It was the day after the play, and Joceline had been there, in the back mind you so she couldn't see what was going on, but by the time the screams began she could tell something had gone extremely wrong with some first year's prank. Now there were rumors that the boy had died, everything had gone horribly wrong, and she felt for the Professor that was obviously his mother. Joce had also heard that one of the Ravenclaw prefects was his girlfriend and was of course going through a rough time, she wouldn't know what to do if Thomas had been the one on stage.

Joceline shuddered at the thought, she hadn't seen him since they exchanged Christmas presents, outside of classes of course, and was worried that he could have been hurt from the mass of students trying to get out of the great hall. She knew that he hadn't been hit by one of the fireworks because if he had she probably would have been told by Autumn, or that was what she would have liked to think.

She ran her fingers through her soft brown curls, hoping that Thomas or Brandon would come speak to her, but she didn't think that was going to happen, at least not with Brandon. Their meeting, that had occurred in the library no less, hadn't gone well but she was still very worried about him. Joceline let out a long sigh, one that clearly showed her worry and fear. She went to school with a murderer! She couldn't believe this. Perhaps Gaspard did have the right idea taking Aiden out of Hogwarts for good, perhaps she should move to Beauxbatons or Durmstrang. "I go to school with a murderer" she murmured under her breath and in her mother tongue.

Thomas had been sitting up in dorm room, unable to sleep. The events of the night before were still buzzing through his mind. He didnt go to sleep, through fear that everything that had happened was a dream. One of the most spectacular drems h had ever had.

He made his way down to the common room in hope that he could find Autumn, his hart pined for her now, even more so than before. He asked one of the girls to go and check if she was still in her dorm. After a few minutes of anxious waiting th girl came back to say that she was still asleep. Thomas thanked the girl and left the Ravenclaw house. Last night was a rough time for Autumn, first seeing one of her best friends boyfriend die, and then the complete opposite of emotions when she found him.

Thomas found himself out in the grounds in no time at all. The memories of last night still fresh in his head. His heart felt like it was going to explode. He needed to tell someone, and soon. He hadn't told his roommates, the person he wanted to tell had to be close to him. And he knew just the person, but where to find her?

Thomas scanned the grounds, as if by some coincidence, she was there too. Not so far ahead of him, he saw her, Joce, his other best 'girl' friend. He ran over to her, calling her name, excitment in his voice, "Joce! Joce!" He exclaimed, wavig, hoping it would grab he attention. He finally reached, and he plopped himself down beside her and give a big hug, "Hey you. How are you?" He asked casually, not wanting to blurt out what he wanted to say so badly

"Joce! Joce!"

Joceline's eyebrows arched at hearing her nickname called, and turned her body towards that direction, a beaming smile formed on her lips seeing that it was Thomas. She returned his wave with one of her own and turned back ahead as she waited for him to approach her. She giggled sadly when he sat down beside her and gave her a warm embrace, she gave him one as well. "Hey you. How are you?" She frowned. Tommy must not know, she thought delicately.

"Errmm a little shaken up, what about you?" she said awkwardly as she pulled away slightly to look him over, making sure he wasn't hurt in any way. "Are you okay?" she asked anxiously, putting her hand on his chest softly.

Joceline's luminous eyes showed her fear in who ever killed that poor Njord boy. "Were you there as well?" she asked anxiously before giving him a chance to respond to her first questions. She then wrapped her arms around him tightly once more, relieved that he appeared to be safe and happy.

Thomas looked at Joceline, she did't seem like her usual self. Thomas foud it strange how the whole world could be happy at this very moment, why everyone wasn't sharing in his happiness. Thomas listened Jocelines reply. Smiling slightly he said, "I'm as fit as a fiddle." Showing her they was no need for concern about him.

Thomas comforted Joceline, he couldn't think what was wrong. Then he remembered, the other thing that happened last night he felt so stupid for forgettig about it. Looking at the ground with a frown, "No I wasn't there. I wasn't feeling the best in the morning so I decided to give it a miss." He said, sadness now in his voice. "You didn't see, it happen, did you?" He asked quickly, it was not something he would wish stuk in ayone's head.

"You didn't see, it happen, did you?"

Joce shook her head lightly, she hadn't seen it but she had heard it. "No, I didn't see the boy die, but I heard it." She rested her head lightly on his shoulder finding comfort in his presance. "Sorry.. I didn't mean to wreck your good mood."

Joceline smiled up at him, but it was a pathetic one. "Why are you in such a good mood anyways?" she asked him warmly, though hoping it had nothing to do with that Autumn girl she didn't much care for but pretended she did.

[sorry lame.. but i don't have much time to post now]

Thomas breathed a sigh of relieve when Joceline shook her head, he knew Autumn had seen it and he knew how badly affected she had been by it. When Joceline placed her head on his shoulder he put his arm around her, having gotten used to it, when he was comforting Autumn the previous. He gently rubbed her arm, hearing it is nearly as bad as seeing it he thought.

"Nonsense." He said quickly, "You have nothing to apologise for." He said reassuringly. Thomas knew it was coming, but when he heard it, he froze slightly. In no way was he ashamed of the good mood he was in, in fact he was over the moon, but it felt an inappropriate thing to say, given the circumstances.

He sat up straighter and turned to look Joceline in her eyes. He give a sigh and said, "Joce your one of my best friends, so I don't want anything between us." He paused, thinking how he could word what he was about to say as delicately as possible. "Well, um, last night, after the play," He said, stuttering slightly, with excitment, "Autumn came and told me about everything that happened and after we talked for a while, well, one thing lead to another and, well we kissed." He said, at those words his heart give a small jump when the memory filled his head.

"Anyway, what I guess I'm trying to say is, Autumn agreed to be my girlfriend." He said excitedly, with a hugh grin on his face, "I couldn't be happier." He finished, he waited for Joceline to reply, it was a lot to take in in one go.

Joceline felt slightly anxious as Thomas straightened up, like her comfort was gone. She looked into his beautiful eyes delicatly as he gazed into hers. "Joce your one of my best friends, so I don't want anything between us." Her face contorted oddly at this. She opened her mouth to say 'What are you talking about?' but he had continued speaking, so she stayed quiet, deciding she would stay quiet until he was finished.

"...Autumn came and told me about everything that happened and after we talked for a while, well, one thing lead to another and, well we kissed. Anyway, what I guess I'm trying to say is, Autumn agreed to be my girlfriend.. I couldn't be happier."

Joceline scowled upon hearing Autumn's name at first, but her mouth dropped into a pained expression. She could literally feel her weak, pathetic heart breaking. Her best friend's last words rang in her ears: I couldn't be happier. Joceline rubbed her eyes lightly, before blinking and looking at Thomas, her gaze cold, and hard, not showing the hurt going on inside of her.

"That's great Thomas," she lied magnicificantly. "I'm happy for you," once more she lied. Joceline clentched her jaw and her fists. This is why Brandon hates me! Because I left the ball because I saw Thomas! God damn! I hate this stupid castle! I hate Hogwarts! I hate New Zealand! I hate my life! she thought, all of her pent up emotions from the death of her mother to now, boiling over in her mind. "God!" she whispered under her breath, so it was inaudible.

How could I be so selfish? My best friend is happy. I should be happy for him shouldn't I? Even if it's not with me, she thought as tears dared to show up in her eyes. Joceline was in so much pain with all of this. She had just found out she liked her best friend, more then that, and he was dating someone.

The eleven year old sniffled lightly and rubbed her eyes vigourasly, making it look as if she hadn't gotten much sleep because of stress, when she really was trying to wipe the building tears of pain from her eyes. For effect, she yawned. Joceline flinched inwardly, but she sat straight and cold, not looking into Thomas' eyes so she could avoid the ocean of emotions she was finding in him at this moment.

There was so much hatred, love and jealousy going through her, her heart felt tired, exhausted even, and her mind was swarming through so many thoughts Joceline was beginning to feel dizzy, but she didn't let that on. If one thing she had inhertied from Gaspard it was his ability to shove pain and hurt back, far back, into his mind, and buckle it up to save it for later times. This was perhaps the only thing and time and perhaps circumstance she was thankful for being his daughter.

Unable to speak, she looked at her best friend, hoping he would just say something, so she could possibly gain saliva back, and maybe her heart rate would calm down, as it was skipping every second beat. Joce gave Thomas a look that read: Well what are you keeping me here for? I have other things to do! This was just so he could get upset with her so she would have an excuse to be mad at him, because now she was mad with him through no fault of his what so ever, and it hurt her.

Thomas held his breath as he waited for Joceline's response. It seemed like it was taking a lifetime. Thoughts started to go through Thomas' head, Is she angry? Upset? Would she? Why? a million questions, that he couldn't answer and he wanted to know them so badly. He knew of no reason why she would be angry or upset, it's not like she liked him or anything.

Thomas watched Joceline's bright blue eyes glimmer in the weak winter sun. Finally she spoke. Thomas finally breathed a sigh of relieve, she was happy for him, that's all he needed to hear. He didn't even dare think of how he would have reacted if she had gotten angry or upset for whatever reason, he couldn't loose one of his best friends.

Thomas smiled brightly at Joceline, "I'm glad. And what's even better my two favorite girls are friends." He said giving her a light hug. Thomas saw Joceline rub her eyes and yawn, "Did you not get a lot of sleep last night?" He asked concerned.

"I'm glad. And what's even better my two favorite girls are friends."

Joceline stiffined even more so when Thomas gave her a hug, and although her body was warm it was only giving on coldness and hatred. She wanted so badly to roll her eyes at Thomas' foolish words, every compliment, every nice this she had sad about or to Autumn had been a lie, and now she knew why.

"Did you not get a lot of sleep last night?"

Joce smirked in her eyes, thinking that her response could make him get angry with her, so she would have an excuse to be upset wih him. "Since when do you care? And when was it ever your business?" she snapped. Her tone showing her true Lorka blood, her family was full of death eaters and people in the dark arts, and when she was angry this came out, she of course was compltely ignorant to it.,

lame^^

(Lame wouldn't be the word I'd use <_< :p Mine on the other hand will be  )

Thomas stared at Joceline, waiting for her response. He understood if she was tired and wanted to go back to her dorm. Come to think of it, he would need to return back to the common room, he hadn't seen Autumn that morning, and even though it was only meer hours since he had last seen her, he wanted to see her again.

Thomas was caught up in his own thought's that when he heard Joceline's response, it took him a few moments to concept what she had just said. When he was sure that what he heard, was indeed what he heard, he stared blankly at Joceline with a confused look on his face, "Huh?" He asked. "Where did that come from?" He continued.

sorry :r:

Joceline glared at Thomas, seeing the hazed over look in his eyes made her assume he was thinking of that Autumn. When he finally responsded she rolled her eyes at him and sneered, "Never mind Thomas." She let out a deep breath and looked away from her best friend so she could stay angry with him, and so she wouldn't see the confused look in eyes that made her want to scream exactly what she was feeling at this moment.

Joce squirmed away from him and then stood up, looking down at him but still not in his eyes. "I have to go," she lied pathetically and grinned weakly at him, still trying to lie. A tear streamed down her cheek then she turned away from him and said, "Bye."

( :p I'll forgive you this time )

Thomas continued to stare at Joceline, hoping to catch some so sort of glimpse that would make him think she was joking or something, anything. When he saw her eyes all they did was roll and Thomas knew something was wrong. He heard the sneer in her voice, he started to get worried.

It didn't know what to say, he was dumb struck. Beside him he saw Joceline stand up and say bye as she walked off. His initial instict was to run after her and find out what was wrong, but decided that, it would be better to let her cool off and try and talk to her when she was in a better mood. After a few minutes of thinking through the conversation and what would have upset her, he give deep sigh and made his way back up to the common room.
