The man above is Merrill's uncle. He is the oldest of five siblings, and the only squib in the family. He currently lives in Wales on the farm that he inherited from his parents. He hasn't had much contact with his family over the years as he never really felt like he fit in among them once they all started school. He is the strong silent type, and prefers the company of his animals, and his books over people. However his life is soon to be interrupted in quite a big way.
