It was the night of the Yule Ball, and Erik Metzger skipped it. He skipped it every year, and this year, he was heading up to the North Tower to escape the every so happy couples. They were annoying. He nearly got nauseous by thinking about it. However, he figured that his little sister, Belladonna, would have a good time right now with Matt Greene. He knew about that Gryffindor, and thought that the boy was a good one. Now, Erik did not try to do anything with his sister's life. He did not want to try that. His business was not the same as his sister's business. That was just him though. Erik was a good brother, and would stand up for his sister when she would request for help. He would just handle everything within his life. Erik looked around the North Tower and noticed just how peaceful that is. It was quite nice up here. He walked over to the window, and the breeze tussled his dark, blonde hair. He looked down upon the lawns as he started to wonder why the Yule Ball was supposed to be this formal, loving and romantic dance but in reality, it was really nothing special.

'I guess it is the girls that make it like it is,' thought Erik as he mused over the thoughts of the holidays. Erik's blue-green eyes continued to look over at the older years as they walked the lawns, hand in hand. He saw a couple snogging before he turned away in disgust. He didn't want to watch that any more than he wanted to dance with some star crossed girl that fell for his looks. Erik might have been a part-veela, but he knew that there was more to him than his appearance. He was a serious person that went on what he believed was right. He was also pretty damn lazy. Erik liked to read and teach himself things. He did enjoy magic, but he did not like Quidditch. His father was a famous seeker, and Erik wanted nothing like that. He might have been Dietrich's son, but he sure was not the shadow of his father. Erik thought about Belladonna, and knew that she made a better chaser than his dad ever was. His dad was clumsy and ran into things. Probably where Belladonna got her clumsiness, actually. Erik shrugged his shoulders and continue to soak in the quiet.
