Brushing through her blonde hair, Athena frowned when the brush hit a tangle. She pulled the brush through, not bothering to stop to gently deal with the tangle though the sharp pain to her head made her think twice about doing that again. The girl stared at herself in the mirror set up near her bed. She was her own worst critic, finding her face too narrow and her nose too wide for her face, though she did think her silver eyes were pretty. Her hair wasn't so bad either even if it was getting a bit too long. Putting her brush down, Athena turned to her closet. Some of her roommates had already gotten started with their day, but Athena was a slow starter. She hated to rush in the morning and was glad that she had extra time this morning before she would have to head to Potions. Taking one last look at herself in the mirror, Athena tucked her wand into her bag and lifted her bag onto her narrow shoulders.

As she entered the Great Hall, Athena looked around to see who was at the table. It was quite full, but she managed to secure a spot as a seventh year got up to leave. The silver eyed girl barely spoke to her neighbors, a third year boy she didn't know at all and a sixth year she didn't particularly like. Instead, she reached for some oatmeal, which looked about as appetizing as anything else around. She reached for a banana and began to cut it onto her food slowly and methodically. Her eyes drifted up toward the sixth year who was regaling everything with a story about her summer as if anyone was interested in hearing about it. Rolling her eyes, Athena tucked into her meal making sure that each bite she took had a slice of banana on it.

OOCOut of Character:
God, sorry this has taken so long!

Kiara was fed up. She wasn't sure what she was fed up about, but she knew she was fed up. There were many things Kiara expected to be in the past couple of days, but fed up was not one of them. She sighed as she applied to finishing touches to her appearance and headed up the stairs to the great hall. She wasn't wearing school uniform, it was a weekend, she didn't need to. Though walking up the stairs made her wish she knew a potion to give her the energy to even carry on with the day. She hadn't seen Athena in the Common Room, so she got the feeling that she was in the castle somewhere. Likely the Great Hall, and so it was to the hall, that Kiara went. She was in an Athena mood, not a Justin mood, or a Jennette mood. An Athena mood. So of course when she entered the hall and spotted Athena, she immediately made her way closer to the girl and sat beside her. She noticed that Athena was being rather quiet, though she usually was, and proceeded to pull some toast onto her plate, adding a smidgen of butter and then jam. She wasn't interested in a healthy breakfast this morning.

Eventually Kiara looked at Athena and smiled. "Are you alright?" She looked kind of preoccupied with something, but she didn't know what. "Do you have anything planned for today?" She asked, taking a bite from her toast. Though she soon realised that she really wasn't hungry and pushed her plate away.

Athena looked up as another person sat down, hoping that it wasn’t some other annoying person. She had no idea why she was so annoyed this morning. Perhaps it was hormones or something. A soft smile crossed her lips as she saw that it wasn’t an annoying person. Instead, it was her only non-pureblood friend: Kiara. Athena had heard from several other people in the common room that Kiara wasn’t pureblood, but Athena did her best to pretend she didn’t hear. None of her family members had ever called her on it, and she hoped that they wouldn’t because her family might be the only people who would cause her to stop hanging out with Kiara. She liked the girl, finding them to have quite a few things in common.

Continuing to eat, Athena gave Kiara time to prepare her own breakfast and only spoke after she had been spoken to. “I’m fine. Just tired of hearing stupid stories” she muttered under her breath as she gave a brief head jerk towards the sixth year girl who was talking. The girl’s silver eyes turned to her friend as she asked about her plans. By now, Athena was full and she too pushed her food away. She never ate very much. “Nope, not really. I don’t have to patrol today, thank Merlin. So, I might head outside to the garden or something. Have anything more interesting planned?” she asked, hoping her friend would be up to something a bit more exciting. The girl didn’t have to patrol today, which was great. It seemed that she was always teamed up with the prefects that she didn’t like very much. It was as if that stupid Head Boy had purposely done it. He was so useless, always off snogging his equally useless girlfriend.

Kiara nodded as she listened to her friend speak. She was sure that Athena knew that she wasn't Pureblood. But she was also glad that Athena chose to ignore it. She and Athena got along quite well and so she liked to talk to her. Mostly they usually gossiped, but that was okay, they both knew that they couldn't do extravagant things together. Besides, she barely did anything anyway. Kiara looked in the direction that Athena jerked at and raised her eye brows slightly at the slowly unfolding scene. How curious.. She found it strange that people liked to openly tell stories and talk them selves up. She had no way of knowing whether or not the stories were true, but she had to guess that they probably weren't. "I can see what you mean. What is she even going on about anyway?" She asked as she turned her brown eyes back to focus on Athena. She was much more interesting then what ever it was that was going on across the tables. She shook her head. "It's pathetic really. I can't stand people that can't keep their mouths shut about such matters. She added as she continued on to listen to what Athena was saying. Of course she was only answering her question. Still. It was a nice conversation none-the-less.

"Well, unless you count going for a stroll down to the lake to draw as something to do. Then no. But that is what I shall be doing this evening. She said as she sat back in the chair. She liked being friends with a Prefect. It was, fun. To say the least. "Really I think some people need to learn some Humility." She added as she looked back over the table at the older girl.
