Ben had been running along the path in Brightstone Village, not after anything in particular just running trying to get somewhere quicker then he would by walking, but he didn't know his destination. He had his I pod playing as he had been doing everyday this week and he was playing a good song by Bliss and Eso a Australian rap group, it was called the sea is rising. "Why are they refusing to listen, why are these troops on a mission, why are they shooting these victims, over there view of religion, why do we all search for love like we have cupids addiction." HE sung along until he tripped over and landed on something, or rather someone.
 
"Oh, so sorry I got in your way," Vanessa said. She had been looking around looking at items on display in the windows. She looked up and saw that she surprisingly thought he was cute. Then she realized he had an Ipod and asked, "What song are you listening to? I love to listen to music. You're lucky you have an Ipod. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Vanessa."
 
Ben looked at the girl after he got up and he quickly turned his I pod off, she was cute but she looked a little younger then him. " It's just some Australian hip hop, it's called The sea is rising by Bliss and eso." He said feeling as though he had babbled slightly. His blue eyes looked her over, she was no where near his height of six foot. " Im Ben Connolly." He said extending his hand out to the girl.
 
Ben passed her one of the head phones and played the song The Sea is Rising . " I don't know if you will like it, it is a very acquired taste of music, not many Australian's like it." He said with a smile exposing his white, but not so straight teeth, they had been knocked around from all the fighting he had done, when he was over home. He missed all of his friends seeing as they meant everything to him, they where the best people he knew, if only his parents hadn't pushed him away.
 
"Awesome song," she said. She was fighting the urge to start dancing, since she didn't want to seem weird in front of all the people and she didn't want to embarrass herself in front of Ben. "Different, but I like it. My favorite song is Love Drunk by Boys Like Girls." Still embarrassed she couldn't think of anything else to talk about than music, she listened to the song until it ended. She had finally thought of something to say, and she said it. "So where are you heading? I've just been looking at items from shops through the windows," she said. It wasn't a lot, but it still worked in a conversation.
 
"Love Drunk by Boys Like Girls is a pretty good song, I've heard it a couple pf times, It has a really good flow to it." Ben said with a wide smile. He looked around to see a few others walking around and doing there own little things. " I don't really know, I was just going where ever my feet take me, but now obviously they have brought me here." He said feeling kind of stupid for saying it.
 
"Cool," Vanessa said. She still couldn't really think of much to say. She touched her Golden Snitch pendant as she thought. When she finally thought of something to say, she opened her mouth to say it, but then it slipped out of her brain and she went back to thinking. She finally remembered. "So how have you been? I've been pretty good," she said.
 
Ben smiled at her asking him if he had been alright mid conversation obviously she couldn't think of anything to say to him, he definitely needed to come up with the conversations. " Yeah I'm pretty good, have had somethings to deal with, but I'll get over it." He said pondering in his thoughts for a moment. " So what kind of things are you interested in? "
 
"Well, I like listening to music and...um... singing music.... and also writing music lyrics," Vanessa said, then she noticed how she was talking and pinched her wrist in embarrassment. "Ouch," she whispered, not wanting Ben to hear. She got a song going through her head, so she calmed down. "What kinds of things are you interested in?" Vanessa said, relieved that she could talk normally again.
 
Ben nodded when she said she liked music, and pretty much everything to do with music. HE noticed he pinch her wrist but he chose not to say anything, because he didn't want to embarrass her any more then she probably already was for talking to him. " Well a bit of everything, I used to think I was just a Muggle seeing as I am Muggle born, I used to hang with the muggles and party with them. Now I can't though I moved over here. I love riding Bmx, rapping and talking as you could probably tell."
 
Vanessa listened to what he said, then decided she would feel less embarrassed if she made a joke. "Normally I can talk a lot, but I think I spoke too much and now my voice box is acting up," she said. She wasn't completely comfortable, but she felt a whole lot better using humor. She decided that it would be like forcing him to laugh at her joke if she laughed first, so she was quiet after.
 
Ben smiled at first and then a soft little chuckle, it wasn't a forced laugh or anything it just kind of slipped out, he didn't even think it was that funny but he still did laugh. Looking back at her, with his soft green almost blue eyes, he began to wonder if she would like to go get something to eat. " Are you hungry?" He asked putting it nice and simple.
 
Ben smiled at the thought of going to get something to eat with her, it would be great. " Let's get something to eat at the three broom sticks then." He said putting his hand in his pocket to see he had a few galleons left, he would be able to pay for the meals with a few galleons.
