Second Years, Lesson Five

"Alright, get yourselves comfortable, everyone," Trina started, looking around to make sure the class was all there. "I told you you'd get to make history, and now here's what we're going to do. I have right here a time capsule, which will be buried on the school grounds to be unearthed in fifty years time. By which point I will be retired and on a beach in the Bahamas, and if any of you have any sense you won't be around here either." Gabrielle took a sip of water and raised an eyebrow.

"By which I mean you will hopefully have gone on to have amazing careers and done incredible things. So what I want you to do is write a little something about what the school means to you, or something you've learned about the school, something that you would be happy to have read by a student in fifty years. Then they will be sealed carefully up and the future History of Magic professor will take their second years through the capsule. I would also like to know what you think we should put in here to represent the school as it is this year for the students of the future to see as a historical resource. So, feel free to pipe up with ideas while you write, and we'll have a nice relaxing morning." Trina snacked on an apple as she stretched out on a blanket and let the students go about it.

Homework
RP the lesson. (Attendance post is fine)
Extra credit (and saved for the future!) for participating in the homework, i.e. writing down something about the school and/or suggesting an item or similar to include in a time capsule. The time capsule will be saved for the future so don't write anything inappropriate! If you have time and muse, this would be a great homework assignment to participate in!
