Second Years, Week Three [Trip Jinx]

Professor Adler was happy with the way her lessons were turning out, and even though she was already 25% of the way through the school year, the woman felt as though her students were making good progress. She waited for them to take their usual seats, before getting straight into things. "Good morning everyone! Today will be learning another new spell, one that is prevalent in the dueling tournament." These spells often were, but it was still the case. "We will be going through the Trip Jinx, which as you can imagine is good for tripping up your opponent," thankfully a lot of the spells they used, the clue was in the name.

"The Trip Jinx might sound fun, and good for using as a prank, but it also has to be used respectfully. If you're not practicing it in class, then it should only be used in duels." Professor Adler didn't want to see students casting at each other in the corridors, willy nilly. "For this lesson I want you to make your way toward the dummy and practice this spell on it. You can also practice the Jelly-Legs Jinx again from last week if you'd like, but this week I want everyone to at least have a go at casting the spells." Usually students could choose whether to do a practical or theoretical lesson, but Geo thought it would be better for the students to use their wands instead of their pens this time round.

In order to get an O in this lesson:
- Roleplay the lesson, ensuring you practice the spell on a dummy. A few sentences is fine for full marks.

Nico walked into the defence against the dark arts classroom and took his usual spot in the room. His gaze moved to the professor at the front of the room. he took out his notes and books and the professor began going over the trip jinx. Nico took soem notes about waht it did and how to cast it but wasn't too surprised when the lesson itself let them try it. He moved to one of the dummies and raised his wand and tried to cast it. It took a few tries before he got anything, but by the end of the lesson he had had managed it well enough. He packed up and then headed out of the room.

Zack settled into his usual place in the classroom and waited for the lesson to begin. While he was waiting, he decided to reread the previous lesson in case any questions were asked. He stopped reading when the professor started the lesson. He turned to the next page in his notes and began to write down everything the professor said. Then, when it was time to try the spell again, Zack failed at first, but the fourth time he succeeded better. Until the end of the lesson, he tried again and again until everything worked out better. When they were ready to leave, he said goodbye to the professor, packed his things in his bag and then left the classroom.
