornings. Don't get me wring, I love a good lie in aswell but mornings are brilliant."

Immy nodded smiling. She'd not really had a lie in. She naturally got up early. Very early on most days. She blamed the amount work she had to do around the house when she was back home in Wales.

"I really love mornings. They are brilliant. Not many people are up." Immy said with a smile. "Mornings are best. Okay, Sunsets or Sunrises?"

"That's tough." Corrie loved them both but for different reasons. Sunsets were there to be romantic, shared with someone close to you and to watch them as you talk together but Sunrises where gorgeous, they showed a new beginning could happen.

"I really don't know, depends what I feel. Now I'm leaning towards Sunrises but I think normally, if i wasn't watching one, it would be sunsets. You?" Corrie was slightly shocked at himself, not because of what he had said but what he hadn't said. He had always called girls 'love', it had become punctuation in a sentance to him yet, here he was and he hadn't said it once. In actual fact, he hadn't said it to anyone except Kaede.

Immy shrugged. She was actually stumped by the question, which did she prefer. Sunrises were nice and the colours of the sky were on some night magical but mornings were quieter. The show the start of something new. A new day. It was very much a tie for Immy as it was for Corrie. Immy was really loving the sunrises right now. They just seemed so perfect.

"I don't know either. I think I prefer Sunrises. Sunsets are lovely don't get me wrong but I really love sunrises. Seeing the sun rise, feeling the beginning of the warmth on your skin. Amazing." Immy said turning her head to face him and smiling brightly. "It shows the start of something new. Don't you think?"

"Yeah." Corrie nodded again though he was fully aware she couldn't see him. He watched as the last of the sunrise faded into the, now, blue sky. "How are you liking it here then?" So far it was what he had heard people ask, it seemed to be a good conversation starter.

Immy nodded as she watched the sky. She was really enjoying the company of Corrie. It felt friendly. She really didn't care about his house or anything else he seemed to be embarrassed by. She smiled and continued to nod.

"I'm really liking it here. It's very nice and very lovely." Immy said. "You?"

Corrie nodded, a small smile spreading on his face. "Yeah, I love it, I suppose it would be better if I had more than one friend but Kaede's cool enough." He used a joky voice while speaking of her, actually using her name for once, though he was secretly serious, Kaede was cool but she was the only friend he had here and they were at least a month into the year.

Immy nodded and smiled. She counted Corrie as a friend now. She hadn't known him bery long and knew hardly anything about him but he was definiatly a friend. Immy had also met Kaede. Immy liked her, she thought of her as a good friend.

"You have two friends, now. Me and Kaede." Immy said with a smile. "You'll meet other people, there's time."

Corrie turned to look at Immy. She counted him as a friend already, either she was very trusting or she had good judgement of people. "Thanks."

He thought for a second before speaking again. "Isn't it funny that the two friends I havbe are both girls and neither are in my house?" He knew why that was, he found it easier to bond with girls (they were more trusting) and people in his house were mostly nasty.

Immy just nodded. Immy had found it quite easy to be friends with the people in her house. They were all extremely friend and Immy was very pleased about this. She'd not had much trouble making friends outside her house.

"That is a little funny." Immy said with a smile. "They'll be time to make friends. Guy friends. We have seven years in the school."

Corrie nodded. He didn't really have any intention of making friends with the kids in his house. "Yeah, I'm happy with the ones I got at the moment." He sent Immy a friendly smile. Corrie realised that, though she had said they were friends, he knew nothing about the girl. He didn't even know her last name. "So, Tell me about yourself Immy." Corrie was grinning for two reasons; one, he had another friend and two, he was successfully covering up his accent.

Immy knew this question was coming. She smiled formalulating what she would say in her head before saying it. It was always difficult to know what to tell people. She trusted him but not enough to tell him everything about herself. Immy smiled and took a small breath before speaking.

"My name's Imogen Day. My birthday is the 16th of May. I'm from Aberystwyth in Wales. I have a mother, who is a witch and I have a father, who is a muggle. I have a little sister called Pixie she's 6 now and at a muggle school in Aberystwyth. I had two brothers, Zane and Romeo. I have a cat named Belarus like the country and I hate spiders. I like reading and I can cook pretty well." Imogen said "That's me, what about you. Tell me about yourself."
