OPEN AFTER CHARLIE AS RHYS!

Xiuying was glad to be back at Hogwarts again. The girl had not gotten a nice welcome home from her parents and all they had asked her was how her studies were going. So she had spent the entire time of her break studying like her parents had wanted her to. She didn't get much Quidditch practice during her break, as her mother had thought it had been a waste of time for Jingyi. So she was grateful to be back at Hogwarts so she didn't need to hear the nagging of her mother.

Xiuying had decided to spend her time at the lake. She was crouched down. Her bare feet in the water, as she was looking at her reflection as well as seeing if there was anything interesting in the water, she had heard a few people around the school mention that there was some sort of mythical creature, like an eel or something. But she didn't really believe it. And she wasn't going to believe it until she saw it with her own two eyes. The girl was squinting her eyes trying to see anything out of the ordinary, as she had poor vision and denied she needed glasses. Xiuying had glided her hand through the water when she accidentally splashed someone nearby. "Oh, I'm sorry!"

Rhys was quite indifferent about being back at Hogwarts. The break had been nice and it had been good to be around his family again, but there were also benefits of being back at school. Already he was trying to get a nice head start on his studying for the upcoming classes, grabbing a couple of textbooks as he headed down to the lake. While it was good to studying inside and had a favourite spot in both the common room and the library, it was a nice idea to get outside. Sometimes he stayed inside for far too long. Even his mother had commented on how pale he looked once he had gotten back home.

Settling down near the edge of the water under the shade of a tree, Rhys wasted no time in opening up one of his books and getting right down to it. He barely even noticed that there was anyone else around. It was only when he felt cold water splashing against his bare arm did he blink with surprise, looking up from his book to see Xiuying. "It's fine," he said simply with a forced smile, "You didn't get the book wet." Which was the most important thing as far as he was concerned.

Xiuying smiled gently when Rhys had spoken, glad that she hadn't gotten any of his books wet. "Good, good. Glad I didn't get it wet" Xiuying says with a nod, with a small sheepish smile. She had felt a little bad about it though. The Ravenclaw looked back at her reflection of the water. The lake was in fact a calm place to be. It wasn't loud or chaotic like it was back in the castle. Xiuying was glad to get some peace. "What are you reading?" Xiuying asks Rhys, curiously, as she gently played with the water with her fingers.

He didn't really need to say anything to that, just making a small noise of agreement in the back of his throat as he nodded his head. It was good that she hadn't gotten his books wet. He didn't need to say anything to agree with that message. Instead, she then asked what he was reading and Rhys glanced down at the book in his hands for just a moment before he looked back at the girl. "I'm just getting a head start on some classes for this semester," he explained quietly.

Xiuying nodded as the boy had explained that he was getting a head start on the semester. "That sounds like a good idea. What subject? I should be studying as well." Xiuying says with a nod while muttering the last part to herself, hoping that the other boy didn't hear that. Xiuying looked at her reflection in the water sadly. She honestly needed a break from studying as her mum kept bugging her to do so and her mum wanted her to have the perfect grades and everything. "Do you ever get tired of studying?" Xiuying asked the boy, as she turned to him again. She didn't mind if she was being honest or trying hard to get a perfect grade. But when her mother kept repeatedly making her study, it made her not want to do it.

Chewing on the inside of his cheek, his gaze glanced to the textbook in his hand and then the small pile of them he had set next to him. "Er, all of them," he explained, shifting slightly as he crossed his legs. At least, he had been trying to get through as much of it as he possibly could before it started to get dark. And then he'd probably just end up going back inside and continuing in the common room. Then, at her question, he shook his head, "No." It was a little bit of a lie, sometimes he did want to do something other than studying, but the studying was needed if he wanted to get good grades. And it was not like he never did anything else, he still had time for his drawing and writing so it was fine as far as he was concerned.
