Kasey walked out of the common room and streched her arms in to the air. Her muscles felt as if they had been jammed due to sitting in a uncomfortable posture for the past three hours doing the long essay of Herbology. Deciding to get some fresh air in order to bring back her senses to life she headed for the North Tower which was the most relaxing place of all especially after curfew.

Grinning widely at the beauttiful view of the grounds from the windows of the tower she sat on the window sill where the air blew her hair into her face. She wondered when they would be done with their exams and when she would turn seventeen and be able to do as she pleased. Of course it was her dearest ambition to study and be an Auror but she also had other ideas planned for herself, like a normal teenager she wanted to have a proper boyfriend. That part was going on good these days after having met Jay. To drink some alcoholic drinks, try them and get the feel of its effects rather than just drinking the harmless butterbeer. All those endless wishes of a teenager also dwelled in Kasey's heart. It was just that she had burried them deep inside and kept focusing on her current goals.

Dom headed straight out of the Ravenclaw common room for the north tower. It had been a little while since Dom had visited the north tower, and simply felt like admiring the view over the grounds. A little disappointed to find that someone else sitting by the window, he walked over and sat nearby. He was hoping to be alone for a little while. Dom decided to strike up conversation anyway, seeing as it was someone that he had never even seen before. He moved a little closer, not wanting to shout across the room.

"Hello," Dom said, aware that the girl probably might be a little startled about this sudden outburst of words. "I'm Dom," he added as a cooling breeze picked up and swept across the room. Dom reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, tin container. He opened it up and took out one of the small wintergreen mints. Dom glanced at the tin and then at the girl. "Want one?" He asked quickly. An idea crossed Dom's mind, so he made a mental note to put some sort of charm on them later and give them out to people. Remembering what he originally came up here for, Dom looked away from the girl and cast his gaze upon the grounds of Hogwarts. No matter how many times he sat in the north tower and looked out at the view, it would always take his breath away.

Kasey turned her head to see who the new comer in the North Tower was. The face was a familiar one and the guy looked like his age but Kasey wasn't amused to learn that they did not know each other. Kasey hardly knew people around the school due to her favorite place being the Library but that was changing slowly. She scooted over so he could have some space for himself. "Hi"she greeted him with a smile. "I am Kasey" she introduced herself as the guy said his name was Dom.

She went back to looking out at the view until he asked if she wanted one of the mints. "Yes" she said taking one of the mints and putting them in her mouth. It was refreshing. "Thanks" she said before she continued to look at the grounds where the grounds keeper was chasing away some ravens from the pumpkin patch."Beautiful, isn't it?"she asked him with another smile.

Sometimes Kasey wished to just sit here by the window and continue enjoying the view. It always relaxed her from tensions and worries and when she went back to the dorm she would easily get some good sleep without having nightmares. "What year are you in?"she asked Dom. She did guess that he would be a sixth or a seventh year but he would even be a transfer because otherwise Kasey would have seen him around.

Dom closed the mint tin and shoved it back into his pocket. "Yeah," he agreed quickly, it was like this girl had just read his mind. He looked over to the dark forest. He had almost forgotten about it completely, and was keen to go camping with Alex again. Looking over at the view, he spotted a few second years, breaking curfew. Laughing a little, he turned back to Kasey. "Year six, Ravenclaw," he informed her, "you?" Sometimes he wondered whether Ravenclaw was the right house for him. Dom was very smart and creative, but that didn't mean he studied all the time and put all his effort into his school work. He had felt a bit of pressure from teachers because of the little Ravenclaw crest on his robes.

Dom was very surprised to find a Ravenclaw out after curfew, he rarely aver met other Ravenclaws. Apart from in the library and the common room. Dom watched as the grounds keeper sighted the second years. "Petrificus Totalus," whispered Dom, placing the grounds keeper in a body-bind curse. He watched the second years scurry away before releasing the grounds keeper from the body-bind curse. Proud of himself, Dom tucked his want back into his pocket. "Duck," Dom whispered, laying flat. The groundskeeper was looking up at the north tower. It was dark and he might not be able to see Dom. But Dom thought it was best to duck just in case.

"Wow!" Kasey said as Dom told her that he was a sixth year Ravenclaw. "Same, Sixth year Ravenclaw" she said laughing slightly as she watched the groundskeepers chasing behind the second years. "Funny how we didn't spot each other" she commented thoughtfully. Sometimes Kasey wondered if she would know if people were screaming beside her. She was so into herself that she hardly noticed others. It was time she would start changing and she was glad to be working on that.

Kasey watched as Dom sent a body bind curse flying towards a ground keeper and the most amaizing part was that it actually hit him. "That was a good one" she complimented before realizing that the grounds keeper was looking towards the North Tower to spot who had cursed him. She did as Dom instructed, ducking so she wouldn't be seen.

"Thanks," Dom murmured, peeping over the bottom of the window frame to watch the groundskeeper. After a few more seconds, the groundskeeper noticed that the ravens he had been chasing away had returned to the pumpkin patch. Dom sat up again, as the groundskeeper busied himself chasing away the ravens. The groundskeeper kept glancing over at the tower, but Dom decided that he was probably too far away and it was too dark to be able to see himself and Kasey.

"Where are you from?" Dom asked Kasey, not being able to pick out her accent. Looking out over the grounds once again, he noticed something jump out of the lake. It soared high, performing two whole flips before landing back in the lake. Dom gasped, "did you see that?" He looked over towards the lake once more, hoping to see it again, but the lake just calmly shimmered in the moonlight.

Kasey stayed duck when Dom checked if the grounds keeper had stopped hunting for them. Straitening up she heard his question. 'Where are you from?' he had asked. "I am originally from England but we've settled here after my third year" she told Dom. Looking at the grounds she snickered watching the grounds keeper go for the ravens again, such a busy man he was. "What about you?"she asked curiously. He must be a transfer student and therefore would have been studying elsewhere before Hogwarts. "Where were you schooling before Hogwarts?"

She was not looking at the lake however when Dom gasped her eyes turned towards the mass of body but whatever it was must have gone living behind ripples in the calm water. "No, I didn't see but it could have been the giant squid or perhaps a mereperson" she told him thoughtfully. Kasey had once seen a mermaid having sun bath in winter but of course they weren't able to chat because Kasey didn't know Mermish.
