History
Shane Lycan Stark was the first child and only boy born to Morgase and Sammael Stark. Morgase was
happy just to have a child, but Sammael was particularly happy to have an heir. Shane was his hope for
the future, the one who would carry on his legacy and the family name. Although Sammael had disowned
his own father he still kept his name. Ishmael was just one black spot on the Stark family tree. Shane
could make up for that, and Sammael was determined to raise his son right.

From an early age it Shane showed an aptitude for Potions and a disregard for the rules. He was a
rambunctious child, full of energy and completely unwilling to slow down or listen. His parents could not
fathom where he got his spunk, or why he refused to behave, and they tried their best to deal with it.
Morgase seemed to be able to get Shane to settle down, especially when she got him to do some Potions,
but Shane absolutely refused to listen to his father. Sammael was harsh on the boy, angered by his
stubbornness. It made for some loud and none too pleasant evenings in the Stark household.

For the most part Shane got along quite well with his sister Sophia. She was four years his junior and
they shared some of the same interests. They would often make potions together or fly. Shane was quite
proud of himself for instilling a love of flying in his sister, who was scared to death of getting on a broom
before her first time. But things were not always great between the two. Unlike Shane, Sophia had a
desire to please her parents. She had figured out from an early age that her father adored her when she
listened and behaved, and so she would often do this. Sophia loved the approval she got from him and
could not understand what made Shane want to rebel so much. But in spite of all of that they grew very
close, and Sophia was extremely sad when Shane left for Hogwarts.

On September 1, 2012, Shane departed for his first year at Hogwarts. Much to his pleasure and his
father's chagrin Shane was sorted into Gryffindor. He got into some trouble, but for the most part he was
not a bad kid. He was smart, but had no passion for schoolwork, instead putting all of his energy into
Quidditch. He made the team his second year as a Chaser, and then switched to Keeper his third year.
Shane had a lot of friends and overall loved going to Hogwarts. Just being away from his father was
enough to make Shane happy, but he truly enjoyed himself at school.

It was the summer of 2016 and everything seemed perfect. Shane had made himself a presence at
Hogwarts, he had some amazing friends, he was doing spectacular at Quidditch, and Sophia was about to
join him at school. But then, in one night, Shane's entire world was turned upside down. He had gone to
his father's study to ask him a question, and upon opening the store saw a sight he never expected.
Sammael was standing there with another man who was cloaked in darkness, a mark Shane had only read
about in books on his father's arm. Filled with shock and not knowing what else to do, Shane ran. His
father never caught up to him, and Shane just kept running. Eventually he made it to his grandfather's
manor. Ishmael had secretly written Shane while he was younger, asking to get to know him, and he
welcomed his grandson with open arms.

Shane was a bit surprised when Sophia did not show up at Hogwarts that fall. He received no answer
when he wrote Sophia, he he eventually wrote to his mother. She told him the whole story, about how
Sophia's memory had been erased and the family had moved to New Zealand. Morgase also told him that
as much as it broke her heart she could not stay in contact with her son. His father had banished him
and would be none too pleased if he found out. Shane was heartbroken. How could his father do that?
He thought the fight was just a small one, one that they would move on from and be fine. But instead
Shane was no longer a part of the family he grew up in. Ishmael agreed to adopt him and raised Shane
until he graduated from Hogwarts.

After graduating Shane was picked up as a Keeper for the Wigtown Wanderers. He was thrilled, as
Quidditch was his favorite thing to do and he really didn't have any other job prospects. Professional It
was amazing, getting to play and being adored by women everywhere. It was like living in a dream. But
Shane could not get rid of the feeling that was something was not right. He missed Sophia terribly, and
wanted to find her. But, could he risk it? Who was he kidding, Shane was a Gryffindor and risk taker. Of
course he could risk it, and he would.

After talking with his mother, who had since left his father, Shane got started on trying to get to Sophia.
He traveled to New Zealand, scoping out the place and trying to gather information on his sister. He met
Bruin Dumbledez, who gave some insight as to what Sophia had been like since the incident. Although he
was desperate to see his sister Shane knew he had to be smart about this. He sent her a birthday gift
with no signature and then just had to sit back and hope. Shane returned to Britain, his thoughts often
going back to Sophia as he continued with his life.

That next summer Shane was thrilled when he received an owl from none other than Sophia. She had
gotten the Memory Charm reversed and wanted to see him. With the help of Tristan Drage, Sammael's
cousin and adopted brother, Shane snuck into Drage Herrogard to see Sophia. Although the visit was short
Shane was just happy to get to see his sister and know that they could finally start developing a
relationship once more.

They continued to write back and forth, and although he was a bit surprised Shane agreed to help Sophia
and Estrella destroy the ring that gave their family such strange powers. Shane himself had been a
Pyrokinetic like Sophia and Sammael, with the same golden eyes, but he was not at all sad to see the
power gone. He asked Tristan to sneak him into the Herrogard again, giving the girls the opportunity to
steal the ring. With Shane's help Sophia and Estrella successfully destroyed the stone and their family was
rid of the powers that some of them had possessed.

The plan backfired quite badly for Shane though. As he was apparating out of the Herrogard he was seen
by none other than his father, who was enraged at having his Pyrokinesis taken away from him. Fueled by
rage Sammael left the Herrogard and went to see his estrange wife Morgase, promptly murdering her. He
was about to kill Erik, Tristan's son who Morgase had been raising, when Morgase's brother Montague
stepped in, killing Sammael. Montague gave Erik to Tristan, along with the bad news. Shane was
horrified. Yet again his father had found a way to completely shock him in the worst way possible. Sophia
was heartbroken, and enraged all at the same time. Being underage Sophia would need a guardian, and
she was sure Valcan would be appointed. Not wanting to be under her great uncle's care, or really deal
with the situation at all, Sophia asked Shane to take her with him, and he agreed.

Shane was ecstatic to have Sophia back in his life, but things were not easy with her around. She was
underage and could not perform magic for fear of the Ministry finding her. Hiding was not in Shane's
nature and he did not enjoy all of the precautions they constantly had to take so that Sophia was not
caught. Sophia truly had changed since he had known her, and the death of their parents seemed to have
changed her even more. She was hard to control and caused many problems for Shane.

One day Shane suggested that Sophia get out and put the idea of seeing some of her old friends in her
head. He was a little surprised it worked so well, but his sister went to New Zealand and got herself
caught by an old professor of hers. Making the trip to the New Zealand Ministry Shane said he would take
responsibility for Sophia, as long as she returned to school. Devastated as she was Sophia agreed, and
Shane had his freedom once again.
