Alex left earlier that morning and went out on his routine jog, like he did every other day of the week, Except today he decided to take a detour through the Forbidden Forest. A place where he hadn't entered since the day of his brothers death, he couldn't bare to face it again. Every time he though about it it brought tears to his eyes. The blood curdling scream that he heard come out of his brothers mouth from across the grounds and by the time he made it there it was to late. His brother was gone dragged into the Depths of the forest and never to be found again. The night mares to follow where worse then the actual event itself, they went on for years and still occasionally happen, not very often anymore. Alex slowed down to a walk, in the depths of the forest, it was to dark to even seen ten feet in front of him. He pulle dout his wand and called "lumos." igniting the tip of his wand, to light the path untill he made it back out of the forest into the light.

It didn't seem to matter any more how many times she had told the centaurs that she would keep out of their territory, the forest beckoned to her. She couldn't help it, she was a werewolf for crying out loud. Her entire body craved the sanctuary of the dark woods whether or not the young woman did was another matter entirely. Andromeda had left the library with every intention of going straight to the common room but instead her feet took her in another direction entirely. She allowed fate to guide her though she hated this.

Andromeda looked ahead of her and saw a faint light, she stopped and pulled out both wands in her possesion and trained them in the direction the light was coming from.
"Who goes there? friend or foe?" it sounded daft to say it now but if a sentry on duty felt compelled to shout it then so did she.

Alex Stopped dead in his tracks, why would someone be out this far into the forest, when there where so many evil creatures out here. Alex followed in the direction, where the voice came from to find a girl. He lowered his wand. " Sorry If I scared you. I'm Alexander Fields." He said as he extended his right hand towards her. What was a girl doing out this far, in the forest? It was a little bit odd, but so was the fact that he was jogging in pitch black. " If its ok that I ask, Whay are you out so far?"

Andromeda had to stop herself from laughing, how in the world did this guy really think for a second that she was scared out here. She considered this for a moment and realized that so many wizarding students took for granted what actually lived in their world. The muggle contingency were a different matter, they doubted practically everything. She took the hand he offered and shook it before releasing it.
"I haven't seen you around before" it wasn't a question but more of a statement. She knew practically everyone at this school, was this another transfer. Merlin knew there were enough newbies this year.

Why does every one say that? Alex thought to himself as she made her comment about not seeing him around. " I haven't really got out and met most of the people here, in my previous years." he said with a smile on his face. " So whom might you be?" He asked hoping that he didn't come across as to rude, in the way he asked. He didn't really want to start pushing people away, seeing as he had only just started to make friends with the students here.

Andromeda had to laugh, besides the fact that she was a prefect and widely known by every house in the school and one of the more widely known quidditch players as well, especially thanks to Henric Lee's taking her out of the last game of the season, Andromeda could only surmise that this guy was either a hermit or simply didn't like being social.
"In your previous years?" she smiled and walked on a few more feet until she could see him without having to hold her wands too high, "Nope don't recognise your face at all. You must have been hiding yourself really hard."

There was a wicked streak about her that came out to play now and again, as she smiled at him now she could not resist the wink as well.

" Not really, I just didn't talk to people and didn't get involved with any one business. So no one had a need to know me." Alex said as he sat down on a log that was behind him. " So what brought you out in the middle of the forest?" He asked curiously for the second time, hoping that this time she would answer, the girl came across as a tiny bit rude, but obviously he was going to run into some people like that. he scratched the back of his head, messing up his white hair.

Andromeda wasn't the slightest bit convinced of his answer. She knew practically every pupil here, unless the guy was an utter recluse then there was no other possible reason for her not to know him. She opened her robe slightly to reveal the prefect badge emblazoned on her jumper.
"I am on patrol" it wasn't a lie, she had been patrolling the area outside the forest, she simply couldn't help the pull, the draw to come in to it.

"So what's your name stranger?" she refused to think of him any other way, for now.

" I told you before, It's Alexander Fields." He said feeling really bad now. He shouldn't have repeated it. He was thinking of running but what would that prove. Was he going to get in trouble for being out here, more then likely. " Seeing as I've been caught then, Are you going to tell me your name, or am I going to have to keep asking?" He asked cheekily. He didn't really care, if he got introuble, it's not like he was doing something, that bad.

Smiling she moved closer but not as close as she had done to Ashton or Aeon, there was only one now in her heart or the remains of her heart and she wanted no other. There was only one mouth wanting on hers and Alexanders was simply not it.
"I know.. sorry, I just like winding law breakers up. Come on unless you've urgent business to attend to I'll walk you out" she told him still not bothering with her own name. The closer she got, the better for him to see her, her deep red hair splayed over her shoulders, her school uniform and her amber eyes told anyone that she was not someone to be trivaled with.
"I'm Andromeda."

" Andromeda..... MMM pretty name, What's it mean?" Alex said as he slowly began to walk towards where he came from, They where a fair way out from the edge of the forest and it would be good for a chat. The darkness, in which they where in engulfed them. He drew his wand back out. " Lumos." He said igniting the tip of his wand. " So Andromeda, what house are you in?" Hoping that if he made a good enough conversation, maybe house points wouldn't be taken away.

She smiled shaking her head slightly.
"My name means leader of men" this was amusing in itself but she wasn't about to go into the formalities of it when he asked about her house she pointed to the crest on her jumper and the tie she also wore.
"I'd say those alone sort of give away the fact that I'm a Gryffindor, wouldn't you think?" she took out one of her wands and lit it herself, though she would know most of the forest as if it were her home anyhow.

"So what brings you out here?" Andromeda was used to how quiet the forest became when she entered it as if all the creatures moved further away from her for their own safety. It had irked her greatly to begin with but now she simply enjoyed the stillness of it.

" I guess they do." Alex said with a smile on his face, he kind of felt embarrassed about asking such a stupid question, but it wasn't to bad it was funny. " I don't know, I haven't been out here for a long time, I usually go for a jog every morning around the grounds and for some reason with out even thinking of where I was going I began to head out here." He said facing her as he spoke.

[lame i know.]

Andromeda instinctively turned to face him as well as he spoke to her.
"I usually run myself but earlier than this 5:30am most mornings actually but I keep it to doing laps around the pitch. Not exactly the safest place to go for a run" she indicated the forest around them, "So Alexander do you need me to protect you from the big bad... in here?"

She smiled at her own pun, knowing it would go completely over his head. The only big bad in this woods were her and she knew it. Her amber eyes almost danced with concealed amusement as she looked at him.

Big bad? What was she talking about, Alex thought to himself. He knew there was dangers in the forest but nothing that he probably wouldn't be able to handle. " I think, that I might be able to manage." He said with a smile. ' What about you?" He asked in return, hoping that she would be able to take it as easy as he did. His sea green eyes looked around at the blank surroundings, that they where in. He then turned to look at her and noticed her amber eyes. " Wow, I don't mean to sound sleazy or anything, but you have really pretty eyes. Are they like contacts or something?"

Andromeda smiled the guy was alright, not arrogant in any way which was a nice change.
"I'm sure you can manage perfectly" she leaned back against a tree as he looked about them and only when he looked back at her did she become slightly uncomfortable. It was almost like he was scrutinising her but finally he made a comment about her eyes and once again she chuckled lightly.

She lowered her head slightly pushing some stray strands of hair behind her ear before looking up at him again.
"No" her voice held traces of humor as if she were so used to these types of comments, "they're au naturalle. Strange shade I know, amber. Just don't get me angry people have actually told me that when close enough its like they can see flames in them".

Another smile as she lowered her wand hand and looked at him curiously.
"So what do you do for fun Alexander? You're not on the quidditch team because I would definitely recognise you from there. So where have you been hiding and why?" she could have made it sound totally cheesy by adding on 'all my life' but she wasn't in the mood for cheesy.

Alex let out a tiny laugh, when she said people said they could see flames in her eyes. Then she asked the question he kind of hoped she wouldn't. Why hadn't he really shown his face. " Well for fun, I just do a little bit of everything, I just want to try as many thing as I can before my time is up." Alex said looking down at the ground as he answered the second part of the question. " Well, I just couldn't bare to talk to anyone since the Death of my biological Parent's. I know it seems wierd, they died when I was eight. But the last thing my Forster Father said to me was that he wanted me to get out more and make some friends and since he passed on I just felt obligated to fill out his dieing wish." He said as he wiped a single tear off of his left cheek before he looked back up at her.

Andromeda listened to him pushing herself from the tree as she did so and scuffing her feet in some of the dead leaves on the ground. As she did so a deep maroon pouch became visible. Slowly she bent down as her eyes filled up, this was so not happening right now. Of all times for her to find the stupid thing. She closed her fingers around it, wondering if she would find the bear pendant and the claddagh ring still inside. There was definitely something there she could feel that much. She turned back to him as he continued to speak this time about his family.

She felt like the biggest heel in the world. Of course there were people out there who had problems similar or worse than her own. So why she had to be the only one acting out, behaving like some petulent child was beyond her.
"Sorry to hear that Alexander, I'm sure he'd be happy to know you're fulfilling his wish at least" she offered him a smile before taking a deep breath.

"Guess we should leave the forest and start heading back along".

Alex watched as she picked up a pouch, he didn't really pay it the piece of mind that he usually would. " Yeah I guess so. It was just so hard for me to break out of that shell." He replied, to her comment about him fulfilling his Forster fathers last wish. " Yeah I guess we should....... So what do you plan on doing with yourself after you have finished here?" he asked trying to make a good conversation as they began to walk back, towards the castle. His white hair getting caught in the branches of the tree's. " Bloody hell, I need a good haircut." He muttered under his breath.

As they began to walk out towards the brighter area of the forest, Andromeda's thoughts were slowly becoming engrossed in the pouch. She had thought it lost forever after the stupid centaur had taken it but here it was, Bruin's pendant and the ring she had meant for him. She wondered if he would still be wearing his bear and realized her eyes were beginning to fill up with tears. Kiera had been right, she was not the person he had known at all. She was a far cry from it. Hearing Alexander mutter something about getting his haircut, Andromeda lifted her wand and flicked it at him. Not paying much attention at all, still overly consumed with her find.

The words 'diffindo' were uttered, the spell for cutting things open. It was only when she realized what she had said that she spun around to see what she had done.

Alex stepped back when he was hit buy, what felt like a invisible knife. It sliced right into his arm and cut so deep you could see the fat and muscle in his bicep. " Holy crap." He said as he clutched it tightly putting pressure on it. It was something he had learned when he was a scout, that if he had a open wound or a snake bite he should put pressure or cut off the circulation to it to stop bleed and spread of Venom. " What was that for?" He asked not really feeling angry, but more surprised at how random the attack was.

Andromeda muttered nervously under her breath as she ran back to him.
"Alex I am so sorry" she naturally just shortened his name, "Can I take a look? I can do some healing spells, I've been learning how to be a healer".

The truth was always mingled with so much else, she was learning how to be one but she was also taught the spells for specific reasons, Andromeda had been through so much more than the average teenager and broken bones, bruises, cuts and other woes were, now thanks to a few healers at St. Mungos, in her power to heal. She switched wands to the one her uncle had owned, that she had inherited after his death. Created especially for the very purpose of healing. She held out her hand to him to take his arm.

"I meant to cut your hair free, sorry I was distracted. It won't happen again" it was as if nothing bad in her life had ever happened and the healer that she would one day become simply took over. She was gentle and caring, the perfect bed side manner for any patient, "I won't hurt you, I promise".

" It is all good, don't fret it. I know it was a accident." Alex said as he thought about whether she could have done it on purpose, but he quickly chucked that thought aside. Why would someone who attacked you then help you? Alex your a Idiot he thought to himself. Knowing that sane people didn't talk to themselves. " .. but I have to say it was a good shot." He said trying to lighten the mood just a little bit. He didn't want her to feel bad for what she had done, Alex had already gotten past it and was thinking whether it would look cool with a scar or without a scar. Which seemed like a fairly immature thing to think of. A healer ,that's a good job. Alex began to think. It would be a really hard job, especially seeing all the patient coming in. Looking like they where about to die. " DO you want to be a healer, when you graduate?" He asked obviously knowing the answer, not thinking it would be to do with something else.

She smiled at him as if she were still this new person who was now only intent on taking care of his wound. Gently she took hold of his arm and flicking her wand over it called out 'episkey'. The skin slowly began to knot together, the blood congealing. There was nothing she could do magically for the rip on his shirt though. Using 'scourgify' she cleaned up the blood stains on the shirt sleeve before looking up at him and releasing his arm slowly.

"I can stitch the shirt up for you, I'm afraid the minor healing spell will fix it fine but ... you'll have a slight scar there. The cut was deeper than I thought but if you go straight to the hospital wing the nurse there should be able to fix it" she put her wand away again and took a step back surveying her handiwork and mentally chastising herself for having hurt him in the first place.
"Yes, I want to be a healer. It's what I've spent the last few years working towards. I even did work experiecne at St. Mungos on the winter vacation. It's hard work but it's good. It's honest" she didn't know why she added the last part, perhaps it was for her own benefit, she seriously didn't know.
"How does it feel now?"

Alex was happy that she had healed his arm up and was kind of excited that there was a tiny scar. It would prove that it had happened and give him something to talk about. " It's ok, I will just save this shirt, for hunting then." He said referring to when he goes home and goes out with his dog and hunts all the boars on his property. It was a great sport to get involved in, he had to have a good running pace and excellent upper body strength for when he lifted the pig onto the back of his old Ute, so he could gut it. " You did a really good job, thank you." He said with a smile.

He nodded in approval, to Andromeda wanting to be a healer, it was good that someone wanted to do the job, it would be hard finding people that wanted to do it, who could handle some of the sights they would see, at work. " Well your really good at healing, you should most definitely get a job, either here at the school, or at St Mungo's." He said thinking of how busy it would be to work at St Mungo's, she would be running around flat out with all the injuries people do sustain. " Yeah it is great you have done a wonderful job, thank you so much, If it would have been me. I probably would have tried to sow it up." He said with a cheeky grin on his face.
