Serving Detention

Kat woke up around 8am and got dressed quickly. She wanted to get as early a start as possible on this detention. The less time she had to spend with Aiden the better off she'd be. She headed up to the owlery feeling disgusted the entire time. When she arrived, Kat looked around, noticing that the first year hadn't arrived yet. Good, maybe I can start without him she thought. She wondered whether or not Professor King would make an appearance today to give them the cleaning supplies that they would need, but then she noticed some things sitting in the corner. Guess that answers that question. Might as well get started. With that she grabbed a broom and started to sweep.

Aiden woke up around 7:30am but did a little bit of reading in his dorm until he realised it was 8:10. Aiden quickly got dressed and rushed over to the Owlrey hoping that he wasn't late. When he got there he noticed that Kat was already there. Great she is going to give me a hard time about being late, why does she have to be such a goody two shoes?! Aiden thought to himself as he walked over to the cleaning supplies and he put on some gloves and picked up a rag and some cleaning supplies to clear out the bird cages and muttered, "Might as well get the worst part finished first..." And let her take the easy way out... Aiden thought bitterly. With that thought he walked over to one empty cage and began to clean that cage out.

Kat had almost finished sweeping the floor when Aiden arrived. She just glanced at him and then returned to her sweeping. She figured it would probably save a fight if they just didn't talk to each other today. When the sweeping was done, Kat returned the broom and then grabbed a rag. She headed to the opposite side of the room, her back to Aiden and started cleaning cages on that side.

As Aiden was cleaning the cages he began to hum the song 'Sweet Transvestite' from one of his favourite muggle movies, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, quietly, when he had finished his third cage he looked over to the opposite side of the room and saw that Kat was also doing the cages. Aiden put one of the owls in a cage that he already cleaned so that he could clean that cage and then he continued cleaning.

Kat cracked a small smile when Aiden began humming. It definitely made the time go by a bit faster, though she'd never openly admit it. She cleaned diligently for over an hour, until her side of the owlery was spotless...or well as spotless as a giant house for birds can be. Kat put away her cleaning supplies and then asked Aiden, trying to sound indifferent, "You want me to help you finish up over here or do you have it covered?" She didn't like fighting with her housemates, but she didn't like being disrespected either. Wanting to end any animosity now she looked at him with a sincere face and said, "Can we call a truce?"

Aiden was just finishing up his side of the Owlrey when Katalina spoke to him Aiden didn't turn his head he just made a puzzled look then went back to being straight faced and said, "I'm just finishing." Aiden said then picked up something then put away his cleaning supplies as Kat began to speak to him again he raised his eye brows and said, "Ermmm sure..." Aiden narrowed his eyes a little unsure if she was actually saying this then asked, "So it looks like we are pretty well finished, do you know if Professor King wants us to report back to him or something?"
